And then with Cartwheel and Walk Stab Walk I have some skills.

It's a little unclear if the A pool is = or ^.

Actually how does that work?

The parallelogram is the same as the = sign, yes? There are only 2 types of action, not 4 types, right?

You get A = = and B = ^. Basically 4 A and 3 B, except for the =/^ ^ exchange rate

Your A pool is what you usually use, while Preparing and certain skills let you make use of B.

do you have any template we can fill? how do def/guard work? why does my shield have 5dmg 1 def? what is full cover? Do I have to spend any ^ or = to use my skills or are they passive? how do cleave[U] interact with overkill? what do you test against HP when you use avalanche[U]? can you word overbear[U] a different way?

Thanks for the questions, I need to know where my explanations are weak.

Your shield can be used to hit, though your sword will usually serve you better. When Guarding, you the weapon you use to do so blocks its dmg worth of damage from enemies before you can be hurt. Your shield also has Brace, which doubles this value. You also add its Def score, bringing its Guard value to 11.

Since it has a defense score, a Guard performed with it suffers only normal damage from ranged attacks. Other weapons will suffer double.

Full cover has a 3/4 chance of being hit by a ranged attack instead of targets behind it.

For Canine, all skills but rally are passive, though you still need to spend on the appropriate actions.

If the first target of a Cleave attack dies, the overkill damage is passed on to the next target.

Tests will come up eventually. I'll look at Overbear.

Sort of. Prepared actions have a few things they trigger on automatically. Moves upon enemy reaching melee range or attacking; Attacks upon enemy moving; Contests upon a soul becoming available. Guard occurs immediately though.

Provoking actions begin first, then the Prepare. A provoking attack will always hit first, and a provoking move goes 1 square before you respond.

Advantage is gained by more things contesting the soul, Corrupted vs Nobles. Hold advantage for 2 turns to win. If multiple units are on the winning side the first one to contest gets the soul.

Again, ^ to contest.

Vigilance's damage is based on unspent actions and untriggered Prepares before the attack action is spent. So, if prepared with Dilation, its first attack deals 10 dmg. You need to choose either Vigilance or Urgency.

For Flinch, you need to choose now whether it applies to Moves or Attacks. I think the new sheet explains its working a bit better.

There should be a line under Feline that says they can move items between inventory and hand for free. Not sure what happened to it.

Also, I'll be using templates provided by the original Noble Magics DM for combat. The drawings have a nice atmosphere, but we have more to gain from quick updates than what liveness I can provide to the fights. I'll still draw in exploration phase when appropriate.
