What's your job, robots?
Do you like it?
How much do you make?

While we're at it, does anyone have any ideas about any robot-tier jobs? Minimal social interaction, little stress and responsibility etc
>>

I get paid $12/hr to help my Dad and my Grandfather at Work. And by help, I mean sit at my Dad's Desk and follow his exact instructions, essentially doing his job for him. And I file some stuff. And nearly all my paycheck goes to my oneitis because I'm a stupid cuck who can't say "No".
>>
Warehouse job at an online richfag clothing retailer.
It's okay as all the walking and lifting of boxes and pallets prevents me from getting any fatter. Nearly all of my coworkers are obnoxious hispanics and nigger normalfags though.
$12.50 an hour.

>>25897186
>And nearly all my paycheck goes to my oneitis because I'm a stupid cuck who can't say "No".
What the FUCK anon
>>
>>25896768

>Chemist
>$28/hr

Pay isn't great but I like my job because even though it's 5 days a week I really only work every other day. On Mondays and Wednesdays I just set up reactions which takes 2 hours tops. I sit around than sit around for 5 hours doing "work" in my office. I just browse the internet or play vidya.

The other 3 days of the week I actually work because purifying and characterizing is 90% of synthetic chemistry. I also tell Pakis and Arabs to clean stuff because otherwise they'll ruin everything.

I don't like that I can never meet women at my job. It's 100% male because the company basically has a policy to discriminate. Woman would have to be guaranteed payed time off whenever pregnant because they can't work with teratogens. They'd just get prego as much as possible to get paid for sitting at home.
>>
>>25896768
I work for a craft store stocking merchandise and receiving shipments. The hours are great, I start at 4 or 5AM and work only until 10:30 or 11AM at the latest. That means only dealing with customers for an hour, tops, and never having traffic on the drive there. The job is easy, mindless and fucking perfect for a robot. Only downside is the pay, I'm only getting $9 an hour.
>>
>>25897783
same as me. work at a grocery store doing the same thing. $9.21/hr is not bad though. work as long as i want, whenever i want. can't go higher than 40 hrs a week though.
>>
I work as an intermediary between people who own race horses and stud farms where they contract them out for breeding.

It's great. Make about 85k, which is pocket change to the obscenely rich people who are into horses, but my main guys give me ridiculous gifts and the places I get taken out to eat are worth having the job for alone.
>>
>>25897851
How did you get into that job? Sounds cushy as fuck
>>

Work IT at a tax company
Yes I love it
Make $70 an hour, about $14,560 a year
>>
"Production Associate" aka factory assembly-line bitch.
$17/hr
Don't have to talk much, co-workers are all dumb filipinos anyways. English isn't their first language so they just jabber to each other in moon.

It's alright. No customers, not the soul-crushing stuffyness of open office jobs, could still be better. Hoping I make lead after I put a year in so I get a work-laptop and get to sponge off work by sitting down and answering emails when I want a break.
>>
Red Cross EMS

It makes me hate people more by the day which is kinda ironic since you still gotta give them your all in case of an emergency.

Pay next to jackshit.
>>
>>25897877
Pure, 100% luck. I graduated with a degree in English lit, but I just met the right guy (through a professor I became very chummy with).

>What's your job?
kennel care at a non-profit animal shelter

>Do you like it?
I love it, certain things I do dislike, but the pros outweigh the cons infinitely for me

>How much do you make?
not a lot, let's leave it at that. doesn't help that Im also working 5 to 10 hours a week unpaid during our busy seasons (after holidays like Christmas, Valentine's Day, Halloween, and 4th of July)
>>
Banker
Not really. It's easy and the hours are okay, but generally dull.
28k + bonuses. British Pounds.

