You awaken in your bunk. The alarm clock buzzes, and upon a closer look, it is 4:30 AM.

Stepping out into the early morning, you take a deep breath, the smell of gasoline and gunpowder fill your nostrils. Sparking up a cigarette, you look down at your pager, reading "ROOM BRAVO 0500". Walking through the dimly lit walls of the FOB, you pass the Howitzers, and the motor pool. All familiar sights.

Checking your watch, it is now 4:45 AM. You call out to the marine sitting in his watch post, slowly taking your steps up into the post, each step creaking the plywood under you. Offering him a cigarette, he gladly takes it. "PFC Abbot, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines." He mutters through his dirt-filled shemagh. Just then, you hear an explosion in the distance, racing for his thermal-imaging device, it's a false-call. Air-force dropped a 500 pounder on what they believed to be an insurgent position, the private says.

Giving the private one final nod, you leave the watch-post, enjoying a cup of slop-style coffee. Standing in the command post, you look at the door. "Briefing Room Bravo," the door says; you've seen it a million times before, briefed on plenty of operations and day-to-day tasks in your fire-team. A soldier standing at the door requests your name..

Voting for LCpl. Ron McMasters
Age 22
Male
He's a good team player, has fast reflexes and has a mean grenade arm, if you can point at it he will ask which eye.
He is average height, lighter build, rough face from all the dry shaves. Oh, and he's black.

Nah no pictures is fine matie.

"Ah. Lance Corporal Jones. Good to see you sir." He stands at attention, opening the door for the corporal. Upon entering the room, the smell of cigarette smoke gives you a huge head-rush, as you look at Sergeant Major Sixta, a small, but incredibly loud man, who will not take no for an answer in this war. Sitting in the second row, next to LCpl Laster, you spark up a second cig to enjoy with your coffee this morning..

Silently talking, the briefing finally starts after around 20 minutes of waiting for NCO's and Senior NCO's to arrive in the brief. As the lights dim, your cigarette seems to be the last light as you smolder it. Briefed on today's operation, the Sergeant Major goes through a slide-show.

A slide pops onto the screen, a picture of a relatively good-sized town, with drawings of entrance routes, and information listing fireteam info.

"Legion 1-4 Bravo.." You search the list. Your team is on the streets today. Kicking doors and searching for an IED Factory.

Eventually, the Sergeant Major arrives to you, with one question.

"Corporal Jones, today you will need to escort three trained explosives experts. Do you think you can commit to this objective? If not, 1-4 Alpha can take the job." He says, sternly staring at the corporal.

*Will be slow for now, wait until combat for real choices & shieeet*

We're getting chewed out and it's only 0500
That being said, also agreeing with this.

Nodding to the Corporal, he moves on with the briefing.

A slide comes on the screen, specially designated for Legion 1-4B. "Corporal Jones, you will be entering the town through the eastern MSR, heavy insurgent forces have been spotted in the area. You will be equipped with a corpsman in your squad, as well as an SARC Medic in your fireteam. A marine sniper will be covering every movement your soldiers make. On the western side of town, where the resistance is the heaviest, we have the confirmed location of three IED factories; you will mount up in your HMMW at 0600. By 0630, your team will arrive in the COP on the eastern side of town. From there, you will move through the crowded streets, kicking doors and searching homes for IED equipment/weapons caches." Looking at your watch, it is 5:25. "Now, when you arrive expect to come under fire."

The briefing goes on for another 20 minutes, before the room is called to attention. Dismissed, you return to the barracks, all of your fire-team still sound asleep in their bunks.

Screaming for them to wake up, you are mounted in your HMMW by 0600, fully geared and ready to go. Arriving as expected at the COP, you radio that your unit has arrived safely.

Immediately, you are approached by a Sergeant. "Corporal." He nods. "We've got eyes on enemy insurgents moving on the northern side of town. There isn't shit for cover there, but they won't be looking. On the southern-side, it is heavily crowded with streets, as well as civilians; expect more resistance on the southern-side, but less loss if you are detected."

>A) Go north, and possibly lose all of your fireteam under MG and sniper fire
>B) Go south, and use the cover of the streets, but your enemies may use it as well.
Choose wisely, corporal.

Better safe than sorry, right?
fuck I jinxed it
>>
>>331075
We go south, north is just asking to be killed by a road bomb.

