Get ready for some thoroughly evil retro-dungeon-crawling! This is a stand alone quest in the Legacy Quest setting. No background knowledge or lore required, only a desire to uphold the darkness, and slay the puppets of the light!

This is the story of one of those born of shadow one of three demonic brothers spawned by ancient ritual, in the deepest pits, never touched by light... Now remind me, what was the demons name?

Thanks dude, good to be back. Willow's quest is frozen in the middle of a battle with golems. I've been super busy recently so I have struggled to fit her in. I'll spill a secret though, she only has one more hostile room to go before she's through the dwarf city... Which basically means the end of LQ "Book One". Basically an excuse for a shiny reboot with a new character, and proper dungeon rooms again! Things will change as the battle for the land grows fiercer!

Crashah was his name, and although he and his brothers were the closest thing the entity we know as the Darkness had to sons, he was afforded no special treatments. Thrown in amongst the scum of the depths, Crashah forged his position of power, his reputation, the fear that went with his name, alone.

Now as you know, Crashah's got to where he was through his greatest strength, which was of course...

- His might , none could stand in the way of his furious strength.
- His will , that which he wanted, he made reality.
- His guile , through deception and manipulation, he worked from the shadows

It's mostly so I can tell at least one or two people on this board that I'm not dead. Plus, if anybody without a twitter gets really curious, they can always google it and check, without having to buy into more social media accounts.

Seeing as it's just the one vote, I'll draw that up.

It's cool famalam, hope its nothing miserable.

As I was saying, Crashah was never without his greatsword. The blade was bonded to him, and grew in power as he did, warping to suit his actions and deeds.

As a one off quest, loot doesn't have the luxury of being multi-generational, so Crashah will focus more on building and upgrading what he's got, rather than hoarding things his offspring might find useful. His greatsword is relatively plain and simple now, but it will change depending on how you play, and possibly which upgrades you pick.

Unfortunately I can't be up too late tonight, so we'll have to end soon, but at least we've got the character creation out of the way!

Now, one of the first deeds Crashah became famous for was his victory over the hidden temple at Amfir... An ancient cavern that housed a secretive cloister of warrior monks, dedicated to the service of the Light.

His underlings had been hard at work to locate this bastion of resistance, and as Crashah set off into the black tunnels, his favoured underling appraised him of the situation. Of course, you can guess who this trusted lieutenant...

>Brakfir, the colossal red orc.
>Dwenry, the lethal goblin assassin.
>Lamakshi, the dark elven sorceress.

This decision will decide your second in command, and what they specialise in. You might occasionally fight alongside them, but more often they'll oversee your forces, and act as a secondary attack force when you're busy. .
>>
>>779052
Don't worry dude, this thread will run for a few days. I need sleep soon anyway.

The siege of Amfir will commence tomorrow, all things allowing. One more choice before I finish for the night.
>>
>>779087
All ears, OP
>>
Lamakshi approaches, her onyx skin barely visible in the darkness of the tunnels. Only the motion of her silken robes flowing behind her as she glides along give any real indicator of the path she walks.

"My lord, the temple is well guarded. We have a preliminary plan of attack in place. A two pronged attack will be our best chance, one of us must charge the fortifications, and break through as many layers of defence as possible. The other must be ready to exploit the monks distraction, breaking through the weakened guard, and slaughtering the leadership in charge of marshalling the defence."

You nod, and think for a moment.

"Which role will you play then my liege? In the thick of the fray, or the deadly shock troop?

You answer without pause.

"I will be where the battle is thickest."

For a moment, Lamakshi's stern expression falters, for just long enough to see the young elf behind the witch of the depths. She seems amused, but as quick as a wink, its gone, and her face is an emotionless mask once again.

"As I suspected. Overwhelming force has always been your forte. I'll mark on your charts the best route of approach. Fight well my lord."

She turns and heads away, presumably to prepare herself for her role in the attack.

Your power has increased, but your enemies will now be more aware of you. This trade off will not always be easy, and you'll have to decide when the power is worth it, and when it is not.

