If you are against having "shit races" in your thread, you'd better give us a goddamn list or at least some pointers on what you consider to be a "shit race".
Are fish people from Innsmouth shit? What about talking lemurs from Narnia?
It's like going to a hardware store and going like "yo gimme a tool to fix my stuff, but it has to fix it" without giving any specifics.

So, I'm thinking emu birdpeople in forested hills by an estuary, with the other races suggested maybe popping up as NPC civilisations?

Humans.. psychic perk... began to manifest in ancient times. More prominent in females. Placed in the New World equivalent and invaded by advanced races.

Your tribe traditionally lived, worked, slept and played in a small broadleaf forest, through which ran a stream around which your village was based - a collection of tall, wooden houses roofed with wicker covered with leaves. There your people ate the fruits of the forest and any of the sizable lizards which they could catch and kill, and swallowed clean, cold, smooth-polished round pebbles from the banks of the stream. Alas, over the past five summers, there had been a withering of that forest's vegetation - a sickness had been killing the trees, rotting their leaves and wood. The fruit trees and bushes had also produced less bounty and your tribe had grown hungry. At first, it was hoped that the forest would recover from the scourge afflicting it, but it showed know signs of doing so, and some amongst you opined that it was a natural process - that one forest was being consumed by the land to produce another one elsewhere. Regardless of philosophy, the situation had grown dangerous, though not dire, and you - the chief of your tribe - had made a decision to move the entire tribe west, out of the forest, to seek new, bountiful lands. The journey filled all of you with excitement and anxiety, but, luckily, no dangers befell you as you migrated, with your possessions and supplies, west across a large heather moorland. Eventually, you reached an area of hills, forested by towering trees with dark green, conical canopies. You and your tribe journeyed on through the forest, following the course of an energetic, gradually widening river through a green valley full of clover and wildflowers which stretched between the forested hills, until you reached a great estuary where the now slow-flowing river entered the ocean. You decided to settle on the western side of a hill, facing the estuary but out of the strong wind which blew south from out to sea.

-

Your tribe numbers 50 emu-people, and you all have arms and well-developed speech apparatus but are otherwise emu-like.

The new village must be strong, to repel any attackers! You cut down some small trees growing on the lower hillside and use their wood to construct some houses halfway up the hill, and you surround them with a wooden pallisade, twelve foot tall. The ground here is, obviously, all sloping; but this does impede your construction. The slope should impede any attackers who approach from the riverbank.

Time to investigate the local area to establish a reliable food supply! Exploring the hillside and the banks of the river, you find several types of fruit growing on trees or on bushes: pears, crabapples, strawberries, gooseberries, redcurrants and blackcurrants. Your tribe pick a load of fruit off the trees and bushes every few days, then store them in wicker baskets in the village, which they brought with them on their journey. There are also some leeks and celery.

Using stone axes and knives, you cut down more of the small hillside trees and produce some long, sharpened wooden sticks, and some small, round shields. You also try to create some clubs, but you find that the wood is not sufficiently strong. You wonder whether you coud use the thorns of some of the hillside bushes to make weaponry or fortifications.
