So what you're asking for is serious anime with some supernatural elements? If you liked Death Note you might like Code Geass, but it's /m/ crossover, so that may not be your taste. Hellsing Ultimate, if you don't mind vampires. If you didn't like Bleach, probably stay away from the Shonen genre altogether. And if you haven't seen Boku no Pico yet, you really should.

Frankly, for people new to anime I usually suggest they just watch everything they can get their hands on, to find out what they like. Buffet approach.

I'm loosely figuring you're in a teenage Goth place, looking for something dark. Tokyo Ghoul, maybe. But in six months maybe you'll have used up the angst and want to watch Strawberry Marshmallow.

You could get more if you could be more specific about what you were looking for. I mean, if you wanted monsters and gore, Parasyte. If you were looking more for story, maybe Red Garden or Le Chevalier D'Eon.

Try to put your finger on the qualities of the series you liked that made you like them. Again, tat may not be possible for you at your current level of experience, but keep it in mind.

Well I like how serious Monster and Death note are there's very little comedy and I also kind of like there to be a super natural element but for it to be mostly hidden from everyone else besides the main character and also I like a criminal element like both monster and Death note have. What constitutes good, much less great, by way of story is going to be tough to pin down. Tastes are subjective, after all.

It's not number of characters or plot complexity that you like, Bleach has those in spades. So I'm going to go with depth of character exploration or degree of angst. Watch Ergo Proxy and Red Garden.

There's a possibility you might actually enjoy Neon Genesis Evangelion (EVA). Before you touch it, understand that it's Anno trying to work through his personal issues with human intimacy (family, friends, co-workers). It's depressing, mainly because it's relateable (if you can't relate to it, it's giant bio-mechs versus aliens).

Well the thing is I actually really liked the first season of bleach, I just got tired of the soul Society cause I felt like I was watching them there for like 3 seasons and after they got back to the regular world things seemed really slow so I stopped watching. Been thinking of rewatching and just skipping a little past where I stopped.

If you stopped watching in one of the filler seasons, especially the Bount one, nobody can blame you. Sometimes you just have to tough it out through a dozen awful episodes to get to where it comes back on the rails. I like Bleach, for the most part, but I can't say it's consistently good.

What and how you watch is up to you. If you want to skip whole seasons, I can tell you that's wrong, but that's just my opinion. In some circumstances you might be better off reading the manga instead of watching it. I know Gantz was so much better that way.

I've seen the first season, I don't know if there's more. Sometimes they do that. Basically, weird people with various special attacks based on telekinetic manipulation of blood are forced to fight each other. It's not that simple, of course. But the basic trope is the main character is given a power and must to do battle using it. That's like a third of anime right there.

It occurs to me that you probably haven't seen AMV Hell yet. AMVs are a good way to sample a series quickly, but they tend to show only the most awesome bits, so take them with a grain of salt.
