We use the infrastructure present in the coastal regions of the province of Mauretania to build upon and enable greater migration of Settlers from Essukur into the old Empire.

Though building ports is expensive and time consuming, to bridge the time gap between now and the completion of the port constructions, the Sarsarrum has ordered the conquest of the mediterranean islands of Malta and Sicily.

We use their ports as points of arrival for the migrants and encourage families to have many children, to out-populate the non-red natives of the old Empire.

Most of our subjects that aren't Jews, Christians or Muslims have retained our ancient culture.
As such, they welcome us eagerly and try to become Red as well, by breeding with our people.
The divinity of the Red race cannot be denied in their eyes, and their eagerness to interbreed with us, causes a baby boom in the Empire, both old and new halves.

Meanwhile in the Palace of Thumim, the Sarsarrum has been introduced to a material called Paper, which is much easier to produce and write on than Papyrus or Parchment.
Our Sarsarrum, a crafty and curious man, has had a brilliant idea after his pilgrimage to the Tutankaion.

Why not make letters of iron, to be covered in ink and pressed onto this Paper material?
The instant he uttered that thought to his blacksmiths , they got to work on making a small iron version of each and every letter in our alphabet, the Sarsarrum then proceeds with his plan and lo and behold, the letters were printed onto the paper.

This discovery of the Sarsarrum did not go unnoticed, considering the head of all Humanity has created something this amazing by himself.

What will happen next?

OP you still there?

In case you are, here is my turn;

I would suggest organising pilgrimages of scholars to this great city to learn from these tablets and deploying their knowledge wherever possible.
>>
>>298553
>>298881
Sending scholars to the city sounds like it has a lot of potential.

How strong is the remaining Muslim world right now? Can we go conquer the rest of the Arabian peninsula?

Also, might be nice to swoop in and take Kilwa before the Portuguese try it since it is so weak right now. (Also maybe we can meet the Portuguese this way.
>>
>>298553
Here's an idea.

Why don't we get started on that oh-so lucrative sugar, coffee and cotton trading? Europe needs it's sugar, even if Spain isn't providing it. Move over, en masse, eastern crops that hold value in Europe to farm in the west(Coffee, Sugar, etc), and western crops (Potatoes, Tomatoes, Corn, etc.) in the east.
>>
>>299353
Because the Europeans are dead, it's only been 40 years since the Anthrax pandemic, do you think the world population has recovered in any capacity yet?
90% of the old world died off Anthrax.
just like 90% of the new world (outside of the Empire - for us it was 25%) died off the Plague.

The world in general is a pretty empty place, we're back to square one here, at this point trading with anyone is a loss.
>>
>>299478
Are we stable now? if so invade Spain, Italy and Greece.
>>
>>300096
We are far from stable, we are struggling under the administrative load of our empire and the communications delay from our capital and most of the empire.

Our only hope is to develop faster ships, better roads and carts for them.
>>
>>300378
>Our only hope is to develop faster ships, better roads and carts for them.
This is a great idea. Lets focus on this.
>>
I think we want faster ships and transport

Lets get also start researching science and steam power
>>
>>300939
Idk if we owned Egypt at the time Hero of Alexandria was alive, like during 1st century BC, but if we did then we might have something about his steam powered device in our library city. Could help.
>>
>>300987
We nearing the industrial age if I'm right. Anything helps

Why hasn't this gigantic Empire fallen apart yet?

Idiotic
>>
>>300378
Let's do this.
>>
>>301112
because we just created it 40 years ago, every potential opposition is dead due to our plague, millions of people from back home, who are subservient and loyal to the Emperor, migrate into the middle-east and the previous Emperor spent all his life getting a complex administrative system going, to make this Empire even remotely manageable.
>>
>>301115
not to mention the fact our army is huge, very advanced and we united most of the north Americas in the hatred of everyone east.

I say most because we don't have the Canadians support, yet.
>>
>>301407
We do, there's just nothing living north of us, it's empty tundra and taiga.
>>
>>301453
oh, I was incorrect, I do apologise.
>>
>>301534
With all the mixing of new and old, we should be able to discover new technologies faster. Once we get the telegram, trains, and steel, we should be pretty set
>>
>>304044
we have had steel since before the romans were anything more than a few Italians pissing about in Naples.
>>
>>304089
We also have the means to make Damascus steel at every step along the means of production. We should make a shit ton, and say it is blessed, and give it religious significance. And use it to outfit all our troops with new blades.

This stuff is legendary.
>>
>>304132
True but I feel we should just focus on making steel cheap as we can and also getting as much coal mining as we can.

Maybe we should have the royals put out "grants" for inventors of automation stuff, pointing out that it frees up more time for the people to pray to the gods. That machines never tire, rarely falter and are "holy" for saving man from endlessly toiling in a way that even a donkey could.
>>
>>304148
>>304132
Nice

Right now I support this:

I'm sorry for not updating lads, I just have a shitload to do.
Update coming right up.

The discovery of the Sarsarrum has quickly been improved upon by his subjects, the resulting invention of the "Printing Press" has made the ancient knowledge contained in the Tutankaion easily available to all people in the Empire.

Due to this, scholars have made a massive out-cry to reintroduce compulsory education for the general population.

The Sarsarrum gives in to their demands and reintroduces the system the way it is recorded in ancient texts.

With this, future generations will benefit from our knowledge and in the near future, countless peasants will be able to read and write like they could in ancient times.

Merely 10 years after this event, a new generation of eager young peasants has graduated from Imperial Schools all over the Empire. They are the first to do so in centuries.
These peasants are trying their best to improve the lives of everyone in the Empire, in light of the great extinction that struck the old world upon our arrival.

We don't know yet what will become of these innovation happy peasants, but we can expect them to do something in the future.

What are we going to do in the meantime?
>>
>>307514
I feel we should focus on improving our infrastructure, paying inventors of improvements to boats and such with a lump sum of wealth.

The emperor should also begin gathering the best of the best in every field he can, creating a royal "council" of engineers (both civilian and of war), doctors, generals and such. (Perhaps he should even attempt to learn from them?)

I believe that then emperor should travel the empire, learning of the problems people are suffering in each region. He will the set these as "goals" or projects for the group of inventors / bright sparks he has gathered but it will also be open to anyone from the public who can solve them.

The emperor may also suggest goals himself for them to attempt so that he might guide the growth of our empire.

I was thinking we could work on some kind of light based communications. Maybe a series of people on hilltops with shielded lanterns. At night they could use a morse code type deal by shielding and unshielding the lantern. It could be 1 shift of the shielding vs a double shift in quick succession, to differentiate.

If it was extensive enough, and we did something crazy like anchoring ships at intervals and having the guy with the lantern in the crows nests, it would take something like 500 ships. But we could get a message from India to California in one night probably.

Just an idea really.
>>
>>308383
That sounds like a great idea, under perfect weather and other such conditions.

However i'd point out that if we secure most of the islands between the Americas and indo-china then we could do the same thing without boats.
>>
>>308499
We still think there's a mountain range there and probably won't explore it until other people tell us there's an ocean there.
>>
>>308533
We know there is an ocean to the left of america, we know there is an ocean to the right of china / India. It makes sense we might be slightly curious as to what is out there even if we do think there is a mountain range, are you telling me no one wants to mine it?
>>
>>308619
I'm all for colonizing the pacific, I just don't want to 'break character' so to speak. QM said it was like a religious thing, part of their worldview.
>>
>>307690
Supporting this
>>308383
and this if possible

This suspense is killing me.

Rip?

It seems to, yup.
