heard of a guy who had a similar thing when he was a kid. literally had to sit on a pink chair for timeout. apparently he is still pretty messed up about it.

Mental punishments are better than physical ones though. We tend to avoid mentally traumatizing events more naturally. So sitting in the "I'm a whinny ugly bitch" for 10 minutes will instill more fear than being hit with a belt for a minute or two.

It's not like the little girl would be scared for life. Maybe salty for a few hours after her punishment but she would be psychologically okay. What would mess her up is being beaten for anything she does wrong every day.

60 minutes is too long for a child's punishment if all they can do is sit in a chair and wait it out.
