>>

They're OP because they are fucking dragons. Big ass wing having dragons. Fire breath or elemental breath doesnt equal magical prowess.
>>
>>827811
In most D&D/Pathfinder games dragons have magical abilities on par with most top tier wizards/sorcerers. Why not just make the class a humanoid dragon species they have something like that in the game and it works relatively well.

Because the people didn't vote for fucking Humanoid dragons they wanted big ass retarded flying lizard faggots.
If people would rather have reptilian wizard folk then they can revote.

You have led your brethren from the ancient caves you called home. Years ago a war between your ancestors and the races of man and mer left Dragons sealed away, over time your once gigantic ancestors became smaller over generations to adjust to life in the caves. An earthquake opened the massive stone that trapped your kind and once more Dragons were released on the world only remembered through ancient tales and children's stories.

Your name is Namioth.
You have led the remaining 8 Dragons into a ruined Elven city at the base of the mountain you called home. The ancient smooth golden and white stone is now dirty and broken. You take residence in what was once a towering spire and it's surrounding buildings that lie mostly unmolested by time.
Most of the city lies blocked by rubble and decay, perhaps some materials or loot waits to be found. Then again perhaps the city is infested with a less than civilized race.

You order the 3 dragons that sti have the wing strength to fly to scout around the city for anything of value. You'll have to start rebuilding the fortune that was revered by your kind for generations before the war and even after, the hoard that gained your grandfather the name of Gilmatrix the Golden, you wonder what you'll be remembered as.

As your men scout the city you put the others to work using the still impressive strength still preserved to begin removing the rubble from the city, once the city square is cleared this will be much more roomy and fitting to house the mythical beings.

(15% of the city is now cleared)

I rolled the 2d10.
You got double 1's. Good luck.

As your men move rubble from what was once the Prison a mass of marble rises from the ground fiercely, tossing one of your men to the side damaging his wings, he'll never be able to fly again.
Your men retreat as the Marble Construct rampages amoungst the rubble, the elves must have left him here to defend the city before they evacuated. You'll plan on how to deal with him later.

Your scouts report there is sign of a war party to the west of your city, they appear to be humanoid and there is well over a humdred but it cannot be confirmed what they are as the scouting partying was too scared to go closer for confirmation.

===Current Threats===
-Marble Construct within city
-Unknown Race to the west, massive in size

You figure the best way to combat anything is with fire. Though the main problem being you've yet to infise your breath and your people's breath with an elemental power.

You consult your scouts and ask if there was fire present at the war party's campsite, they tell you it was. You decide to send one of your men to take the elemental power of an outlying fire and bring it back to share with the clan.

You also make up your mind about the safety of your people, you'll begin fortifying the spire, stables and barracks as they are the onky buildings you've uncovered so far that can count as shelter.

You and your mem spend the remainder of the day fortifying and setting up defenses for the portion of the city you've uncovered.

Any breaches in the buildings have been sealed by large pieces of marble or stone and the beginning of a 4ft high wall made from marble columns has been started it will take one full day to complete. After which it can be upgraded to be taller.

Your scout returned eminating heat, you and your clan watched him unleash the awesome power of his fiery breath upon a stack of hay bales creating a massive fire in the center of your camp. You and the rest of your men absorb the power from the inferno and feel the elemental power of flame infused in your very breath.

The scout also identified the war party as near 50 dwarves, it appears your last scout had exaggerated. They were too drunk to notice your scout snuff out a campfire and skulk away.

The thunderous sounds of the Construct have faded and the city is once again silent.

You organize a small hunting party and they set off into the woods looking for prey. After a few hours they return with 3 deer and a small collection of rabbits, most already roasted from the newly found flame breath.
You and your men feast and fall asleep collectively rubbing your stomachs with content, it's good to be free.

You awake the next morning and can hear the sounds of a deep drum to the west. There's also the matter of the Marble Construct that's impeding any more excursions into the ruined city.

