As another fag who does logic, you need some meta-theory and to build up to that stuff senpai.

Logic and Structure by Van Dalen is good, supplemented by Enderton for the more mathy stuff, like Lowenheim Skolem. Then move on to Hodges Model Theory or go the set theory route. Goldblatt has a good book the hyperreals which will give you a good example on how to use ultraproducts and NSA. I believe in you!

What's up with Universities in the US having their students take so many different courses? Here in Australia what you nominate your degree/major to be is what you do, if you're doing a Maths degree you don't have to do history or IT shit

I did a topics in US history class for fun once. Actually was pretty nice. Interesting class, cool professor, easy A. While I didn't agree with everything he taught, he restored my faith in how academia treats WWII. Or maybe he at least had a better understanding of how history should be looked at.

He was very insistent about the fact that in history, there usually are no absolute facts other than dates. We can only read what someone else wrote about an event. These people who write history are subject to the same flaws that you and I are.

Depends. A lot of American schools apparently don't teach any integral calculus in Calc I, and spend a bunch of Calc II on that. I found Calc II to be much harder than Calc I. Ours was mostly about learning different ways to evaluate improper integrals and infinite series, and an introduction to diff eq.
