Welcome to Cultural Evo, the game of MULTIFACETED GROWTH. In Cultural Evo, you will control both a small but growing village, interact with other villages, and watch as your village's culture grows and changes with the years as events force them to grapple with new introductions to their worldview.
You could have part of your village split off due to a religious or cultural schism, you could create a harmonious society based on brainwashing, or a harmonious society based on fear, or somehow get to America.
We will begin by assigning the first three civilizations. Three people can control a civilization at a time - we will begin when at least four players have assigned themselves to a civilization. In the next post, I will be giving examples of how Cultural Evolution works. Tribes are assigned first-come, first-serve.
Claimed!
Why not

Dwarves are dope

CLAIMED

Be the other tribe so we can start!
Why not? Claimed!
The Ore Tribe are a village around 40 strong. They are all miners - children are trained in the art of mining from birth, and they stockpile huge amounts of shinies (but have no idea how to smelt yet). They believe if you crack a rock open and it has ore inside, you are blessed by the nature spirits. Their village lies on the inside of a mountain range that puts them close to the sea.
The Sand Tribe is a nomadic, atheistic village that roams through their desert lands searching for food, primarily small lizards and cacti. They are about 20 strong. They believe that they were spawned spontaneously from the sands.
The Tree Tribe are a cannibalistic village of scarf-wearing tree-dwellers. They believe that cannibalism is an efficient way of recycling resources, and have discovered simple tools like clubs and whatnot made of bone. They number about 30 strong.
Attached is an example of how the CULTURAL EVOLUTION process occurs. Members of a tribe can make their tribe perform rudimentary actions, or perform their turn EVOLVING CULTURE OR ADDING A NEW CULTURAL TRAIT.
In the spirit of time, you may begin. Proceed in an orderly fashion. Once everyone takes a turn, I will post a quick status update, and then you may proceed with the next turns, and so on.
please note that this is a trial test and i have a vague idea of what I'm doing so excuse the clusterfuck.
>>29889
Start using every part of human remains like native Americans did with the Buffalo. Weapons, shrines, tools all have human bone as a main component.
>>29889
>The Ore Tribe are a village around 40 strong. I propose we add a new trait to the Ore Tribe, that all of nature has a spirit tied to it
>>29921
Also can my people make leather yet? If not they are definently experimenting with ways to preserve skin for clothing. Gotta stay green!
>>29936
That sounds pretty good
>>29958
The Tree Tribe has the most in the way of rudimentary tools, using bones as clubs and hammers and whatnot. The Sand Tribe has no knowledge of tools, but they are dextrous enough to rip the spines out of cactuses and store them for later use while they consume the flesh. The Ore Tribe breaks rocks open by smashing them against other rocks.
Is it too late to join the nomads?
>>30016
Nope.
>>30016
Nah we can hold one more person
>>29979
Well then if leather is still a bit away I would like to add a trait
>xenophobia
Tree Tribe believes the blood of their ancestors has been passed down to them through their ritualistic cannibalism. Everyone inside the tribe considers everyone to be family. Others who aren't in the tribe are considered unclean or mongrel-ish for not sharing the blood of their ancestors.
>>30053
I agree. I think our first and foremost goal should be expanding our culture. Without morals we become monsters, or Trump supporters.
>>29889
What in the way of natural resources do the Ore Tribe have? What do they eat and such?
>>29889
Official duel
>>30083
What tribe are you apart of?
>Tree tribe
>Ore tribe
In a moment, lads, I'm compiling the first turn.
>>30076
Like...?
>>30076
Yes.
Changing my name in case others join.
>>30149
Oral tradition could be good for general information and knowledge, seeing as how we live in the desert and there's probably no paper. Let's stay nonreligious, though - we don't want to end up like those tree folk.
>>30149
Nigga please, were atheists, why would we try to MAKE our own religion. You have been kicked from the sans tribe (jk)
>>30171
Hey man we are just a pragmatic group of people who didn't want a bunch of perfectly good meat and bones go to waste. And we are one with our dead relatives. Ancestorless heathens.
>>30189
Our ancestors live through the words we speak you psychotic people eaters
>>30189
Enjoy your aids.
>>30200
People aren't words sandcrawler. People are blood and flesh and sinew. To eat them is to take their strength and make it your own. I do not wish to live in your world where your ancestors aren't one with you.
>>30074
On occasion, the Ore Tribe eats rocks, but their normal diet consists of birds and small, goat-like mammals that are not quite goats because this is not earth.
The Tree Tribe, when they aren't eating their own, mostly subsist on plants and berries.
>>30221
If you guys can spare about 10-20 minutes I can make tiny sketches of the tribe's current living conditions
>>30221
Is it time for the next round friend?
>>30221
Other Sand tribe members what should we work on next.
>>30172
How about...Sand SCIENCE! ?
>>30264
Irrigation?
>>30221
Lets see... New trait time I think..
I say we add Elder Veneration or children who find lots of Ore-Filled rocks are to be trained as shamans to the Nature Spirits. What do you think other Ore Chief?
