The flesh squelches and crunches as your teeth grind everything as quickly as they can into a red mush. What muscles that are still left actually functioning in your body struggle with the work that they hadn't done in an age.

The warmth from your feast fills you with a familiar yearning for more. Your hands desperately tear of more hunks as the body even now cools, the blood steaming on the snow and the frozen earth. Your damned mouth can't eat fast enough. A flash of though in whatever it is that you use for thinking these days causes you to shove your hands and spread the tear in the cadaver to make enough space so you could shove your face in.

You try to get as much of the blood down your throat as you can. The hunger unsatisfied with how little this meal actually is worth. You think you remember how that wasn't the case when you were 'younger', how even simple carrion was enough. At the very least you can think again, you can plan. Not like the others.

No, the others wouldn't know not to react when they hear sounds of another critter lurking nearby, they wouldn't realize that they could lure it in by pretending they didn't notice anything. You discreetly look up in the direction of the sounds after seemingly pushing yourself out of the tear to once again stuff your throat with chunks of flesh.

And what a sight to see! An actual live human! You haven't seen one in... a long time! The boy seems taken aback at what he's seeing, the sound seems to be from an (un)fortunately placed branch that the youth back pedaled into. Oh you can definitely see his fear.

And now that you've noticed him, you actually notice the arrow sticking out of the deer. The hunger taking forcing you to focus everything on devouring the flesh in front of you once again. But that's not important right now.

What you need to do right now is decide what to do with this new discovery.

Firstly, you can simply continue ignoring him and wait until a more opportune moment. You could scare him off, humans always do like to travel in at least pairs. Though you might be in trouble if there are enough well armed humans with him. And lastly you can just get up and rush right now. Though that will leave you in the hands of your hunger should you fail to catch him.
