The epic quest for Alien Knowledge

But before going from here to there, you must need someplace to stay at the long-term and some info. It looks like you have some clean stones to use as money, the bigger the rock, the bigger the value lol.

You bought some decent house with all you need: Bed, bath, kitchen, etc, and a very friendly neighbor. This neighbor is your window between you and the world around you. You talk to her and she tells you how things work around here, since you're newcomer. You're getting familiar with markets, events and some, and after a long day, you fell asleep on your bed as if it were your first time you sleep, but still you have job to do.

The next day, you decided to buy some weapons if you have to fight those creatures, but you see, every shop around here is closed, but why? Not far from your position, you see big flying ships reesembling pirates, and looks like they're capturing humans to sell them or traffic their organs. It looks like this is a form of hatred that the mail was reffering to. You hide from their sight, but then you see a very unfamiliar thing: An ethereal-purple being that apparently is the boss from those bandits. It could be one of the "Gadians"? It looks like they're more important as you though.

After the pirates leave the place, the people started getting out of their homes and hideouts. You asked to your neightbor:

And she tells you that those are a "one-of-many" dangerous groups near these lands. Given that this territory is not under surveillance of the "Fate Court" -somekind of mighty force against these groups that have little territory under their control-, this territory is a "common" point for those bands. And the constant thinking that this day could be your last one, keeps people happy enjoying most of their time. After that, you go to buy some weapon on a shop, but it looks like there's no weapon shop around here, so you have to improvise.

After having no luck finding a decent weapon, you think that a weapon-like item can be found on random places aside from markets and such given this nonsense lore, so you walk towards a tiny forest near your position to have some luck. You walk to the "entrance" of the forest to see nothing more than mud and corroded woods, however, you hear an unfamiliar sound on the deep of the forest, it may sound stupid -and indeed, it is stupid-, but is likely to find something useful there, so you walk deep to the forest. Time has passed and it seems that you got lost, you can no longer hear the people out there and every tree looks the same to you, so yeah, you screwed.

You hear an uncomforting sound coming from the ground, and then you see it, human-like creatures with traits of warriors of acient era, and it seems that they're not zombies but intelligent creatures that want you to join them on the afterlife. And how so? Well, killing you, that's the point. Freaked out, you trows rocks at them, but despise their weak appareance, they can use the forest itself to regenerate their wounds, so you left with no other option rather to run. Clearly, this is not your day. You run for what it seems to be an hour, but these acient warriors are as fast as they were on live, so you screwed again. You fell to what it seems to be some tiny excavation site, and when you though it was your doom:

Someone near you have shooted one of the acient warriors, and while you we're lying on the ground, you see those warriors being shattered to pieces.

After a short section of heavy fire, the acient warrios began to retreat lying on the ground, becoming one with the land once again. You turn your face to see your savior, and it seems to be a steampunk-like character with tousled hair and a big magnifying glass on his right eye made of bronze, and before you say Thanks, he kicks you because you're ruining his tiny excavation. And after some fights and misunderstandings, he apologies for the kick and he introduces himself. He is a steam engineer who is looking for mineral resources to make several artifacts, although he keeps most of them for himself. He also tells you that this is no common forest, saying that long ago, one of the so-called "Gadians" have cursed several points of these lands including this forest, so every living being that have died here become a minion of the "Gadian". And is difficult to find the exit because there's no exit at all, at least not for common eyes. The magnifying glass he have on his right eye was shaped with special stones, popular from the East, that allows to see the uncommon among the common, and he uses it to find a path to the exit since the path changes every hour. When he finishes extracting the minerals, you follow him right to the exit.

After that, you ask him if he can give you some arsenal to stand against these creatures, but since he doesn't know you very well, he invites you to his "home": An underground mining place that has become his hideout. The entrance was horrendous, with a lot of dust and some strange bats, but after you pass the first door, you see a very clean room. Shimmering wood and top-notch steam machinery, so clean and detailed that you can see your reflection on it. The steam guy closes the door and lock it up. He explain to you this:

>Every creation you see here on my dwelling was crafted carefully with patience, love and most importantly: Resources. So, why do you think i would waste that on you?

