The other day I read about Ruby Quest in a thread in and ended up reading it, I really liked it and wanted to know what are some other finished quests that are worth reading.
I also read Problem Sleuth, couldn't care about homestuck and prequel is pretty good, but the lack of updates is terrible.

NanQuest is a spiritual sequel to RubyQuest by the same author. Same themes: horror, puzzler, but with more soecialization and a larger cast.

tg meta quest was pretty good, it dealt with a shitload of canons and was able to work them together fairly well - in large part by the OP having an incredibly deep knowledge base.
I've found that most successful quests that involve any pre-existing IP requires an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the subject matter. (regardless of what you think about planefag, the man knows WW2 Aerial Warfare like the back of his hand.)

Here's some from Anonkun:

Well, starting with Akun's older quests:
Evoker - http://anonkun.com/stories/the-evoker-u-fantasy-cyoa/f4780fce-e00d-44e4-a97f-9ebbeca466c9
Golden Empire - http://anonkun.com/stories/golden-empire-chapter-1-authority/c3ea820a-a8e6-4917-8067-f04d7eeca1ab This is chapter one, eight in total so far.
Depravity - http://anonkun.com/stories/depravity/ya9v6ZAGRYNnoT9ay Not "good" in regular sense, but very famous and generally fun quest about an immortal eldritch tentacle elder god fused with a loli on her way to conquering a space station and the the galaxy with the power of lewds. And enough magic energy to destroy moons.
I Hate How I Love You - http://anonkun.com/stories/i-hate-how-i-love-you/c1d3e2a0-c095-403d-ab02-2c0591672219
Paladin of Avalon – Bumpy writing in the beginning, gets better later. Is not really a quest, but in fact a translation of one.

Evolving - http://anonkun.com/stories/evolving-quest/ZYsrjWTYnJgZ8s42B

By far not the best I've seen, but it's bearable and the site has some neat features.

It mostly consists of people from /tg, so there isn't really a difference with what we have now.

Firstly, this si not true. Secondly, no one is making you read awful quests.

I very much recommend Dorf Quest.
I can't remember if Dorf Quest inspired Ruby Quest, or if Ruby Quest inspired Dorf Quest, but I consider both of them the epitome of Quest threads.

Has a quest ever been adapted to another medium?
>>
>>7289
Yes. It's not very fun to play irl, but it's been done. There's an entire game that is basically just questing in the format of a "normal" RPG, and that's Everyone Is John.
I think some completed quests have been cleaned up and edited into a coherent narrative story.

>Hollow Quest Redux
I wouldn't go so far to say that it was a good quest, more an addiction that you couldn't beat. It started off fantastic but got bogged down in so much OC drama and by the end Azure was quite clearly looking for a way to put the quest out of its misery.

But for all that, I still miss it.

Wolfu a best

As for recommendations, well spider quest was a fun draw quest. And I can't not mention tau quest, due to the drama surrounding it. I would also suggest taking a look at Lamia Daughter Quest and perhaps Sororitas Quest as well?
>>
>>6751
DiveQuest by Weaver is not finished but it's p cool.
>>7289
Homestuck started as a quest and is now something else entirely, I guess that kinda counts. Quests as a whole are pretty underground which is a shame.
>>

>is not finished
But is he still working on it? I really would'nt like to read anything on a eternal hiatus. Well no one likes that, I think.
>>
>>11351
Welp. There was an update like two weeks ago(?) after a long hiatus but overall it's pretty irregular. I am pretty sure an ending WILL happen tho because weaver is that kind of a guy.
I'd say it's in some kind of limbo now but I believe a full revival is not far.
>>
>>10589
Psion Quest was an absolute clusterfuck, are you kidding? It was basically Waifu Shitstorm: The Quest. Literally all of Exabyte's other quests were better.

>>6751

Here are a few of my recommendations. None of them are drawquests, but a number did have fanart of them. I'll start with finished quests first, then give some recommendations for ongoing quests (Though the current temperment regarding /tg/ and /qst/ might mean a few of them are on hold for the moment, or you may have trouble finding them.). All of these can be found on the suptg archives.

