but not too late

You decide to read your book for a little while. After about an hour you get are able to use your magic to summon and control lightning--Well, more like little balls and sparks of electricity no bigger than your outstretched hands. Still you think that much is fairly well for someone trying to learn magic while tired without any training from professionals.

All of a sudden you hear something outside. You look and see that a woman is getting robbed. You decide this is your perfect chance to use your new ability.

After attacking the robber, who falls over limply, you look at him and nervously checks his pulse. You feel nothing and realize that you have probably killed him! The woman that was being robbed is long gone, so she didn't see you kill him. You look up to see the sun is rising over in the east, so you get up and start heading to the wizard academy, trying to keep your hands from shaking during the walk there.

Act normal! We didn't mean to kill him. Maybe he died of fright? Yeah, he had a weak heart, got scared and died! Not our fault! (Begin the path of an amoral wizard!)

You get to the wizard school, trying to act normal. You are sent over to the Division Gamma building. There, all the new students are gathered around in front a woman on the stage, who goes over the main rules of Division Gamma.
"Division Gamma is the Division that represents energy and power. That does not mean your power can be used for killing." When she pauses, you try to wipe the sweat off your brow without anyone noticing. "In this Division," she continued, "the main elements you will be using are lightning or fire. Those classes are simply called your Mains. You choose one of these classes, while you can learn the other element as an extracurricular activity. You may also learn to use air spells and Earth spells; those are called Secondaries. Choose one main and one Secondary, then you will get a slip telling you your assigned dormitory room. All housing, food, and other privileges are complimentary of the Wizard Academy, but if you fail your classes, you are being stripped of your privileges, a spell will be cast upon you wherein you forget everything you learned here, and you will have no knowledge of this place. Any Questions?"
