I lived alone for a week before the other guys arrived. It was bliss, less so with the others but we never spoke and avoided each other so it was mostly fine.

Just make sure your food is on point. My lack of eating really ruined me.

I go to sleep and wake up whenever I want, I can be on the computer and talking or listening to music out loud whenever I want, I can eat whatever and whenever I want, I can masturbate whenever I want, no one ever bothers me, I never have to talk to anyone, no one ever judges me or makes fun of me, I can study in peace at any time, no one breaks shit, or leaves dishes in the sink

gor my own place when i was 18.

it was weird for the first couple of months. it was hard to control myself, it was hard to maintain and keep the place clean.

but it eventrully felt good. walking around the house naked, staying up and playing loud music, doing whatever you want whenever you want.

my relationship with my parents vastly improved once i moved out. when i lived with them we constantly got into fights and what not, but then i moved, and we havent had a fight since.

Overall I recommend it, but there are two major downsides:

1. It's difficult to cook for one, you usually have to make 2-4 portions and eat the same thing for days

2. It's reeeeeeaaaaaaly easy to develop a porn addiction

You will go through a phase of eating takeout every day and living in filth, it's natural, but after 6-18 months you will get over it and really grow as a person

It's incredible. There's such a difference when you're truly "the master in your castle" compared to when you have a roommate, even if you never see each other. That feeling of pure freedom is totally worth it, OP.

I've lived alone for about 1.5 years. It's pretty sweet. I can do anything I want, whenever I want.

Don't really get lonely, I have friends at work if I need socialization.

Living alone is nice if you have a social life, you can bring people over, not worry about who is there for dates and wear no pants in the living room. If you have no one you might find it lonely or a way for you to step out of your comfort zone and meet new people.

Its a love-hate ordeal. On one hand, its my home that I've lived at all my life and is comfy as fuck. No bills or anything.

If you don't have a pet, it's pretty awful. I went through college with a ton of roommates, but I now have a job and live in a 1br in the city. I got so used to having people readily available to hang out that now it just feels lonely and depressing. I drink by myself and play with my cat a lot. It's also really expensive. Most of my friends with roommates live in way nicer places and pay less than I do.

I wouldn't recommend it, honestly. I'm trying to move into a house up here with some roommates once my current lease ends. The only real advantage is that you don't have to clean up other people's messes, but unless you're an OCD neatfreak faggot, that's absolutely not worth the loneliness.

I Guess I was always a loner had a shit childhood and shit parents ran away 2 years ago and that was the most important decision I've ever made some coworkers helped me find my own place and well Got a 2 bedroom apartment and have 2 roommates that I let live with me free of charge because I'm a lonely ass fuck and can't cope being alone. Honestly I'd prefer having roommates as geeky as me. to bad I live in a small ass town and those kinda people don't exist here. Second roommate was a hardcore anime nerd pretty cool he mods a group on facebook called Otaku Army got him a job at wal-mart where I work at he's pretty chill but he wanted to get his own house so he could start his own family.

Current roommate is well someone who doesn't really talk to that much he;'s always in his room or at work he used to play magic at FNM but he's really burned out I suppose.

I've lived alone since I was 18 (minus the summer between my fresh and sophmore).

You don't have to worry about other people and their plans and needs so much.

You do have to take care of all of your own shit (buying groceries, cooking, laundry, utilities, bills, hooking up internet, basic home repairs, decorating, cleaning, dealing with the landlord etc. etc.) that you may or may not have dealt with in the past. You can also drink/smoke whatever more wherever, whenever if you're into that sort of thing.

But that's just part of being an adult.

More autonomy but more responsibility.