I'm a bottom of the ladder pleb and spend most of my time doing background research on companies we're trying to get to rebank so that others can go out and more effectively win them over. Rest of my time is spent on all the admin bullshit we have to do to not go to jail because regulation is insane since the crisis.

well, I got lucky and was hired as an 18 year old with no prior work experience since I had volunteered at that shelter since I was a kid and they all knew me really well and knew I was a right fit for the company culture and being dedicated to the job. because it is a job that you have to be extremely dedicated to. I had a couple thousand volunteer hours before getting hired. so if you're willing to put that kind of time in, that's a way you could go

otherwise for a kennel care position they typically look for experience working at a boarding kennel, dog daycare, another humane society, county pound, aide at a vet clinic, groomers, anything like that. working at places like petsmart previously COULD be enough, depending where you're applying. as a rule of thumb, privately owned non-profits are more competitive for hiring than county run "dog pounds". but, they're also much more pleasant to work for

the only type of schooling that would help you is something directly animal related like CVT, vet school, certified trainer, groomer, etc. most of my coworkers don't have degrees yet and are studying to be one of those mentioned above.

but there's other jobs within the shelter that require different things. community outreach, cattery staff, volunteer/foster coordinator, director of operations, front office staff, etc

and if you put in an application for an opening and you don't get hired, it's not exactly game over. a lot of new hires don't stick because they just want to pet dogs and don't get how hard of a job it is until they start actually doing it. then they'll typically look at the other people who put in applications instead of starting over, since many shelters will get a fuckton of applications across the state for any one job opening

Is it possible to get rejected from being overqualified? I should not be struggling this fucking hard for basic ass retail.
>>
>>25899345
Absolutely. I had a really hard time getting hired for retail when I lived in NY because I listed my education and all of my work experience. Just put on your resume exactly what's applicable for the job you're applying to, and don't embellish anything. You might have better luck.
>>
>>25899493

My education is 2 days of college and 3 other retail jobs. Is that REALLY enough to be overqualified? I feel going for anything higher than retail would just be lying to myself

not really, its basically the opposite of an ideal robot job, I have to take to people over the phone ALL DAY, I do like its mostly women because a lot of jewish women call in, I like the part where I do computer shit though, its a easy job, but stressful. I take like 40-50 calls a day, 35 or less on a slow day.
>how much do you make?
I get 19/hr, I'm in the midwest, full benefits direct hire

a lot of these jobs are contract no benefits shit pay, .like $12-$14/hr, which was my last job bascially same stuff but shit pay and no benefits as a contractor, but at least that job I only took like 20 calls a day and worked afternoons when everyone was leaving for work for the day, was nice, but too far and shit pay and no benefits so I had to get the fuck out, plus healthcare IT good for jobs wise and pay

It's pretty comfy desu. Just get to sit at my desk and get on with my work most of the time. Don't have to talk to people very often apart from mummy, but I do have to write emails or very occasionally answer the phone. As for my colleagues, I only really speak to the ones in my office, but they're all women and 40+ so it's pretty difficult to relate to them. Everyone else I just kind of ignore since they're all vapid as fuck and only talk about boring things like the weather and their children.

Overall little responsibility, manageable workload, decent pay and get to use a computer all day
>>
>>25899691
>Are you asking for too much for your starting salary
No. I always put 50 cents more than what job sites say they pay. If that's too much they can't call you in and discuss that shit?

And no, I have no criminal record and moved over a decade ago.

I work in the accounting department of a major healthcare software developer.

I do not like it much, but it is the best job I have had. It's really stressful a lot of the time, and most days I have no idea what I am doing. I also shudder thinking about the possibility of being there for the next several years.

It shouldn't be so hard to get an entry-level job, it's ridiculous. It's draining to have to put all this work in for the slightest chance at something that isn't even all that good.
>>
>>25899946
It's more about how you present yourself. I won't make any assumptions about your current methods, but drop some cash on some nice dress pants and a button up shirt. Go to your prospective employer and find someone high in management and tell them you had applied for a position, and were wondering when you would hear back.

