Too much fruit can be bad for you just like candy, but in same proportions the fruit is better due to complex sugars which aren't absorbed by your body fast enough and mostly just pass through.

Fructose (normal fruit sugar) is less complex than sucrose (common sugar).

I'd say fruit is better because most have oligo elements, fito nutrients and all that shit and are mostly water, so by weight you don't take that much sugar. Plus fructose is sweeter than sucrose so you need less of it.

On the other hand, fructose hits the liver hard.
