I had a similar situation. I was always the funny guy in school, not hideous or anything, just extremely nervous around girls. I made these two stacey's laugh nonstop when doing a project with them in 4th grade and it was the first time i came out of my shell and made friends with girls. I still was nervous around them and eventually cut contact with them. Fast forawrd to 8th grade I learn that one of the girls had a huge crush on me since then.
