Guessing your comp doesnt have a 3mil jack?
>>
>>26107295
that's not what the dac/amp is for
>>
>>26107321

Ok just wondered because if you're just listening to music you dont really need it and you might want to put the money into the headphones. Either way it should do fine.
>>
You'll probably want to get a separate headset for gaming all together. Especially if you play a lot.

There is no reason to use your music headphones for something other than music. You want to prevent as much wear as possible.

I'm a vinyl fag so I can't help you too much but I did a little research and found this one

seems pretty popular. It also seems a little more desktop friendly.

Getting a good amp to last you a while is probably a good decision. It might be better to buy the amp now and just wait a little longer for the headphones.

You won't need to upgrade your amp as quickly if you purchase something a little beefier.

Do you also need a mic?

I know it sucks but you might want to wait. There isn't much you can do with $200 in the audiophile world.
>>
>>26107907
I don't need actual audiophile headphones, my standards aren't that high
>>
>>26107929
I don't know why you would request for audiophile opinions and only want really low budget stuff. You might as well just buy a pair of bose.
>>
>>26107986
if you say there is no difference between a $10 headphones and a $200 then just leave this thread
>>
>>26108016
I don't know where bose means $10. But if you can get bose headphones for $10 than please show me where. I could make a fortune reselling those.

Also if $10 is "really low budget" to you then you should probably stick with your basic bestbuy stuff.
>>
>>26108016
My modded K44 sounds like $500.
>>
>>26108252
I forgot to mention it priced at $15.
>>
>>26107111

I'm very fond of Grado cans myself, I have a pair of PS1000, RS1 and SR80's. I'd recommend the SR80 or the SR60's, they sound very nice and they do just as well without anything in between, the cushions might get a tad uncomfortable over very long sessions (nothing that kills tho), but you can get "the big cushions" from grado if you want to, they're comfier and will provide a little more soundstage. Small cushion grado work really well with rock music btw.
>>
>>26107111
Just buy a sennheiser zero or one. I have the pc360 g4me (which is basically the same) and people always compliment me on my mic quality.
>>
Whatever you do. Don't fall for the ATH-M50 shill.
>>
>>26107111
well you cant go wrong with beyerdyns, dunno about the amp though since i always make my own.
>>
I'm gonna buy some mdr v6s :D
>>
>>26107877
Well you can buy beyerdynamic DT 770 pro's for that money. Not open, but an amazing sound and probably the best headphones in that price range.
>>
To anyone that has the Takstar Hi-2050s/QPad QH85s and moved onto the DT880s, would you say the jump is worth the money?
>>
>>26108341
yeah but isn't the main difference between 770 and 990 is that one is open and one is closed?
aren't they cost the same? isn't open always better, especially for audio positioning (csgo) ?

I'm also useing superflux cheapo-halfopen headphones
I'm pretty content with them

Out of curiousity, with which audiofiles and what music would you hear a noteable difference?
I see a huge jump when listeing to FLAC compared to MP3 but I've never noticed any real difference between my Superfluxs playing FLAC of say Punk/Rock/Jazz/HipHop/Rap and Classic compared to the over 200 Euroshekles worth Sennheisers my friend uses.
Are my ears just fucked to hard allready? When do you notice the biggest differences in headphone-gear?
>>
>>26108435
open isnt better, just different. Also, those other questions can be googled.
>>
>>26108498
That isn't really going to be audiophile stuff. For the audiophile world 500 USD minimum is more realistic for headphones.
>>
Honestly, for 99 percent of people, a good pair of mid range headphones from $170-240 and a good quality sound card are more then enough.

Once you start delving into > $400 dollar headphones and > $400 dollar amps you start wading into the law of diminishing returns and you are just wasting your money, might as well buy 250 dollar HDMI cables
>>
Ath-m50x or sennheiser hd598?
>>
>>26108713
these headphones cost ~$200 and the amp/dac is ~$80
>>
>>26108762

that imo is fine

but anything more is just dumb unless you have serious cash to burn
>>
>>26108737
If comfort is of great concern I'd go with the hd598. M50's are pretty good for their price but the pleader gets hot and the earcups are a tight fit.

call me a pleb, but when you have to pay more than twice the price for gear that classifies as "audiophile"-gear I get the feeling that it's mostly the need for feeling special, social status and autosuggestion that makes you "see" a difference.

It's like those fucks who keep telling me to buy a designer handmade Kiteboard because it's like rideing a cloud, when in reality the board will not make you ride a tat better if you're shit.

Fuck it, I stay pleb with my Superflux listeing to FLAC enjoying myself. My ears are probably fucked anyway due to all the concerts I went to.
>>
>>26107986

And I know you're going to say "blah blah wasting your money blah blah not actually any better" but it's the same reason people spend thousands of dollars on comic books or dump $3000 into a PC. If you don't think it's worth it then you don't understand why it's worth it and probably never will.

at least its better than skullcandy which was my last pair

I seriously wonder just how prevalent headphone shilling really is. Like every week there's a new headphone that absolutely destroys everything else in its price range.

>>
>>26108927
That's not at all what I was going to say so perhaps try assuming less shit from just a few words.
What I was going to say is that differences in sound exists in stuff that isn't that expensive either and can be discussed just like expensive stuff.
>>
>>26109931
The issue was more that people were referring to "audiophile" quality stuff as products in the $200 range. Yes there absolutely differences in quality from products of all ranges, that doesn't excuse that fact that people were genuinely discussing entry level Sennheisers as "audiophile" products.

Also I find it silly that you ask specifically what I view to be the entry of audiophile equipment and then instantly turn around and say "Lol I wasn't even trying to talk about audiophile stuff you're stupid for responding to my question honestly."
>>
>>26109814
That sounds completely insane and useless to me. Which I think enforces my point. I have no idea why you would spend that much monwy, but they do.
>>
>>26110252
When you are rich it does not matter and very high-end components, custom water cooling, custom case, etc. adds up very quickly. Not all enthusiasts build PCs like that to say, "Look at me!" Some build them for the sheer power, because they enjoy using everything to its limit. They know it will eventually become obsolete, but that is inevitable, due to it happens to everything.

tl;dr: People like what they like. Everyone is different.
>>
>>26108737
I've got modded 558s, so they're, allegedly, pretty close to the 598s.
On that note, I really recommend the 598s if the open back isn't an issue because they're very comfortable for long listens and the sound quality is great for the money.
