That should be good, I was hoping to do something with rivers. I was thinking that if you had a ship at the mouth of a river, you can attack tiles inland of tat river, to represent Vikings being Vikings.

Wessex: +1 for every three burhs and or walled cities you own
Mercia: +1 for each enemy capital you own, or, if a vassal keeps their capital, +1 for every two vassal. Papal excommunications have no effect
Francia: One additional vote when voting for Pope
Northumbria: +1 so long as you have a continental ally, the Pope may grant you +2, this is not a blessing, and the Pope may still bless others, or you.
Welsh: Non Welsh get -2 when attacking you in Wales.
Irish: Non Irish get -2 when attacking you in Ireland
Scottish: Non Scottish get -2 when attacking you in Scotland
Scandinavians: 3 times per game you may give yourself +3 to all rolls for that turn. Ships move one additional tile per turn, and three ships are maintenance free
Saxons: Can rebel at anytime, at no cost, and revert back to Paganism. While Pagan, get +1 against all Christians. While Christian get +1 against Pagans.
Essex: Can rebel at anytime, at no cost, while independent of other rulers, get +1 to all rolls
Sussex: +1 as long as you have a continental ally, +1 Gold per turn
Kent: Can build one burh for free at the start of the game, you may bless other Anglo Saxon kingdoms, granting them +1 to all rolls
East Anglia: You may give two non Anglo Saxons +1 to all rolls while in England.
Bretons: Non Bretons get -1 when attacking you in Brittany, and -1 against Sea Regions adjacent to Brittany.
Frisia: Begin with two ships, two ships are maintenance free, while allied with an Anglo Saxon, you each receive +1 to all rolls

Holy Roman Emperor: Grants +3 to all rolls. You may also give up to two other players +1 to their rolls.
King of Denmark: +1 to all rolls, one additional free ship appears each turn
King of Norway: +1 to all rolls, one additional free ship appears each turn
King of Wales: +1 to all rolls, additional +1 against non Welsh factions
King of Ireland: +1 to all rolls, additional +1 against non Irish factions
King of England: +2 to all rolls
King of Scotland: +1 to all rolls, additional +1 against non Scottish factions

Faction abilities and titles. Requirements for titles not here yet.

Paganism: get 4 gold and +1 for 3 turns whenever you conquer a city with a church in it. Once per game you can give yourself +1 to all rolls for 3 turns
Christianity: Players elect the pope. They each get 1 vote, plus an additional 1 for each Church they own. The Pope may not vote when voting for a new Pope, Popes are elected every 4 rounds. The Pope may grant one player +2 to all of their rolls. The Pope may also excommunicate any other Christian, giving them -2 all their rolls.

Vikings, Denmark, and Norway: Denmark and Norway cannot be played at the beginning of the game. Instead, players playing Vikings begin with 3 ships. They may not attack Denmark or Norway. They can become the King of Denmark or Norway, by controlling at least one city, and having other Viking factions cede their claim to that throne. Danish or Norwegian territory then transfers to that player. Note that Vikings could potentially cede their claim to a non Viking, allowing that player to take control of Denmark.

Basically there are two classes of abilities
Your race, Germanics all get one ability
For them I'm thinking something like:

And then there is a secondary ability, which is your religion. So, main religions are Nicene Orthodoxy, Arianism, Zoroastrianism, Paganism.
Gut that controls Rome can declare Papal Supremacy, and split from the Nicene Orthodoxy. Potentially other sects also.

I think the trick to getting polfags to play it, is to make it so that there is no wall of text. Trick them into thinking it is very simple.
Here's what I can think of for sects
Arianism: +2 against all other Christian Sects, once per game +2 to all rolls for one turn
Nicene Orthodoxy: +1 to all rolls, a majority of Nicene Orthodoxy members may outcast another Nicene member, giving that player -2, and cancelling the base Orthodoxy bonus
See of Rome: Splits from Nicene Orthodoxy. Controller of Rome is head of this Church. When they leave, all Nicene Orthodoxy members that follow them get +2 to all rolls for 5 turns. After that, The Pope may give +2 to one follower at a time, and excommunicate his followers, giving them -2 to all rolls.

I play mostly in /pol/ and pretty much all you need to do is keep it as simplified as you can; remember /pol/ is a fast board, and people pretty much just want to kill each other and do diplomacy, which is fun. Also, making it easy for the OP to host the map without a trillion rules helps too (it's faster)

Anyway, I made a new map (pic related) which is supposed to be /pol/ friendly. I added these tiles in the sea too as in the previous map I did because I like the ability of being able to sail from wherever you want. What do you guys think? And how should I fix the bonuses?