Employers get shitloads of applications, and unless they're doing a mass hire or are desperate, they are probably not going to look at every single resume. You need to do something to put yourself in the front of the line.

>>
>>25902195
Education? You can be one without being a high school graduate.

Training depends on where you are aiming, a driver just needs a CDL Class B or higher. A monkey can get one.

In terms of further training, mostly everything you need to know will be shown to you on sight.

The whole smell thing is not a time thing, but a case to case thing. You will encounter something so rancid you will almost toss your lunch, then when encountering something else awful, it becomes less awful by comparison.

I have, some guns, lots of drug stuff, dead hooker once.

If you wanna work in trash, the best thing to know is this, you will start at the bottom, but most of the guys you work with did too.

Archaeological Field Technician here. $12.25/hr and it's boring/frustrating. Here's the TL;DR

My job fucking sucks. I went to school for 4 years getting an anthropology/archaeology degree, only to find out that I don't actually like archaeology at all. Turns out I just like reading about history and going to museums. Plus, the job I do now requires almost no intellectual engagement at all. Anyone with a high school education could be an archaeologist if they take like a 8 hour course teaching them about stone tools. If you're doing historic archaeology, you don't even need to fucking do that. You just need to know what dirty pottery and glass looks like. It's mindless and boring. Plus, because rain would ruin our paperwork, if it rains we miss a whole day of work aka a whole day of pay. I've also missed work because it was 13F and the ground was frozen solid. "Thankfully" we went out later in the afternoon and got to dig holes, fill them in, and find absolutely fucking nothing for 4 hours in 30F windy weather. Working as an archaeologist in the wintertime means that you won't get a full paycheck for three straight months, because at least one work day out of 2 weeks will be too rainy or cold to work. Just this past Tuesday I had to stand around chipping at frozen dirt in 19 degree weather for 4 hours, only to have our crew chief cancel the rest of the day because it was too cold to work. But probably the worst part for morale is finding out that half of my coworkers have Master's or Ph.D yet still only make between $0.50-$2 more an hour than me.
I'm quitting as soon as I have a viable alternative. Fuck archaeology.

I'm starting my job as a Pharmacy Technician at a CVS call center on Monday for $14/hr. I thought it was retail so I jumped at the offer but I was fucking wrong. I'm looking at a part-time lab tech job but that's going to basically entail centrifuging blood and feces for $14/hr.
>every lab job I've had sucks
>just want to do research
>need a master's to do shit

I work in biotech, and they also discriminate against women in my company. All the dudes are scared of a lawsuit, and they are married, and don't want to cheat on their wives. Plus women won't leave if you promote them into certain positions.

Not really what I want to be doing long term. But the job market where I live is fucking shit so I am lucky I have what I have. Will probably stick around this jobfor maybe 2 more years then look for a better paid job once I have more experience.

i work as a host and line cook for a resturant, it's fine, i get two parts of a tip pool and two paychecks

I've been in the Navy for 8 years. THere are tons of autist robots like me here, particularly in the IT fields. I make 67k a year, about half of it is tax free. I had no experience and nothing other than a HS diploma when I joined.
>>

Software QA analyst, ~50k.

It's a nice line of work, but i can never fit in at any company to last longer than about a year; i think im too low key and don't socialize enough.

Are there any "good" jobs? I'm 21 and have no idea what the fuck I want to do aside from making a lot of money without working myself to death. Right now I cook food for minimum wage at a decent resteraunt and enjoy being around my co-workers, but I want more. I just don't know what to go for. How do you decide what sounds good when your hobbies are just vidya, anime, and dude weed lmao?
>>
Anyone here in IT have tips for getting my foot in the door with no experience? The only thing I have is an A+ cert and a HS diploma.

Engineering tech in a us manufacturing plant. It's alright, they've sent me to all kinds of schooling to learn cad and 3d modeling software, ladder logic programing and LabVIEW. I picked up on wiring on my own, we troubleshoot equipment that isn't working and do repairs too. Make about 65k/y with a hs diploma and experience. Love it.