>>30246
I can wait, I got nothing else to do today
>>30288
I think that's a good idea, how will we actually dig though. With our hands? or should we try and figure out tools first?
>>30317
How about,
Ore->Tools->Irrigation
It'll take a few years, though.
>ore tribe
>>30351
Damn sand people propaganda
>>30358
Okay, let's go with that. We live in the desert, so pottery should be a guarantee.
>Tree tribe
>>30371
>working on pottery
Man I can't wait to smash all those pots with the skull-club of my grandfather Sandcrawler
>>30387
Look at all those people coming together! It's an excellent social bonding ritual and helps us regain the loss of our departed.
Though these savages haven't removed the bones for use.. Tsktsk
>>30394
War is a bit much. Granted, they are disgusting cannibals, but they'd beat the shit out of us in a fight. Let's just settle on mutual disgust, for now.
>>30401
Whenever people think of tree tribe they think of this, you scare no one you cannibals
Is it too late to get in on this?on phone right now, I.D is subject to change
That took a while, also, I'm bad at MSpaint.
Do we have a consensus on the tribe's next turns?
>>30420 nope i think ore and tree tribe have open spots
>>30426
Thanks! Looks cool. Also, can we have a count of members? It's hard to tell who's who with only seven players.
>>30446
There are 40 members of the Ore Tribe, 20 members of the Sand Tribe, and 30 members of the Tree Tribe.
The first year has been uneventful. There have been no births or deaths for any of the tribes, nor any natural events.
>>30453
The forest is home to several deer-like things around the edges, but mostly small birds and insects.
>>30424
No, I think tree and ore both have a slot.
Let's put our shiny rocks on the fire but make it, like, REALLY hot
Where the ore people at?
I propose we spend our time studying the art of smelting and crafting of our precious metals. We can leverage our early knowledge of mining and prospecting into a monopoly on all economic resources that the other tribes would need to grow. If we learn to build effective weapons fast, we can enslave the other tribes and force them to work for us. While we spend our time studying other skills and exploring the island.
>>30500
Well then... I say we focus on getting smelting, then maybe go on the war path
>>30515
Sounds like a plan. Let's force the peasants to do our bidding. They are nothing but savages.
>>30540
You mean the people? They already do that, and by your logic we are savages to. I say we start carving out a fort in the hills! Like proper Dwarves!
>>30535
Are you taunting me you fucking savage? My sons will grow up to rape your daughters, they will not only carve their names into your bloodline but also carve their faces into your brains.
Prepare to bleed, savage.
What I have surmised so far
>ore tribe is pretty much rome without the culture
>sand tribe are egypt without the army
>tree tribe are the celts with more cannibalism
>>30559
Woah, take it easy, rockie.
I think from now on, just because that seems to be the way it's going anyway, we'll have it so that
>Every team gets 1 NEW TRAIT or MODIFIED TRAIT per turn that they must generally agree on
>Every team gets to have their tribe perform 1 ACTION
Sound reasonable? Compiling the next turn now.
>>30560
Yknow I was actually going for a tribe based on uncontacted South American tribal culture with Indian spiritualism thrown in. But the Celts are undeniably badass so I may take some of that and throw it in for shiggles.
>I was actually going to create spiritual cannibals but everyone wants the warlike cannibals.
>>30581
I like it!
>>30581
Next turn
We mate and get like 5-6 children
New trait Crafting?
>>30581
Fantastic. My action for the round is interconnecting the trees and making a network to travel around the forest
The new trait?
>Animal worship
Since animals are so rare in the area they are believed to be incarnations of the spirits that live in nature. By consuming them an individual gains the strength of the animal in question and can start the trials to become a shaman since so few in the tribe have consumed anything besides berries or humans
Okay, real quick, can someone from each team summarize your team's cultural trait and action for this current turn? Thank you, I love you all by the way <3
>>30628
Children who find lots of ore are trained to be shamans for the nature spirits
We start carving better homes into the stone
>>30596
K.
Richard, since we're like 90 posts in, can you see who's on what team?
>>30645
Yes, keeping track of people is easy.
>>30647
I thought that was next turn
>>30652
Can you make a list? I'm a little confused, actually.
>>30672
With the turn update I will.
Is Sand Tribe fully occupied?
>>30681
Thanks.
>>30647
Edit
This is next turn rich
>>30683
Yes
erm what is going on?
So can i just join any tribe now or are they all full?
How do I get in on this shit
Uh, should we expand the teams next turn? I'd hate to exclude some anons.
>>30702
Madness
>>30715
New tribes will be introduced soon-ish
>>30713
I believe they are all full, but we'll find out in a bit.
TURN 2 FOR THE ORE TRIBE (the rest are coming in a second, I'm just doing them sequentially)
>>30727
You lost your tag, mr scribe. These ID's arent useless apparently
I thought this was gonna be shit
But it's pretty okay
7.5/10 OPdontfuckup
>>30730
Good call on building storage before we focus on smelting.
lurking here and hoping for getting some action
>>30743
Ah, shit. Thanks for noticing.
