not my best but okay i guess

If you're using photoshop, try using select - color range instead of drawing out a shape. that will help get rid iif the sharp boundary that makes the x-rays really unbeleivable

then try to make the x-rayed skin match the skin-tone of whatever you can actually see. this is the most important part. if you can get the color balance, and the brights and darks to match you can really start to get it to blend and look 'real'