Through a family connection I have access to some construction items at factory prices in China.

Decking and formwork. I get it cheaper and cheapest then what their own salesmen can give.
>>
>>25904695
Business is highly unlikely not to fail due to how much support I am getting from connections.

I already have people approaching me to buy stuff because I am already being recommended.

I will also have my own account on Alibaba which shows me as the factories official distributor in my home country. So anyone looking to buy in my country goes right to me.
They sell 20ish million USA per month from one factory alone on one product.

Psychiatric nurse. I work in the biggest one in new south wales. Its also the most under funded and statistically the most dangerous place to work in the state. I really like my job. I use badass machines and print ads that everyone in my city sees. Whenever I walk around anywhere I see my work up, it's kind of a cool feeling. I have lots of room for upward growth and one day I'm going to use all that I've learned to open my own art reproduction shop, as I'm also an artist.

> Attorney,
> It can be boring doing research/writing. Going to court and client interaction is fun. Writing is a bit more interesting than other writing in that you are debating another attorney often times, trying to refute their points/cases.
> Pay varies from 175/hr-350/hr depending on client and type of work to be done. Its my own practice so I can charge whatever I feel like, try to make a pay cut if someone cant afford the normal higher rates. Other times work for free for a 30-40% of payouts (which can range from 10k-80k)
> Honestly I dont make nearly as much money as you think because its my own practice I control the hours I work and how many clients I take on and sometimes do only a few days of work in an entire month

I also look for fire hazards and fap in the private bathroom sometimes.

Warehouse Foreman for a cable provider. It's comfy as shit: Not much lifting, a lot of it is tracking inventory by computer, testing returned and shipped equipment, and watching TV all day (almost all rooms in the building have cable).

I don't know. It's never good to start a business with a significant other. It can cause a lot of drama/breakups, then you quit your job, and 6 months at one place doesn't necessarily look good.
>>
>>25905038
Eh, I'm not sure what you've been told, but even the highest level nurses don't earn anywhere near that amount. They start on 21k a year (unless in London).

It's a notoriously stressful and low-paid job in the NHS, which is why there's a disproportionally high amount of foreigners doing it.

At a hospital. I mess with pallets of stock for maybe...2-3 hours a night then spend the rest of the time on my laptop playing games.

Nah man they make bank in some parts of the US. I knew a dude who worked in ICU night shifts and made $45 an hour. I can't think of many jobs that consistently pay as high as nursing. If you have experience you can make tons.

>>25904065

Yea it's funny they'll complain non-stop about not being able to work as programmers for indie game companies, but they certainly won't fight for the privilege of working around reproductive toxins. That kind of discrimination totally cool.

I'm a cook in a tiny take out/delivery place
>Do you like it?
I did before I realized everyone thinks I'm a giant piece of shit there

I don't even know, probably minimum wage. I guess like anywhere from 8-10 an hour. It's pathetic money but it was worth it for loving going to work every day. Now I kind of hate myself whenever I step foot in there and I just want to leave the state and stop pretending any of those people will ever give a fuck about me.

Dude be a truck driver. If you have no friends or family that you care about it is perfect. You'd probably have to give up dude weed unless you can get a prescription, and you'd be in a different town every week. All hotels have wifi now so you could play vidya when you're off.

It's honestly the best job for a robot and you can make lots of money these days,

I develop graphical interfaces for a building automation company. It sucks. I am the last step in the process, meaning if the programmers or field techs slack off and miss the dead line, I do too before I even start. Programmers leave out key features like logging and several data points I need to display. Management ignores me. I'm only told what building I need to work on and that's it. Sudden change in what the customer wants to see? Better not tell me. I've also been told I needed to complete a job three days before I was told about it. And the best part, since the customer only sees the interface, not the equipment, code, or designs, I get blamed for everything.