>Finished:

NearFuture Cyborg Quest - A quest by the previously mentioned Exabyte (Who has finished like seven quests thus far, 4-5 of which are definitely worth reading, but this is his best in my opinion). The clue is in the title, it's about a man who is turned into a cyborg and becomes a maverick who fights the syst- Actually, no, contrary to the expectations of the QM, the main character decides to work with the evil corporation, which leads to a lot of things that make this an interesting read. It's sequel is Space Cyborg Quest. Special mention to Sorceress Quest and Vale Quest, which have no relevance, but are other quests by this author worth reading.

Shadow Quest - A quest that is (seemingly) about a shadow elemental that enjoys eating things to get stronger and being a superhero. Slowly develops into something with a hell of a lot more depths, and while the finale might have fallen a little short, it still has some of the highest writing quality of any quest - As well it should, the QM is a published author.

Lamia Daughter Quest - A quest based on a small OC about a paladin who adopts a lamia after killing it's parents. Some odd narrative decisions, and can be downright depressing at times, but overall it's a fun romp through a fun setting with a lot of lighthearted fluff to balance the grimdark.

Oversized Weapon Quest - Based on an image and a filename. It's hard to describe, but it's basically a comedy quest with some serious elements. Extremely lighthearted, but has no dramatic tension because of this. Still a fun read.

Princess Guard Quest - Don't get me wrong, this isn't a good quest. Hell, it's pretty much an example of how not to run a quest, which is exactly why it's worth reading. You might get tired of the generic anime slice of life shenanigans at first, but you'll quickly realise why you're there, and once you get to the duel and the shit really starts flying, you can get quite a laugh just reading the comments from the audience while the QM tries to huddle down and just make it through the storm, losing a majority of his readers and then limping on to the finish line having finally, but too late, accepted some of the criticism levelled against him.
>>
>>11457
>Ongoing:
>(Do note that if you intend to start following any of these, it is polite to lurk for a few threads until you understand what is going on, and the general culture of the quest itself, so that you don't disrupt things out of ignorance)

Joker Quest - Probably my favourite quest of all time just now, based on a combination of factors. The setting is fantastically built and the QM pays a lot of attention to detail, and despite the quest having battle mechanics that are nigh inscrutable to outsiders, the combat is visceral and extremely satisfying to read. The characters are what really make it, though, and what makes me think that the QM should really take up writing professionally. The personalities on display here are varied and consistent, with flaws and virtues which clearly translate into their actions and words. You could tell most of them apart without being given any names based purely on how they are written when speaking.

Totemist Quest - Monster Hunter meets The Witcher meets Elder Scrolls. Another favourite of mine, this quest is an over-the-top fantasy affair that appeals to people who enjoy collecting things. There are no combat mechanics outside rule-of-cool, but the equipment system is very well built and benefits greatly from the creative excellence of the QM. A well-built world and interesting scenarios that are constantly thrown at the players rarely leave room for lapses in activity, and the action/combat sequences are well written, fast paced, and always carry a sense of epic fantasy to them.

Maverick Hunter Quest - A quest set in the Megaman X universe, and following (roughly) the canon of those games. Often lovingly referred to as PTSD Quest, it presents an interesting take on warfare and the duties of a soldier in a series that can be surprisingly dark at times as is. Contains a lot of military humour, which might go over a lot of heads, but is consistently high quality. The QM and his co-QM clearly put a hell of a lot of effort into this quest, and it shows. Every scenario is lovingly moulded and built as though they were actually levels in the games, complete with personable and unique bosses and characters. Contains a whole lot of art, both fanart and of the official variety, created by yet another co-QM.

That's because the fucker was posting zootopia porn in trash and I asked him why he hadn't updated divequest

don't expect anything regular from weaver, ever

Anyway finding good finished quests on tgchan's wiki is kinda hard, unless you like opening every single quest and checking every link with the "completed quest" tag and some are really awful.

I did find out that you can reverse engineer the changes to the "featured article" addition, though. SINCE APPARENTLY IT'S NOT A TAG.

So anyway here.

I personally started when I was skimming the archives and saw Vampire Bride Quest.

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Vampire%20Bride%20Quest

It was short, showcased the advantages of the quest genre, and sold me on the idea of investing in longer stories with main characters who are clearly insane because of the conflicting voices in their heads who do completely insane actions because 4chan is full of terrible ideas.
