Has anyone used Spruce to get a prescription? It's $40 and just done over the app, seems cheaper and more convenient, but the issue is Spruce prescribes 1 mg finasteride, and I could probably get a normal doc to prescribe 5 mg proscar.
I've heard cutting 5 mg proscar is the cheapest way to get fin, but what about 1 mg generic? How much would it cost?
>>24058751 I'm past Norwood II.Noticed receding hairline 3 years ago 18.also I'd shed like crazy every morning in the shower when I started puberty, and received comments about a thin crown in middle school
how long does it take for minoxidil to work? after one month i dont see a difference yet, hair only looks darker in the new picture because of the flash i think and on close inspection i can see ive lose some hairs
i used to count 15 hairs on the pillow in the morning, mostly thick ones now im counting 50+ and most of them are small weak thin hairs. hopefully im shedding the weak ones to grow strong ones in their place.
>>24058896 No, you need at least 1 mg. Try to get the 5 mg tablets, those make it really cheap. Taking more is not more effective though.
Also to anyone who is balding, don't wait too long. I waited two years before I started taking finasteride and using minoxidil. I really regret that now, I lost so much hair that I could have saved. It's now growing back quite a bit, went from VI to III. Really good progress for only a year but it could have been better.
>>24059025 Me too. I like suddenly got Normwood II with extremly thin hair at the age of 15 and now im riding the wild ride of slowly progressing hair thinnening and balding. Right now im 18 and in Normwood III without the hairloss on the back of the head. My father got Normwood II shit at 12 years, so atleast his shitty hair genetics improved a bit in me.
>>24061078 or i may be one of the 60% who get no regrowth. ah well i only bought 3 Mos worth. if i dont have any regrowth by then should i buy more or just get on finasteride? i use liquid Kirkland bc its cheaper and hairs too long for foam but the liquid produces flaking
>Androgenetic alopecia or common male pattern baldness (MPB) accounts for more than 95% of hair loss in men. By the age of thirty-five two-thirds of American men will experience some degree of appreciable hair loss, and by the age of fifty approximately 85% of men have significantly thinning hair. Approximately twenty five percent of men who suffer with male pattern baldness begin the painful process before they reach the age of twenty-one.
>Contrary to societal belief, most men who suffer from male pattern baldness are extremely unhappy with their situation and would do anything to change it. Hair loss affects every aspect of the hair loss sufferer's life. It affects interpersonal relationships as well as the professional lives of those suffering. It is not uncommon for men to change their career paths because of their hair loss.
>The American Hair Los Association recognizes how devastating male pattern baldness can be for men of all ages, and has created resources for men to get completely objective answers to their hair loss questions.
>We strongly advise against researching your options through the yellow pages or commercial websites. There are hundreds of products and services being sold to the vulnerable hair loss consumer, but currently there are only two FDA approved products that have been clinically proven to stop or prevent hair loss. In addition, only a handful of surgeons are performing surgical hair restoration to state of the art standards.
>>24061641 >Approximately twenty five percent of men who suffer with male pattern baldness >of men who suffer with male pattern baldness If 10% of men suffer from male pattern baldness, that would mean 2.5% had it start before age 25.
>>24062010 If you have soft features you look like shit bald. If you're slim you look like a cancer patient. I can't grow a beard and need glasses I don't want to look worse than moby. My hair has always been my main feature Combover /comb forward up to nw2.5 and no one notices. Treatment can keep you there into your thirties or even regrow, and by then you can afford a transplant. See Ashton Kutcher
>>24062165 Some people can just never get big. Best I can do natty is ottermode. And bulking is much more expensive than treating your hair, plus there's tons of science showing health benefits of calorie restriction so ottermode=peak fitness but you need hair for it to work.
>>24062331 1 - that shit costs a lot 2 - it only lasts as long as you take pills and shit 3 - I pride myself in never taking any pill on my whole life and I certainly won't start now 4 - health problems could happen and ED is the last thing I'd want 5 - Taking that shit would damage my pride more than balding
>>24062360 You maybe I'm 22 right now and have a full set of hair I feel bad for people that bald though because its one of those things that I think could happen to me and one of those things we can't even really prevent or help only slow it down with drugs that more than likely have a downside to them
Unlike women who really don't have to worry about any of this(I think?)
>>24062416 yeah women make me laugh sometimes >hurr I have to deal with period blood At least you don't have to deal with a bald head at 21 yo >durr giving birth is one of the greatest pains ever how about having your dick mutilated at birth and having an ugly ass scar remind you every time you look at it
>>24062395 Sides are way overblown . There are people think it made them gay. There are much more dangerous medications that don't get any horror stories. And no horror stories from people taking it for their prostate. It's psychosomatic from ocd bald guys.
And it's pretty cheap. Minox and niz are a few bucks a month, fin around a dollar a day tops as long you arent on brand name propecia. It costs a lot more to be buff and bald, wasting time and money shaving, gym memberships, supplements, and an increased expenditure on food.
>>24062518 and not to mention the mutilation removing your frenulum. which is where all the pleasure comes from. head constant exposed becomes desensitized. its like cutting off their clits. But then they get to have pleasure from their tits and penetration too.
>>24062431 >ROBOTS FAP A LOT SO THEY HAVE A LOT OF LIBIDO THAT IS SUSTAINED BY CONSTANT PORN USE AND MASTURBATION But when you go on nofap the port and maturation stops sustaining the libido and you go on a flat line where you get no erections no sexual desire and if you don't get erections to regularly stretch your dick out it will lose elasticity and shrink
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3481923/ >Another small study reported three cases of young men, who had used finasteride for five years, investigated for male Infertility. Semen quality was investigated by light microscopy to evaluate sperm concentration and motility, sperm morphology by transmission electron microscope (TEM), presence of Y microdeletions by PCR, and meiotic segregationby fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). TEM analysis revealed altered sperm morphology consistent with necrosis and FISH data revealed elevated diploidy and sex chromosome disomy frequencies. One year after the men had stopped the use of finasteride without receiving any other treatment, a recovery of spermatogenetic process was observed. Motility and morphology improved whereas the meiotic pattern did not change. >the meiotic pattern did not change
AKA your sperm gets mutated for life But at the same time >A long term study showed that drug-related sexual side effects such as decreased libido, ED, and ejaculatory disorders occurred in <2% of men. These side-effects disappeared not only in all men who stopped the drug because of the side effects but also in most of those who continued therapy. The incidence of each side effect mentioned decreased to <0.3% by the fifth year of treatment with finasteride. The incidence of side effects were comparable to that of placebo both at one year and at 5 years.
>>24062784 >your dick out it will lose elasticity and shrink
At 15 I had a full head of hair that grew too fast for my liking. I hated having to comb and style it everyday. So I started getting really short fades, which I had to do every 2 weeks.
At 17 I said fuck it and started buzzing it down to nothing. Much better. Then a friend of mine dared me to shave it. Did it, loved it, kept shaving for a few years.
At 21 I watched Chad's getting all the girls in the bars and said, I'm growing my hair out again...months later I realized I was at Type IV Norwood...wtf?
Kept growing it and made due for a few years, but kept getting "are you losing your hair?" comments. Finally one hairdresser asked "do you want me to not cut any on top since it's so thin?" Went back to shaving it and have been doing that ever since. I'm 27 now.

This means side effects are merely psychosomatic manifestations. Fin has been around since the 90s but the horror stories didn't come out until the Internet Propecia support groups.