>>30728
Is magic a thing?
Are monsters a thing?
NEXT POST WILL INCLUDE THE ROSTER
>>30754
This
>>30759
We dont know yet. I hope so though.
>>30762
>Got water without even having to do shit
Nice.
>>30762
Hopefully we dont get our shit fucked up
>>30759are monstergirls and boys a thing?
So, m'sandies, what should our next move, be?
WE
>>30822
WUZ
>>30836
ROCKS
>>30836
GAY
>>30803
Mating
New trait: crafting
We can rest easy a little we found water we need pots and pans etc for cooking food
>>30802
I hope to god no
Actually I think since this is a trial run we should keep it without many fantastical elements to keep it easier for OP.
>>30851
Eh, just a bit makes things more interesting, cannibal hippyfag
The following IDs lead the Ore Tribe.
>>29844
>>30500 (nice dubs)
now >>30822 i guess
The following IDs lead the Sand Tribe
>>29883
>>29912
>>30016
The following IDs lead the Tree Tribe
>>29816
it turns out there are two slots in the tree tribe open
>>30802
No fantastical elements right now because this is already SO CRAZY on my end.
>>30849
Good.
>>30880
can i join?
>>30880
I'll wait for a new tribe
>>30900
accidentally create my first tripcode
>>30880
I have updated my trip as Im going to cover the culture stuff if no one else minds.
As for my bid for culture, imporve the nature spirit trait to have the two most powerful nature spirits, the Earth and the Sky, who control all the lesser spirits. If we know of the Sea/ Destert/ Forest, add those to.
If no one else suggests something, continue improving the settlement for the tribe action
*dances around fire to traditional israeli music*
>>30939
>traditional
>israeli
>>30939
We have music?
Dont remember that...
>>30880
Alright, so for my action the ternagers in the tribe go out and start making traps to capture animals such as tiger pits to capture animals for shaman rituals
The new trait
>Organized leadership
The whole tribe considers each other to be blood family so the entire tribe shares resources. A council organizes the tribe, it is comprised of a group of people (5) who have eaten previous members of the council and have therefore "inherited" their position in the tribe. The council organizes but the tribe can choose to disregard them if it is proven that an order is somehow not beneficial to the tribe
>>30880
Calling position
I say we try animal husbandry with whatever local animals we can find
Preferably something that can hunt
>>30982
It says right there that animals are revered.
>>30918
Name yourself and we can deliberate on the next turn.
Sorry this tribe has been my baby..
>>30998
Yeah, for eating to gain their powers man. Covered that in the post about it. Food is power to these people
>>31022
Oh. Still, typical cannibal, can't even decide if he likes animals or not.
>>31022
They eat people communally unless it's a council member. Animals are so rare that eating one gives you their spirit and makes you eligible to become a shaman. Hence why they are revered.
>>31022
I say we love animals but once they get wounded/die they are fair game for noms
>>31022
>food is power
You obese cannibal shits
>>31077
agree
>>30933
Love how Ore Tribe is coming down to a dictatorship because no one protests my choices.
Looking to bring on new advisors who will actually present ideas, Forest and Sand tribes need not apply
Alright, everyone summarize their CULTURAL ACQUISITION and ACTION for this turn. I think it'd be a good idea to designate a leader who'll speak for your team in the END-OF-TURN SUMMARIES :3
>>31099
>As for my bid for culture, imporve the nature spirit trait to have the two most powerful nature spirits, the Earth and the Sky, who control all the lesser spirits. If we know of the Sea/ Destert/ Forest, add those to.
>If no one else suggests something, continue improving the settlement for the tribe action
I think Im gonna get the speaker job
>>31099
Mando can do it for the sand tribe, I guess.
Yo sand tribe I just realized something other tribes might think we are magic if we give them 'stone' statues of animals and people. We know that gods don't exist but they don't.
>>31115
good luck with kuru you people eaters.
>>31110
trait: crafting
action:mating
>>31099
For action
Sand tribe mates our oldest and gets 5-6 children in the next two turns
Trait: Crafting we are ok in building weapons, in turn, we are amazing in building pottery and vases
>>31155
KEK
KILL YOURSELF I LAUGHED
>>31155
Well, you're 1/3 right.
>>31152
I think we should stay nomadic as long as possible. We will be the desert version of the huns.
>>31194
Emu?
>>31115
I accept your nomination, I shall go eat the leader of the council and gain his powers
>>31194
Emu?
forget trip
Watching these peasants attempt to come into the desert where they have no water and noway to carry it. Good luck with your precious animals dieing of dehydration.
>>31155
Only in /qst/ KEK
>>31240
We need to dedicate an action next round to finding predatory animals. But OP didn't say there were emus in our forest. Just deer and some other smaller animals. Part of the reason we are cannibals is the lack of meat in our home
>>31155
I like you. I really can't wait to see our cultures clash. Especially since I control all of the land that leads out of the peninsula. The only way out of your land will be a trap filled forest full of cannibals.