Then, you notice a a transparent thread on his hand that connects to a hidden cannon ont he desk in front of you, he thinks that you're some of those bandits you saw ealier. So if he knows that you're lying or try to steal some of his stuff, you will be dead for sure. And so, having nothing to lose, you explain to him the reason you're on this world; defeat the Gadians and such. And after that short explanation, an awkward silence impregnates the room for what it seems to be a minute. And then, the steam guy started to laugh uproariously, his laugh was so contagious that you wanted to laugh too. Now he doesn't sees you as a threat anymore, but as a suicidal maniac that doesn't know any better way to die, so he is not going to waste anything on you. You also show him the mail of your inbox, but it seems that NPC cannot see GUI's. He opens the door and ask you to leave and never say something of this place.

You though it could be a good idea to buy his stuff, so you show the rocks you have as money, however, for the steam guy that rocks we're no ordinary money. It seems that inside of those rocks, there's a mixture of different minerals, specially carbonate minerals, so he gently asked you to give him those rocks, but you insist on having a weapon. Then he closes de door and ask you to wait until he find a weapon suited to you. Almost instantly, the steam guy cames with a big briefcase with some ornamentals on it. He opens it and you see a Double-barrered shotgun-like weapon, a weapon capable enough to break a shield made of steel -according to him-, but he tells you that has a few bullets given the difficult to make speficic bullets for this weapon. Is already loaded and has some 13 bullets on the briefcase, being 15 shot in total. Since there's nothing better, you gave them the rocks:

>A heavy weapon made of Bronze. You can almost fell the power by just touching it!

But before you leave, the steam guy asked you a tiny favor: If you manage to give them some ore and minerals, he will make some artifacts for you, if you manage to live that long with those suicidal thoughs. You say goodbye and you go to your house with the weapon at your hands.

When reaching your house, your friendly neighbor got curious by noticing the big briefcase you have in your hands. However, she doesn't insist to asking what is inside of it, she thinks that everyone has his 'secrets'. Once inside, you open the briefcase and grab the shotgun, it seems to be more difficult to handle than previously though, but you know that this is your main advantage against this evil. If this shotgun is way powerfull as planned, getting rid of those monsters wouldn't be that difficult, however, with limited amount of shells at your possesion -and possibly the only bullets for this weapon in the world-, it will not be an easy task to fight an horde of these creatures, and more if you're planning to attack a whole group of pirates. If that ethereal-purple being results to be one of the Gadians, is the best chance you got to archieve some progress.

Your plan is simple: infiltrate to the main ship where the purple Gadian is, kill him and since the rest of the bandits are the Gadian's minions, they will be done for good. But, how to get near those ships? Where they are going to appear? When? It seems that your plan is filled with obvious gaps that you didn't think about. Waiting here for them will consume a lot of time, and going for them will consume way more time if you don't know where are they. After some time thinking, you hear a beep inside your head, you open the OS and you found a new mail on your inbox:

You go to the Map section and you see a worldwide map. The world seems to be somewhat more tiny than Earth itself, but you don't focus on that. Instead, you focus to find those ships you saw ealier, and given that the map has real-time updates, you can literally see what is happening on the other side of the world. You have founded the ships! They're somewhat near to your town at a coast, and seems that they will not move for sometime, so you take a big breath,take the briefcase with you, you leave your house and say goodbye to your friendly neighbor, and you go to hunt some heads. The travel took a while, like 2 hours or less, is already dark, but you reached the place with ease. You see a big familiar ship at the cove of the beach and some 'heavy' guards 'watching' for intruders -they were asleep-. it looks like they're taking resources for a long-term journey, and they're on a hurry, so you managed to enter inside some cargo that was near you, and without being noticed, the cargo you were in was taken to the ship. And so, when the pirates where done, the ship finally start the engines and fly to the starry sky. You can feel the heavy movement of the ship that almost make you puke. You open the box and leave the cargo you were in.

Finally, you are inside! You have 15 shot at your hand, so make it count!

