With farming and such you get a good amount of constant food for your soldiers. unfortunately assault rifles are in low supply and only half your useable soldiers (being 14 out of your 21 total population) have assault rifles. the rest are armed with pistols. Ammo is thankfully plentiful and won't be running out soon. Everybody is also armed with a machete. The rifles have wood furniture and are made from stamped metal. Pistols feel like big solid chunks of metal that hold together great but carry few rounds.
