The Kingdom of the Kaltani grew great by the hands of pious and noble men, and rose to hold dominion over the entirety of the Vale of Sappho, from the foothills of the Andrast mountain range, the domain of giants, to the ocean. It's towns grew rich, the stalwart defences of each Earl saving his people from the ravages of raiding, and the predations of the fae and old folk. Monasteries restored ancient Knowledge, and the King's Warband found many triumphs against the Elves and creatures of the woods.

Alas, Kaltan could not last. Earls grew rebellious under child kings, and the church grew weary of constant taxation, stretching the bonds of the Kingdom to their limits. Into the shattering kingdom came the vengeful armies of the Old Folk, who now gather darkly on the borders, ravaging defenceless settlements and growing bolder and bolder. The fear of collapse and slavery looms, Will you fight the tide, or join it?
