If it had an ID in it or some type of contact information I'd try to tell the person I have their wallet but if there's nothing in there then you can't really do much

But honestly, kids are so careless and stupid. Yeah, the kid will be super upset, (if he's a robot, probably upset about it for the rest of his miserable life), but they lose stuff all the time. Source: I managed a Chuck E Cheese's. Kids are just, well they're just super bad at life. That's why they're kids.
I'd keep it, maybe browse my local craiglist lost and found for a day or 2. But he probably doesn't even know where he lost it, so even if he went looking for it he's hopelessly fucked. Like we all are.