Have fun :D
>>31263
predator right? but it seem very hard and impratical, maybe some wolf/fox/hound ?
>>31294
Once again, it depends on what we find when we dedicate an action to finding an animal to domesticate. I'll take anything. It took 10,000 years to turn the wolf into a dog. We have time
>>31290
we will just wait until you desertify your land because of over harvesting and waltz out of the nice shiny desert you leave behind
Requesting the tribal council on the possibility to Build giant ORE WALL on the borde to defend ourselves against the barbarians.
>>31290
Speaking of, im thinking we make a big fuck off sized wall
>>31324
we live on tree right? maybe do something like air corridor linking each other house//tree, forming a mid-air village
>>31323
That seems impossible currently considering its taken us 2 years to dig the equivalent at rabbit warrens
>>31350
Remember that you are carving Rabbit Warrens out of the stone side of a mountain though, which is hardcore.
Hey, I'm thinking we try diplomacy, this turn. Any takers?
>>31344
Ithis was my long term goal. To create a treetop system of paths that allow for greater mobility and air superiority. The potentials for ambushes are amazing.
>>31314
Hey, with the Ore Tribes current natural rescources, what could we make in the way of instruments? Im interesting in Music for culture
And... Fair point I suppose
>>31381
I Say diplomacy with the ore tribe and as a trait the best crafters are the highest members are society.
>>31381
By diplomacy you mean we have like a tribal council or something?
>>31375
Alright tree council. I'm going to write up our turn. Our action is going to be hunting for potentially domesticateable animals for hunting, what new trait should be introduced?
>>31394
You have lots of fleece and fur, as well as a couple of twigs and many stones, both large and small, and shiny ores. The Ore Tribe only eats the edible portions of the animal and usually leaves the rest to rot.
>>31394
Wanna know what could make cool instrument. Pottery.
Is it too late to join?
>>31382
I say we opt for animal husbandry now
As for an action though maybe scout to the east
>>31425
Wait for new tribes mang
seriously, i dont really know wtf is going on except for giving ideas when inquired.
>>31429
Nyet, we should see about turning some of the spare 'recycled' parts into bows...Horn and sinew bows
>>31274
For culture this turn.... Elder Veneration
For tribe, unless someone protests, I say explore the coast.
>>31449
Yeah actually building more might be a better idea, at least make us an edge when it comes to defence
the other tribes conspire against us
My liege, we need to do something on the potential alliance of Sand-Ore.
>>31478
We will build the wall and we're getting those sand and forest niggers to build it for us!
>>31478
Actually....
Holy shit thats not a bad idea. FUCK THE COAST, LETS GET THE WALL UP
>>31484
we can choose it or it is on OP?
OP when will you introduce new tribes?
>>31490
Uh... it'll be on the other side, right?
>>31490
>white elephant
>>31497
We choose the cultural trait.
>>31488
TREE AND SAND NYPA
>>31502
NEVER EVER
>>31517
Fugg
>>31524
Soon
>>31478
I think that the wall would look more like this though
>>31484
Cultural trait
The elders now decide on a childs strengths at a young age and put them to certain tasks acordingly
>>31490
>Thinking the wall will work
EHEHE
This is being really fun to just watch. I'm screencaping most of it too, just so I can do something productive on this thread. Oh and also, Im rooting for the ore tribe
>>31375
Our action:
The tribe begins looking for animals with strong spirits. Predatory animals that can be captured easily.
Cultural trait: at birth the council inspects the newborn to find their strengths. As they age their position in society is decided based on their talents and strength.
>>31536
seem logical, staring a system of caste for job distribution and specialization, not unlike the others
the child on certain age is presented objects and what they choose is their path?
stealing ASOIAF: ranger (warrior), steward (maintenance), builder (construction)
>>31569
If you want we really only have 2 members, me and the priest.
>>31536
Good job brotha I was getting a little frustrated.
Our Action: We talk to the eldest person of the ore tribe about traiding, marriage of children, etc
New Trait: Education
We will be able to Build things more precisely and learn what to do and what not to do, can also help heal people in the tribe.
>>31537
We counter this with our knowledge of fire we create trigger mechanism that blows up the wall if required. checkmate
>>31591
Week and sickly newborns are consumed by the mother of the offspring so that their spirit may be reborn into a stronger body later
>>31631
>Literal baby eaters
See, ore tribe?
>>31631
Enjoy your diseases
>>31629
Id protest, but we are really just dorfs, so mechanics is just natural to us.
Hey Richard, can we sacrifice the culture advancement for a tribe action? I have a list on non culture things to do, and its growing.
>>31606
If you want I can join, but Im on mobile, so I cant draw extreme stick figure action
>>31601
I was thinking we would have a warrior, industrial and a spiritual caste
>>31651
Yes, if there is a majority consensus, you can skip a culture action for a tribe action, or vice versa.
I will give everyone 10 minutes to prepare their summaries while I prepare the *dun dun dun* NEWTRIBE
>>31643
I dont think we'd go for the marrying of our children to the Heathens, but we could trade! We have so much shiny stuff.