Choose how you will channel your new power:
>Slaughter - Crits now do normal crit damage, but also give you another automatic hit (for normal damage).
>Thirst - You may heal 1 HP for each good aligned living enemy you kill (after the battle is over, or at the cost of 1 AP per use for an adjacent dead enemy during combat).

Not low enough for instakill, not high enough to get away with it... Quick re-write and drawing was needed...

You block the next bolt that the orbs send at you, causing an surge of energy, shattering the glass... Whatever was powering the orbs comes rushing out, and begins to swarm you...

Roll for initiative, 10+ means you go first, if not, you go last!

You slice your sword through one of the fey creatures, and feel it dissipate as your blade makes contact. You step back and stand in a defensive stance, ready for the onslaught...

The wisps rush you, and two of them let out crackling bursts of energy...

14+ to hit the big, tough, blocking demon.

Any double with a d12 have 1/12 of happen, so a double double would be 1/144.
Or, if I'm full of shit on this one, 1/1728 but I'm not sure since they were rolled 2 by 2 and not all at once.
I'm pretty sure that changes everything, so I'd say 1/144 but who knows ? Not me.
>>
Rolled 1 (1d3)

Well there's (12^4) 20736 different combos from 4d12. I guess there are 12 of those in which all 4 of the rolls are the same (4x1, 4x2, 4x3... 4x12), which I guess gives 12/20736? Fuck I don't know. How am I being this bad at maths, I do stats all the time.

Roll for damage will be doubled.

I know this but you always get fucked with probabilities, especially when not rolling all at once.

Like you may think you have 1/36 to roll a double d6 but you actually have 1/6 since only the second dice need to match the first, regardless of what it is.

So i we "make" a dWTF that has a shitton of faces but has 1/12 of beign a double and we throw a second one to have a double double, the first one shouldn't matter ?
So we have 1/12 to have the second dice be a double, and 1/12 having it match the first dWTF.
It is 1/1728, or 12/20736.
Fuck me, I forgot to take in account that the second dice throw had to be a double too.
So in the end it didn't matter that all dice were rolled at once or not.

tl;dr 1/1728 of any quads with d12.

>>797995
Roll.
>>
>>798001
It basically depends on whether you're asking the odds of rolling 4 of the same d12, or if you've rolled the first two, and you're asking the odds of two more. But yeah, if you take the first as double as a given the odds drop a lot ofc.

Nice roll too, shame you didn't get the extra hit on a crit power! Roll 2d12, second is doubled. If it's a double 8, the room explodes.

>>
>>798682
Fun, as always, I liked being the bad guys but those color squares were meh, I was confused at first that our ennemies were green when I only realized that we were red.
So please keep it to the original next time.

>being flaky
I know that feel so nah, it's okay, I was glad to see you after all that time anyway.
>>
>>798728
Yeah, fair enough. I thought it might hammer home the point that you're the bad guy, but I can see hoe it might be confusing.

Did you enjoy playing as a highly powered character for a change? I appreciate you got hit pretty hard by weak enemies anyway, but you got a taste of being more than a mere human (albeit one from a long line of heroes).
>>
Rolled 48 (1d100)

>>798786
Yeah, that was pretty fun even if felling weird at first, I mean
>WOW A FUCKING D12

But still having the original concept of your quest, and even if we haven't crossed into the fire like it was obvious we should have, you learnt to not be a super duper dick by not one-shotting us. I suspect you'd have in early quests

I loved having a non-human character, thing we can't do in the original quest, it opens more easily to do whatever the fuck we want and damn I love doing chaos-drived characters because we don't have a legacy to carry on, so, no need to be afraid of fucking up.

So basically, 8/10 would play again.

Maybe add some abilities from start and scrap the character progression part as we're basically doing a little game.
I don't know man, do what you're the best at, I'm just throwing ideas and damn I should be sleeping for a while now.

Rolling for nighty night.
>>

It was fun and good as always with the added bonus of your drawings.

As my name suggests, i cant always be here, but you are a quest i am always sure to jump into!

>>798843
I thought 25 HP was a good starting point, and you basically get more powerful every room. You guys just threw them away!
