WELCOME TO THE 2016 ELECTIONS
The powers of a mighty alien race have manipualted the minds of Americans to entirely forget their unfavorable candidates, a Harpy and a Pumpkin, in favor for two crafted candidates, designed solely to create an entertainment game show for the alien species of humanoids.
And you have all been selected to play!
Yes, you! Ladies and Gentlemen, here are the rules.
> You are a contestant on the " Democracy is a Lie " gameshow on Liberty Station.
> Your job is simple - create a political event that triggers a certain state to join your selected candidate
> In your 'post' - Include the name of the state you want to go to your candidate, and write out the event that triggered it.
> If you get double numbers on your 'turn number' (read: post number) The event triggers and your candidate wins the state
> California is and can pnly be won by the post with "69" and New York is won by the post ending in "96"
> IF YOUR POST ENDS IN "00" the independent gets your event
> The first to reach the target number wins
> Tripcodes highly encoraged to track who's supporting which canidate but isn't needed

Republican : BORIS BRANSON - A true soldier who promises to eradicate both terrorism and fear itself - literally. He will be so brave that children themselves are emboldened to take on the dangerous foreign invaders from the desert! He makes a lot of money and he'll make you money too!
DEMOCRAT : DELILAH STRONG - A true beacon of democracy and grandmotherly destruction herself. Delilah will use her steely gaze to oblierate oppression and melt the skin off of anyone who dares touch her darling America. A smile made of sugar and teeth made of steel, she'll do her duty.
> Map will be updated as fast as I can, thankfully /qst/ is slow so I don't think I'll have much to worry about.
> No limits on reposting, faster the better. You win by shitposting more than your opponent.
> To detractors - this is a collective story driven by an author's narrative with player input. Any attempts to discredit it will be met with honest disbelief that you give a damn.

Can a post outright support the independent candidate and win a state for them instead?
Independent candidate Mary Zeb takes Texas; born and raised there, she knows the local politics quite well. Before running for president, she held one of the few independent seats in the House. She successfully rallies Republican voters alienated by Branson, and her own independent base, and enough Democrats defect to push her over the edge.

Mary wins Washington. Emboldened by the Texas victory, and newly awash in funds after proving unprecedented viability, Mary takes her campaign to the west coast. Starting in the north, she campaigns in Washington to those right-leaning and independent voices that feel drowned out by the historically blue state. Voter turnout hits a historic high, particularly among young and first-time voters.

Sensing a timely opportunity, Mary quickly heads down to California, while both of the major-party candidates are occupied on the opposite coast. Her tech-savvy campaign wins her a surprise victory in the high-tech state.

While waiting to give a speech at an Oregon university, Mary decides to try "Pokemon Go" on her phone, to find out what everyone's talking about (and what she sees several students and professors playing). A student snaps and posts a timely picture of her catching a Magikarp, and quotes her subsequent joke asking where she can find some good wasabi.
The subsequent news cycle makes an offhand mention of her speech, as a side item to the reports of all the Twitter responses. In other news, evening newscasters remain uninteresting, especially when staring at overlay graphics showing screenshots of tweets.

Rerolling for this. The newscasters, slow on the uptake, don't notice until the following morning's news.