We go through the streets, and say a prayer for the decent people who are going to get in the way.

Just as you inform the Sergeant of your decision, a round wizzes past your head. "Don't worry about that, stray fire." Walking back to his fortified position, he gets a private to guide your HMMW's into the motor pool.

Quickly briefing your fire-team, you tell them to go silent, and to check fire. Civilians will be present. Doing a final minute check, and getting things straight with your creator, you break into teams of two. Doing bounding movement through the tightly packed streets, you look on your GPS quickly, readjusting your teams course.

"Fallujah."

Moving forward, you spend about 20 minutes. Just as you turn a corner, life seems to stop. You spot men, and AK-47's. Your head wizzes, trying to put together what you just saw, and pray that they didn't see you as you slam back into cover, telling everyone to remain silent..

Thinking, you decide you can either engage, or keep moving. They seem to be harassing locals, beating a father and a mother.

>A) Move onward. Continue the mission, as you have orders, and this could jeopardize the operation.
>B)Engage the soldiers. After-all, it's only 3. What could go wrong?
>C)Designate them for the sniper, but this wastes precious time. The sun will rise soon, and you want to be long-gone by then.

Choose very wisely.

I'd help the people, but now's not the time.
>>
>>331111
No, odds are someone's already fingered us out, and we don't need to improve those odds any more.

Put it aside for now and regret it later while drinking heavily. For now, move on with the mission.

Gathering your men together, you push across the street unnoticed by the family, too busy beating the father.. The muffled screams of the mother will haunt you for life, you just know it. Each push, you can hear her grunt. Crawling through the dirt, you regain formation on the other side of the street, pushing forward again. After another 10 minutes, you check your watch. It is 0700, and the sun is just barely lighting up the sky.. Pushing onward, you hear voices in a house. Posting your men on the wall, you have a light discussion in whispers..

They sound like men, at least 19. You remember Sergeant Major telling you, "The city has been evacuated. Every military aged man present, is there to kill you."

You have to snap-decide whether to position to engage, or to move onward, hearing their bootsteps towards the door. They seem to be lifting something, but you could never know what. If they are not soldiers, they might be informants for Al-qaeda. Law dictates you cannot engage unarmed civilians, and in this operation you may not detain civilians.

>A) Set up in firing position on the door, and pray that you made the right choice, engage the targets & clear the building
>B) Move onward, hoping they are just civilians.
>>
>>331161
>B
It's a 50/50 chance that they're unarmed.
>>
>>331161
19 men? Or some men that sound like they're 19 years old?
>>
>>331169
Pushing onward, just as you halt behind a wall in a broken building, looking backward on the street near the house you thought of storming; two men emerge. Wearing assault-style vests, and combat boots, AK-47's slung over their backs, they exchange conversation and smoke a cigarette. Just then, your newly shipped in PFC's boot slips, knocking some rocks down. Instantly into combat mode, the two men slowly begin to close in on your unit, rifles-ready..

Thinking, you know there's a second floor to this building.. Hopefully no soldiers up there. The street doesn't provide much cover, you can avoid waking anyone up though.

>A) Move upstairs, and use the covered window position to engage the targets. However, you hear the slightest movement upstairs. Not loud enough to be soldiers, but you are not sure..
>B) Duck into the street, but possibly get hit, effectively avoiding anything upstairs.

>>331179
They have deep voices, at least 19. (BTW, for you I'mma roll this chance, that way your stories won't conflict)
>>
>>331203
>A
I hope they aren't soldiers.
>>
>>331203
Upstairs quickly but quietly, this building just flagged itself for a fucking slaughter.
>>
>>331232
Pushing upstairs, as you open the door, you almost discharge your gun.. A child is hiding among the rubble, and just as he breathes to scream for help, your world seems to freeze.. PFC Rimonaski rushes past you, tackling the child, holding his mouth shut before he screams.. The child is missing an arm, and a leg.. Dazed out, you hold the wall for a second, breathing heavily, looking out the window as the soldiers get closer.. Firing, both soldiers drop instantaneously, falling into some light brush..

>A) Retrieve the soldiers' bodies, and hide them, however this could waste precious, precious time; but avoids detection.
>B) Move onward, and pray that no-one discovers the body.
>>
Be right back, smoke break.

>>331255
