X-Raying isn't magic. You can often tell if a photo will work on not simply by looking at it for 5 seconds.

X-Raying doesn't remove layers of clothing, it just brings out pixels that are hidden/hard to see from photos. It really only works with people who are wearing one layer of clothing because thats has the best chance of being see through. If a nipple is perking out through a shirt, X-Raying can reveal the areola

Think about it like this, if you were to stretch thin t-shirt out in front of your face, you can kinda see through it. X-Raying does just that, makes it kinda see through, defining a little more than what they eye can pick up.

For why it doesn't work with large clothing, refer back to the t-shirt example. With a t-shirt, you can kinda see stuff through it, but what about a sweatshirt? You can't see shit through that. Multiple layers of clothing, bad quality, patterns, and bad lighting can make X-raying impossible