>>31660
This seems closer to the ideals of the tribe.
Hmm, the creation of Richard is intresting, maybe later I'll reincarnate myself into a new body this life cycle
>>31676
Shit's about to get real.
>>31688
Don't be a faggot, faggot.
Requesting the tribal council presence: Our Law system should be based on exiling criminal to foreign lands the only complication from that system is that other tribes be able to spy on Our tribe.
>>31676
Can I pre-claim the new tribe?
So can I join the ore tribe?
Also I think the new tribe needs a starting boost so they dont get crushed by the other tribes
>>31652
Eh. We dont need that, we justidea ideas to work on. Extra voices helps
>>31677
who said about marriage? we are going to rape your women, kill your men and eat your babies
>>31689
You get it! It's nature taking a social form. We are just a group of very spiritual pragmatic people replicating the machinations of nature in our society. You are wise, chef
>>31707
I'm the big guy of the new tribe
>>31731
Want to fucking fight?
>>31699kek, sorry mate. Im just a passingby anon that want to join but the team's full. Keep riding QM. And no, I'll try to follow the civil example being set by these fellow /qst/rangers
>>31717
We don't eat their babies. They don't have our ancestors blood in their veins they are mongrels.
Various Ore Peoples, here is my current list of things should do
Culture:
-Animal Spirits
-Music
-Making of Constellations and a general interesting in the Stars
Tribe:
-Leather working
-Better Fortress
-Explore the Coast
-SMELTING
Any suggestions to add to this?
>>31726
speaking of which, what can i help on the tribe summary, my liege
>>31738
Yeah, Fuck You
IN YEAR FOUR, A DISCOVERY IS MADE
Beginning in the next turn, members of the Mire Tribe may begin. They venerate insects and arachnids as being purer of form, and live inside a particularly hostile swamp. They know how to work with spider silk and insect husbandry.
>>31778
Claim
>>31755
I input the summary already for this round. I'm waiting to see how the animal search goes before I decide. However I think next round we should forgo the cultural trait and take two actions. Preferably something to do with infrastructure and animal husbandry
>>31778
Claimed
>>31778
Claim
>>31778
Claiming the new tribe.
>>31754
My vote is to prioritize smelting, weapon and armor crafting.
>>31754
Constellations and smelting should be your main stuff. Think about it: later on when the tribes start building boats you already have the "star know-how" that should help navigating the seas
Can I have a finalized summary from the Tribespeakers?
>>31794
Name yourself accordinglyHow you mire folk feel about a little cannibalism?
>>31784
yes, my liege. Why are we so poor in resource btw? Others will have metal soon
>>31794
Im guessing our the illustrious leader for our new tribe is wyatt?
>>31807
Culture: Elder Veneration
Tribe: Making our hole village into a Hill Fort.
>>31788
Sorry! D:
>>31821You can decide later
>>31811
There you go fag
>>31821
All hail this Wyatt man!
>missed the roll call
Well atleast a mire tribe, that lives on the swamp haveBrayWyatt as its leader >>31794
>>31811
Like the great black widow, you can only eat those who you slept with during their life!
(This also has the bonus of keeping up our population, since sex=more food)
This storyline is juicy... The ore, sand, and tree tribes all are at war. Until one day the mire tribe is found and all hell breaks loose.
Will the sand people and ore learn to get along with the degenerates? Or will the mires take over and overpower all tribes! Find out next time on CUTURAL EVO
>>31786
>7 seconds behind
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>31869
Think about all the dead body bits we put to use
Some bodies may make good breeding pits for insects
>>31819
I assume since we live in the trees and worship animals we have paid no mind to the ground.
Which gives me an idea.. Mayans used to actually cultivate the forest around them. It looked wild but they tended to herbal plants and irrigated the forest to promote growth of food. We should do the same next round since we mostly consume plants
>>31879
THE ORE TRIBE MUST JOIN UP WITH US TO TAKE DOWN THE FUCKING INBREDS
>>31912
Agreed.
>>31892
The solution is to clearly join the next tribe and establish myself the new leader.
>>31893
Would you be willing to cocoon yourself to reach spiritual enlightenment?
If so, we might see an alliance.
Before we choose to Ally ourselves with the sand tribe against the tree tribe people we should make a free trade agreement between the two tribes.
The fucking tree tribe and more tribe are having a fucking circle jerk of cannibalism. I hope you all enjoy Kuru you people eating fucks.
>>31927
You realize OP creates the tribes? He isn't doing monstergirls man just drop it lol.
>>31946

No, I'm gonna eat some spiders. Go back to your cacti, sandman.
>>31946
trade my ass, we will raids as we like
>>31932
We Revere our ancestors and you think humans are trash. I see no hope for a formal alignment but I do see opportunities for trade.
>>31967
Fuck you, stay out of our lands.
>>31965
You arent, he's referring to my negotiations.
Sharing body parts we havent got use for a bug breeding pits
>>31967
Nah, we need to work with what we've got. We've barely done anything in our own little oasis. I say we take up a government.