You and a small team of Dragons begin moving up the massive spire clearing rubble, you make it to the second floor and find a library. Most of the books and scrolls are too decayed to read but a few scrolls are still legible and covered with strange symbols and incantations, you remember tails from the elder-scale about Elven Sorcerers and their powerful magic. The minimal magic you contain should still be enough to invoke the power of the scrolls should you want to risk it. Until you reach a decision you restrict access to the second floor.

You decide that the war party will be an issue especially since they are manned by one of the races that fought to imprison you. In a stroke of brilliance you decide to strike two birds with a single stone and devise a very sneaky plan to lure the Marble Construct to the edge of the city where the War Party is estimated to arrive.

You send a small team of dragons to taunt the Marble Giant. Small bursts of flame infuriate the Construct who takes wild swings and gives lumbering chase. He is led to the ancient road leading out the western end of the city, there he blends into the massive piles of marble that were once a grand and welcoming arch. Your dragons quickly flee and leave the Construct to calm down in the path of the traveling war band.

You also order the conversion of the stables into a nursery of sorts. Using your breath you liquify the rocks blocking the breach in the rear corner allowing them to meld together and become a much better barricade. You use the ancient hay to form small warm nests in the stable stalls, you now have a safe place to keep your young when you decide to have a female lay the next generation.

You decide to study the scrolls you found in the tower library. The brittle paper is hard to hold in your large claws but you manage, you begin to read.
The words are pure gibberish to you but you manage to make a few observations. The runes on each scroll differ in color, Yellow, Green and Black.

You hear the war drums getting closer and decide to hide along side your clan and watch the coming conflict. You count and it appears to be a party of 55 Dwarves. Most of them carrying axes or some sort of hammer, their small well muscled arms are certainly capable of wielding them effectively, you watch with bated breath as they pass a pile of a marble. You watch in equal awe and horror as the massive Marble Construct raises his foot and crushes a handful of Dwarves beneath it with a wet crunch.
You see the dwarves wielding begin charging the Construct and swinging with all their might, small chunks of marble fly off as small chunks of dwarf go every where from a hearty kick. Nearly half of the Dwarven war band has been destroyed or mutilated, you see their commander, riding on a metal cart pulled by two small ponys, hop off the cart and lift a massive hammer that lightly shimmers with magical energy.

You have the passing thought of trying to help the Dwarves defeat this Goliath and maybe earn an ally or perhaps they turn on you. Alternatively you could allow the Dwarves to be destroyed letting the tale of the monster protecting the ruins spread. It'll either keep people away or draw in glory seekers.

You spend the next year making various improvements to your new home starting of course with constructing a new undergound area to horde your treasures. Hanging on the wall in a position of honor is the Dwarf Commander's Enchanted Hammer.

You spend the time also finishing the wall you started and even increasing it's size. While you haven't spent much time delving into the city, somewhat out of fear of more constructs, you have spent the time repairing your tower.
Now with fewer breaches and starting to regain some of it's beauty. You split up some of the adults and send them to loot deeper in the city as well as the surrounding area they should return the next day with loot and reports.

You ask Cristobal to raise stone pens to help collect animals Freindal does his part as well by heloing to collect herbivores for the pen.

You ask your mate to study the scrolls and hopefully..shine some light..on the situation as far as magic goes, she makes her office in the old library.

Roll me 2d100 for loot from the city and surrounding areas.

The babies are born and your son is presented to you, what will you name him?

Later that same day your scouts return from thse city carrying a large wooden chest. Upon opening it you find piles of gold and silver along with a few precious jewels. The city scouts report a bank deep in the city that will be impossible to gain full access to until the debris is mostly cleared from the city.

--EXITING TIME SKIP--
The scouts from the outer area return with baskets of fruit and salted meats. Apparent gifts from a small village of Halflings to the south. They are having a bug issue and request a meeting with you.

What would you like to do?

You decide to meet with the Halfling chief. Along with a small group of your dragons.

Upon arrival of the village a large feast has been set and the farming folk have retreated to their small huts. It seems only the Chief and a few diplomats have decided to attend this meeting.

