Not a big fan of the "Royal Marriages" risk.

200 is my favorite map. the downside is we only had 5 rollers consistently and if new players come they will be very disadvantaged. on the other hand GoB and the map last night are built for late comers because they are both real time play with siege aspect. so a player could join with only one stronghold and explode in the first turn to relevance. 270 looks fun but i have hosted it (looks simple enough though)

i have been thinking about it man and both the religion and tech ideas need to start with a blank map (not the template you have) because that map is already balanced for what it is supposed to be (even thought Gibraltar was a fail and the whole +3 grouping amsterdam/paris/london thing is stupid) you need to start from scratch and build the map out based on your ideas and then fins balance.

I'm going to start work on costs.
Here's the idea. Buildings, unless they say so, can be built in any city you own. The techs can be researched at a slower rate based upon how far down the tree they are.
This would go on a map similar to the 200bc map. The only way to get bonuses is to either build it, or conquer it.
Gold is used to buy buildings, and you have to pay upkeep on non gold buildings.
What do you guys think?