>>31981
HOOPLA!
How did the wall building go?
>>31972
>consider spiders the higher lifeform
>eats them for food
>>32005
Eating the spiders gives us their natural powers.
>>31992
We use every part of the human my friend. We are very green.
>>31967
how you sandy going to get pass us?
>>32014
But you're killing higher beings, it implies they are weaker than you.
I swear someone fill my lungs with sand
>>32009
Nigga, i ain't eating my wife
>>32014
What if we find any new and interesting spiders in our forest. Would you trade for them?
Silk might be very beneficial for us.
>>31981
So, for this turn I say we do Smelting, and Explore the coast. No culture. While its all well and good we have a back water of stuff that could be used, and I want a fishing village for more food ASAP
And complaints?
>>32029
you telling me spinning web is not an ancient mystical power?
>>31999
The wall building did not occur yet, unfortunately, as you have a lack of sophisticated enough tools and materials to create more than "a big lump of rocks."
>>32019
What about the corpses of our enemies?
We dont eat them because of their tainted ancestral blood
Plus with the sand and ore people ganging up we need to get some friends
>>32048
How does this have to do with what I said.
You are eating what you think are higher beings. To eat them, you must kill them.
If you can kill them to the point that they are what you regularly eat, would that not imply you are more powerful than them?
Should I try one of these sorts of quests with cultists?
What do my spider bros think about trading silk for wood from the tree people and using it to create "nests" where we harbor spiders and other sorts of things?
>>32053
We haven't even made contact with these folks in game yet. I'm not even sure if we actually know they exist.
>>32071
Sounds like it could work, but you should have more cults and players per cult.
>>32060
seem ok but those guys are like shiting a ton of actions and we are like only 2
>>31967
Fuck the no mans land the desert is its own no mans land. Lets start establishing a central meeting place that multiple tribes can meet at once per year. We exchange information and materials for trade with other groups of people.
That way we have multiple groups of people so they can't destroy our main group if they actually manage to survive in the desert.
Can the Mire Tribe get a stat screen to see where we at?
Also, I'm thinking about researching nets and poisons, so we can be more like our great divine leaders.
>>32034
She's dead anyway bro. Just take a bite, she won't mind.
How about this for a emblem?
Give me some time to create the culture sheet for the Mire Tribe, and then you can begin your turn.
>>32071
Do it.
>>32087
I like it. We can sleep in hammocks too!
>>32108
Alright
>>32052
Is incidental good, cause yay we made a baby
>>32108
Oh god we ended up going for the eating dead children option
I thought we were going for the 3 castes system'?
>>32100
But my wife was perfectly healthy and pregnant just yesterday, what happened?
Requesting trade with sand tribe:
Wheat and Palm Tree Wood for Tool making in exchange for Ore and Salt.
>>32144
The hell did they get wheat and palm trees....
Also, we have tools. We make them out of the brush and rocks.
>>32144
Hm... What type of tool EXACTLY.
>>32144
we have clay pots and figurines as well as sandstone and limestone.
OP do we have salt?
>>32090
I'd be basing them on the Gropagas of Lord Inglip and the opposing cults.
>>32134
That's what was in the summary I was given.
>>32174
so it is you, i will remember you.
fuck you and your resource
clay, salt, metal, why not uranium?
>>32140
She died. Life is cruel and there are no gods, only insects. Her inner shell will now be revealed from her weak flesh, and it is our job to help her in that process.
Besides, there are plenty of other bees in the hive dude. You'll find someone new soon enough.
why are you my liege?
My Tree Brother, what do? i am just a chef
>>32179
Player made cults?
>>32166
Hmm. How about for a cultural addition we build nests (which are basically shrines) where we construct beds of silk to sleep like the powerful ones?
And for an action we offer a trade to the tree people, silk for wood to construct shit
>>32108
The tree tribe will take two actions this round
>begin attempting to domesticate the deer beasts as animal companions for riding and hunting and meat when they pass. Once a deer beast is consumed by a person they have inherited it's spirit and may become a shaman if the so wish
>the tree tribe begins to cultivate plant life in the forest. They begin trying to promote food plants and kill weeds. Attempting basic irrigation by diverting small streams into areas that need more water. Poisonous plants will be replanted in designated areas until a use can be found for them.
>>32174
The only tribe with access to salt is the Ore Tribe, and they do not know how to harvest it yet.
>>32223
You need to spend one turn sending an emissary to a tribe before you can offer trades.
>>32198this could be an intresting belief tho. Yall mire people beliefs in prophetic doppleganger or something
>>32181
Oh man I totally forgot to write about the caste system..
Ok, so next round we can take a cultural step and add the caste system I guess. I added the baby thing as an addendum and Richard just flew with it I guess lol
>>32198
But i liked my wife.
I don't want a new one
I propose a cultural advancement of life-long monogamy in her memory
Meta-ing
How long will this take? Is all major players still active/awake?
>>32288
It's 5 PM where I live.
Hey Ore tribe we have craftsmen to make figure of you nature spirits and to hold your ore.
