Some mountains. What lies on the side...
A nestled vally with a river.
The ruined road that runs through the valley the only sign that this area was once settled by man.

The necromancers know that the lands used to belong to an Ancient and powerful empire. Who's technology and feats have yet to be trumped. :^)

So heres our valley

Its pretty comfy.

Should be settle? The land seems arable and there are animals that roam the woods and such. They could be hunted.

Small ruins of long past buildings lie in the long grasses and forrest of the valley. Perhaps one of the ruins is undisturbed?

Cave A. Is medium depth. Some more work could turn it into a fortress. The skeleton scouts report findings of metallic ore.

We descend into the cave. We pass the coffins and bodies which we will have to do something with when we occupy our dingy dark dungeon of awesome.

The Howls get louder as we get deeper.
And whats that.. Voices?

Now who in their right mind would live in a cave in an abandoned valley. The necromancers have heard of towns to the south though.

The voices stop and the howls turn to growls as they probably hear the sound of bone on stone and the spoopy noises an army of skeletons make.

We enter a large cavern. A perfect place to call home. A small stream caves its way through the middle of the chamber.

And around a fire we see 8 humans. or what we assume to be humans. The strange eyes and sunken faces betray them to be VAMPIRES.

We can see cages in the back of the cave. These vampires draw weapons and one turns into a bat. One starts running deeper into the caves shouting something about enemies. They clearly aren't friendly.

The battle that was thought to be an easy walk over proves to be a bitch.

We lose 31 skeletons and 3 necromancer mages.

Bones litter the floor and the blood of humans pool around the necromancers while the vampires lie in pieces.

The skeletons remember their days on campaign vague details of battles and bloodbaths that forged an empire.

Time for loot.
We find some decent swords and some armour.
The stuff is distributed to the current officers.

Alright we position the cages pointing towards the the next cavern entrance. We open the gates and watch as 20+ warns run out and into the darkness. One or two limping.
We start charging after them giving them time to attack the vampires so they dont engage us in their frenzied rage.

The vampires have tried to barricade the entrance to what seems to be a rough defensive camp. They were too late to completely barricade it.
Vampires lie dead mauled to death.
Blood everywhere. The sounds of combat alert us to the presence of 50 or so vampires fighting off the savage massive beasts. A couple of the hounds have fallen but there are still quite a bit.

The skeletons engage the vampires, A vampire lord casting spells left and right.

Give me 3 rolls for us and 2 for them.

Alright we have Food now
We can sustain our Necromancers and Humans.

The humans having been from villages and such work the fields and farm with the knowledge they had from home. They tell us of villages to the south of this valley.
Since we haven't treated them badly and actually freed them from vampires they will await word of their villages to either bring more people or leave.

We need more of a base. Right now the cave entrance is shit and barely defendable. The dwelling within is not befitting of a Lich such as Ottfried.

Even some of the skeletons complain of the lack of milk storage facilities.

We mine out a accessible opening to go deeper.
We find an underground lake and some sort of large creature dwelling in it. Bones litter the shoreline. A small ring and skeleton is found.

A rocky island lies in the centre of the lake. A small boat lies near the shore by the small skeleton.

Bone bastard moments from oblivion and rest gives one final push during this bought. He batters the Fish monster into the shallow water. Pulls a large sharp bone from his abdomen and stabs the creature with the fiery of one thousand calciums. The creature's body shudders and goes still, A large bone protruding from his head.
The bone golem Wades to the island to get the contents of the treasure horde.

Two skeletons start rebuilding a boat to haul the loose treasure to the mainland.

We find a large amount of Gold coin. trinkets for the lich lord and perhaps trade with humanity.
The best item by far is a special Staff. Gold with some sort of bone in the middle. Our Soldiers being bone men immediately recognise the high quality bone of a dragon.
This will add a bonus to rolls for the lich.

We also retrieve some weapons

We send scouts and move our forces to search the entire valley.

We find 2 Large caves, some resistance from a small amount of bears were crushed. The furs made fine carpets for the lich king. Multiple small caves were also discovered and small camps made in them.

We have decided not to expand and build a new town in the valley. It was the wise advice of one of the necromancer who cited the fact that people will find us when we are weak...

In the valley we find ruins of an ancient town. Bits of tools and some gold is found. We even uncover an old armoury. The skeletons recognise the armour, It is the imperial armour of the ancient Empire of Altrus.

We head south.

We move along the old ruined road and pass through a the entrance to our valley.
Before us lies lush grasslands with a few forrest here and there. But what draws our eyes is the smoke coming from a human village in the distance.
We can see humans going about their daily lives. Children play in the fields and elders sit in groups discussing certain topic related to their lives and said Village.

We also build a mining town in Cave A, The Necromancer who oversees the town called it Ferrus. The ore is iron and we find small deposits of silver deeper against the walls of the cave.

What to do with the village?
A. ATTACK GIB BONES.
B. Annex them into our empire. Have our humans negotiate with them.

Alright so we march on the Human village.

We surround it and big bones looks menacing as fuck.
