You need friends and social skills to develop a client base. You need to source good drugs, be reliable, be discreet, and be cool enough to hang out with that people will want to keep buying from you.

Plus most dealers have to leave their place to go sell. Pretty rare that you can exclusively have folks come over to your place to pick up. I've known a lot of people who have gotten busted, and literally every one had someone wear a wire and come do a controlled buy in their place