We can trade that for some tools.
>>32288
Checking in I guess
On average each round has taken 20-30 minutes for OP to finish.
I'll be active all day as long as the thread keeps moving at this pace.
No caste system for next round. As for our action you want to check out that freaky spider infested swamp next door?
>>32299
dont fall for it, figure made by pagan is tainted and literally not working
>>32288
Im still kicking, just waiting for the end turn or something Ore related to happen.
This dictator ship is dull I tell ya
>>32298
Join the club QM
>>32299
O look something ore related. Hmmmm. I think we are good on tools, we know how to make picks (I think at least). Also the nature spirits have no form, for they are the land. (subject ot change soon)
>>32223
I like the nest idea. I also want to put a big focus on community, since our human bodies are so weak on their own.
>>32326
Sure. Mold your weak skin for the glory of the manylimbed!
>>32314
i think we should work on the caste asap as being the way of job specialization, the way of progression. Let the Mire tribe be , they means no harm
>>32330
Agreed, urbanized cities will be prioritized over villages
>>32314
I meant SO not NO caste system sorry
>>32323
Cultural:We religiously explain the art of smelting to the tribe members as a art given to us by the sprits.
What'd I miss?
Okay so other sand tribe bros are around not much just discussion of somethings
>>32360
The caste system would be a cultural trait. What should we do for our action? I suggested making contact so that we can have a an infusion of new product and begin trade
>>32384
Humans are too weak on their own
Spiders may live alone because they are powerful
>>32383
Thats already on the list of the to do this turn
No culture, just tribe. Smelting and Exploration of the Coast for stuff.
whoa thanks for partially mentioning me, mire khan. Even if Im just a formless sound, I'll pray for your clan safety
>>32383
how the fuck u ppl going to these, OP mentioned u cant even stack a fucking stone wall, how can you reach the high temperature?
>>32393
I'm back, just went to get a snack. What's our plan?
>>32404
Cultureless heathens
>>32383
you don't know how to smelt yet, but I'm sure if you start throwing things onto the fire you'll figure it out eventually.
>>32395
my liege is open-minded. May i suggest with Mire Tribe first?
>>32411
Copper maybe? Campfires are pretty hot.
>>32404
We are exploring the coast basically from the beginning of the game and op says we can not extract it.
>>32393
Im alive, op is in est, probs virginia
Caste as cultural and contact as actions my votesky
>>32435
Meta-we totally have no clue the more folks exist. We need to go meet them by going to the swamp and establishing first contact.
I know it's confusing since we have all been talking shit to each other, but none of us have actually met yet except for the sand and ore folks and that only happened last round
Okay mire bros, for cultural trait do we do the arachnid-after-death thing, and for action we attemt to build a community?
>>32450
Philadelphia. You might've been able to guess this if you've been at my Hotline Miami 09 quest :#
>>32449
also i refering to salt on this post
>>32449
hey, you guys go fishing yet?
>>32468
Sure. After that I think we should make a deal with the tree people to get their trapping technology, so we can have webs to catch animals with.
>>32462
I did some digging, with your average campfire around 900 F, would could smelt Tin and Lead. We could also smelt the a common copper ore called malachite
>>32467
Yeah so we just choose scout east as the option
and then next turn learn enough of their language to communicate and then we wont have to worry anymore
>>32484
What about democracy? If we enter a caste system, we'll be no better than the people-eaters.
>>32492
Agreed, let them come to us for a trade so we can use our action for domestic purposes.
>>32477
Im talking about checking for stuff like crabs and fish.
Also, we could probably learn to extract it from our Saltwater river
>>32469
Im in md, lol im not a hacker
Meta-ing
This concept is nice where we are divided into fractions and shittalks each other
>>32222
nice quads
>>32517
yes, my liege.
>>32501
That is a good idea but we also need to promote artisanism?? if that is a word
Maybe they get special privileges or something
Tribe theme coming up:
https://theinsectworshipcollective.bandcamp.com/album/al-azif
>>32534
Chef, you are a great asset to your community and your ancestors are proud
>>32545
Meta-ing
care to tell what kind of place you guys are living? desert?
>>32583
Desert.
>>32562
my liege is generous at word and deeds.
>>32583
There's a map at the beginning of the thread
Alright, can I have a turn summary for each tribe?
For onlookers - the fifth tribe will be introduced around turn 7-8. No, you may not "call it" for spots.
>>32583
... Read the beginning post.
Okay, fellas, what should we agree on for this turn?
>>32599
with many greenland/greenisle/whatever the shit called it is. How do guys go into crafting and clay-making? The specialty should be like herding of those Arabian tribe. Or u guys are like the Egytian ?
>>32631
We could also try and make musical instruments like pipes or hollowed tubes. we could also do xylophone type things.
>>32614
No culture this turn.
Copper Smelting, and exploring the coast for food and anything that might be of use. Like... drift wood. I dont know I just want crab and fish
>>32631
I think we should go for a gov't system though
>>29797
I'm too high for thos
>>32614
Cultural trait: The old and useless are given to the spiders, so they can be reborn in an arachnid form.