Once inside the ship, you equip the steam-shotgun and take the 13 bullets with you as you go to search for the purple Gadian, and for your luck, the Map function of your OS have 3D planes of the ship, so you know where to go and how to go. However, being sneaky is not one of your best qualities, since as soon as you get out of the cargo room, 2 bandits caught your presence and so you left with no other choice to shoot at them.

Just one shot for each one was enough to make them dust, but you have to keep the account of the remaining bullets you have, so you can have some to fight against that Gadian. For your luck, most of bandits of the ship noticed the fire and they're preparing for battle, so you're in a hurry to find the Gadian as fast as you can. You run straight to the left and you encounter 3 big bandits well armored. 13... 12... 11... You have made a clear path. On the map, appears that you have to go up to reach the main chamber, so you turn to the right to go upstairs. On each corner, you see 1 or 2 bandit willing to kill you. 10... 9... 8... You managed to reach to the door of the main chamber where the Gadia lies, a circular-like door with almost the twice of your size, is made of the same steel like the armor that the bandits you shooted, so you though to make a gap with the Shotgun. 7... 6... Is impossible to make a gap with the shotgun alone, and the bandits are hiting your tail. Then you notice some barrels on your left side, and without knowing if these barrels are explosive or not, you move them towards the door and shoot them. 6... Now there's a clear gap that you can use to reach the other side, you went to the gap and go upstairs, and once you entered to the main chamber, a door falls behind you, locking you on the room.

The room seems to be empty, but then appears the ethereal-purple Gadia from a bottle. Now seeing more closely, has twice of your size and has traits from both man and woman. You fell a strong power coming from him, he looks you closely and says:

>Hmmm? A child of dirt-being getting this far? My minions are useless for sure.

And without thinking, you shoot at him. 5... But somehow, you didn't damage it! Is like your bullets just passed through him.

>You clearly see what's happening, but you clearly don't understand it.

You were hoping to find some weak point and you shoot at him at multiple locations. 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... But it was worthless. And then he manages to lift you off the ground.

>Watch closely. Do you think that mere bronze tools can stand against beings like me?

And then you see a tiny rock on his chest, it maybe his core! If you manage to shoot at it close enough, you can sure destroy it.

You use your right arm and point straight to the core, even if the recoil of the shotgun could dislocate your arm, you shoot at it. 1!

But before delivering the final blow, nothing happend, it seems that you counted wrong the remaining bullets you have.

Soon, he opens the ceiling and you see the bright of the fullmoon, the ship is clearly above the clouds. He raises you to the outside of the chamber's ceiling.

Then he stretch your right arm, dislocating it and you throws the Steam-shotgun due to pain, and he pierces your left lung. And so he throws you outside the ship high above the clouds and you started to lose awareness given the fall. Since is your first time falling from high altitudes without proper equipment, the OS automatically activates a deceleration process that saves you from becoming ground beef. You fall to the ocean and regain awareness, but your injuries are letal and the ocean is not very friendly right now, since you have nothing to do about it, you just leave the ocean tides to guide you, and you lost awareness again. You regain awareness on a beach and you slowly drag to near houses around there. You go to a familiar house and you touch the door before falling apart. It looks like that despise this is a virtual reality, you can fell pain and hunger as if it were real on this world.

You woke up lying on a bed, is morning, and someone has treated you wounds and you're recovering! But who? It looks like that it was your friendly neighbor. She bought some water, sits to your side and she start to talk to you. She explains that she know what you where doing since she saw you watching the bandits, you went to that forest and came back with that briefcase: You were going to hunt them, the so-called "Gadians". Many have tried that, and many have fallen for that purpose. She though that you were already dead since you went to find them by your own, and it was a surprise to find you alive. She also explain to you that the ethereal-purple being that almost kill you was not a Gadian, although it has similar traits of the Gadians, it lack the proper power to be considered as one -like an infant in comparison to an adult-. If you encounter a Gadian, it's likely that you will die in a second. You have fought kinda well i guess, but you have to rest, and since you are unable to do something, you just have to do what she says.

Yesterday was a very long day that's for sure, but if you can't defeat such beings, how can you defeat a Gadian? Or even get close to one?

Only time will tell...
