>work on call
>boss texts random hours telling us when there's work
>sometimes get a text at 1:30 PM, other times at 5:30 PM
>can't live any kind of social life because MAYBE I'll get called into work
Kill me /r9k/

Quit.
For real. Do it. Not fair to hard working employees who have a life
>>26371652
What kind of work is that?
Do you get paid only for the time you are there?
Is there an upper limit on the time you can receive a call?
How much do you get paid for that?

On Call, part-time work in a warehouse.
Yes.
Apparently not, latest of a text/call I got was 6:45 and usually have to go into work at 10.
Minimum wage, so $10.60 an hour.

I feel like calling off work tonight at least. Can't quit.

Give them an ultimatum.
It's either this shitty work schedule system goes or you do.
As a laborer, you are more than worth it.
>>26372145
That won't work. Workers here are disposable, like everywhere. Can't change a schedule just because I don't like it. The only problem I have are the sporadic times in which I get called into work. It's fucking ridiculous that I'm forced to stay in my home for upwards of 6 hours only to find out I'm working in a few hours.
Absolute bullshit. Calling off sick tonight, don't care.

Oh, apparently the 8 times I've called off sick since July means I should get "check out because I'm sick a lot."
The reason i went on call is to be able to say no when theres work.
Though my cost of living pretty much requires me to work 4-5 days out of the month.
You really need to have a solid budget to work on call.
I used to have a schedule similar to that.
Only we usually were notified the day before or the morning of.
>>26371991
>Can't quit.
Why don't you try finding something else.
I reckon this type of schedule would drive someone insane.

>mr sheckelburg doesnt even have to plan his business
>just call these wagecucks when shit starts getting busy

Nothing else here, I'm not kidding. There a call centre but I already burned that bridge.
Is just rather not work for a while but that's not going to happen. Dealing with some close family members health issues and my entire friend group just moved away together.
I feel like a zombie.