"Why hello...sir.." the chief starts obviously very nervous.
"I've heard the legends of dragons and some Dwarves have been speaking about flying reptile like monsters in what was once Vhaldr. But the monsters appeared to be building and keeoing to themselves so when two of them arrived yesterday giving us quite a shock but not ravaging out homestead, I decided I might as well ask to meet their leader for help."
A few of your men breath a small burst of flames at the use of the word monster
"Getting to the point..your majesty? We have an infestation of Giant Wasps in the forest where we hunt and fish..if we cannot hunt or fish one bad crop could wipe out our village. I'm sure we can work out some sort of deal, you seem very...reasonable."

You give your terms to the Halfling and he graciously accepts. Every week they will setnd you a cache of fruits, vegetables, and dried meats.

You and your small party of dragons head to the forest that's giving the halflings so many problems and see there is indeed an infestation of Giant Wasps, about the size of the common sheperd dog. They have small hives in a cluster and from what you see 15 wasps seem to inhabit the area.

You set up an ambush. Giant wasps couldn't resist easy prey for their queen, so you send one of your dragons to do his best display of what you assume a dying man does. After a few stumbled steps and a clutch of the heart Glorthir collapses within view of a nest, five wasps come out to investigate and that's when you ambush them.
Using the strong gales created by Wind breathe you contain the giant bugs in a single area unable to fly do to intense wind.
You order them to be made quick work of and your Earth infused dragons breath a mighty breath over the wasps turning their wings to stone. The wasps drop and their wings shatter they die unable to support their body weight on small spindly legs.

WASP POPULATION: 10

A few of your more scholastic men suggest stoning their stingers therefore making them harmless and perhaps good pack animals or labor.
A few more remind you attempting this would be very tricky and may put your men at risk.
Of course there is the option of just continuing your wasp genocide.

What would you like to do?
>>

Herm, Well, assuming she doesn't come out of her nest, we can keep the queen alive...

Can the queen reproduce on her own or does she require a mate?

If on her own, continue genocide and then devise plan to trap queen, she probably can't/wont do much on her own.

No more games. Now is the time for the total extermination of this pest, you put together assault teams of three and send them into the forests to destroy this menace. All three teams return disheartened, team two seems to have lost a man somewhere in the forest. The third team is happy to report they managed to kill a single wasp. You sigh and ponder what to do next.

1 Dragon is lost and wandering the woods.
Wasps are pissed and now will be harder to combat.

Have two scouts fly overhead to find our lost comrade. Hopefully he will have his wits about him to be thinking the same.

Secondly, How alive is the woods, is it lush or otherwise wet? we could just attempt to burn them all if we have low risk of a blaze breaking out, so if the forest is green and our firebreathing isn't too hard to control, lets just light them up.

You send three of your flyers to head over the forest and find your lost man.
You also leave behind one more Dragon, the actor. Drahdi goes to the Halfling village to learn more about diplomacy and proper speech from the masters of it.

Even three men down you know speed is the key to defeating these wasps, you go in hard and fast. Your dragon squadron moving in and using precision bursts of flame to destroy nests and roast wasps. You order your men to keep the queen alive but as you get close your squadron is blocked by 3 wasps in pure black shell and dull red eyes.
The guardian wasps, a speciak breed of wasp that protects the queen viciously.

What is your plan of attack?
>>
>>834504
Even better! Flame them. They will cook in their own armor. It should actually kill them even faster than if they didn't have that armour becouse the heat can't escape (at least in theory thats how it would work).
>>
I think we should have the earth element dragon use his element to send spears of earth from ground to attack the guardians or just pelt them with rocks if not skilled enough yet. Also if nest is in a tree have the earth dragon sink the tree to bring nest closer to ground level.

We could keep the queen for food. A sack of eggs that produces children constantly with no mate, who age extremely fast in exchange for inedible resources like grass? Ill take it. Although, I wouldn't imagine it would be the most appetizing steak in the world...