Action: Put a big focus on strengthening our community over our individuality. Only together may we thrive.
>>32636
Sounds neat. And for culture? I'm still going for a central government.
>>32637
Aw thanks shaman man
>>32666
hey their satan
Yeah central gov't system is good
>>32636
Meh, musical instruments doesnt matter.
Is our scout still here btw?
>>32673
K. Chief, any suggestions?
>>32705
hehehe, we know it now.
Tribal System, we all talk about ideas/ government
For the Trait: someone choose
>>32744
Pictograms on our pottery To make learning easier
One day
>>32767
Yep.
As I write up TURN 5, I give unto you... A gift!
A GIFT OF WORLD MAP
>>32786
Boats have just jumped up on priorities....
Also, is there more world to explore? Besides this island?
>>32796
Potentially.
>>32786
So do we live in a swamp?
And, again, is our Scout still here? Because if he's not I think I'd like someone to replace him.
Shaman Bro
We have got to make contact with spider guys and expand our territory, we have second best point of access to new lands we have to make use of it now rather than later
>>32796
I think we need to figure out a way to expand into the other territories. Don't you agree Ore tribe.
>>32819
Yes, the Mire Tribe lives in a swamp.
>>32827
my Brotha is ambitious, raft would be easy to us or we can simply swim to that island
>but are those religions reserve for later tribes?
>>32843
Collaborative Boats!
Why do you think Im working on with this coast thing? Im also gonna push for better metal stuff.
What does having control of 2 regions give us?
Extra actions per turn?
>>32637
my liege still awake?
I say we should maybe sacrifice our culture this turn for a monolith, if we're also going to spend an action point on boat building.
>>32886
You could use pottery to shape tools better. We can exchange this with each other don't you agree. Clay casts in exchange for metal tool heads.
>>32895
The other regions are reserved for other tribes to spontaneously appear in, but if you conquer someone then you simply get access to their resources, and an additional action per turn of either category.
>>32912
warring anytime anywhere?
I really like this qst!! I just read the whole thread and I love how all these people work together to make new cultures! Here is a funny pic of my dog as a reward
>>32917
Good luck trying to survive in a desert shit lords.
Gotta go guys. I ellect chef as leader in my absence
>>32918
I really, really, really like that image.
Since the sand tribe has a better education than us i suggest we request schematics and books from them so we can build our wall.
>>32942
oi, me here 6 am
>>32951
With that last turn we subjugated spirits
Magic exists boys, time to get crazy
>>32741
Brotha u there?
>>32970
sadly i think it is on deer herding. Planning now?
i suggests:
explore east to make contact with Mire
WE WUZ SAND PEOPLE AND SHIT EDITION
we wuz buildin fire and shitZ
For the Trait: Making electromagnetic
>>32968
I suggest this as our new fashion style. More limbs!
>>32985
Sadly i'll be needing to go to bed soon
Lurkers theres already a space free and soon theres gonna be another, feel free to join the master race
LURKERS, THE TREE TRIBE IS OPENING VACANCIES. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.
>>33013
Can I suggest a monolith for the trait?
>>33039
We also have some opening here in Ore Tribe.
1... maybe 2? I dont know HEY ORE PRIEST YOU ALIVE?
>>33046
Monolith is a good idea
Do I have any tribe mates left?
Because I want to start thinking about how we differentiate ourselves from the other tribes in a good way.
The Sand tribe has education and pottery, the Ore tribe has copper, Trees have farming. I'm thinking we start using or silk to make fishing nets. We do live in a swamp, after all.
>>32996
Spiders have eight legs, nigga.
>>32071
>>32090
>>32222
>>33056
>>33063
Thanks. I just figure if we're centralizing our tribe, it would be cool if we were the first to have a monument.
>>33062
I AM ALIVEEEEEEEEEEE...... THE SINS NEVER DIE
Some ideas for all tribes
me alone on top of tree
If I don't get a reply from my other tribemates in the next 10 replies, can I open 2 new vacancies?
Cuz I'm kinda alone over here.
>>33118
Yes.
>>33039
Can I join as a Mire Tribe? Or are they arent recruiting yet?
Allow me to serve, O Priest >>33118
I also think that yiur suggestion of the fishnets to be grand. After all, those fishes are weak creatures, unlike our revered bugs
If a new tribe is still opening soon then I will just wait to join it instead of joining one of the openings in the established tribes
seriously speaking, going to retire soon. Anyone want to takeover Tree Tribe?
Lurking, Quite engaged/entertained
>>33196
A new tribe will not be opening for another couple of hours, and the tree tribe needs new leaders for the time being.
If nobody claims them, I will begin performing their turn-ly actions, and I am kind of an imaginative douchebag :3
>>33208
-Meta
Would you be joining us again? Then maybe the muted tribes can continue play, albeit they wont do anything relly significant. Maybe QM can just put a fun but meaningless flavor text in their action or cultural progress to play along their absence
>>33234
There is three slots open in the Tree Tribe.
For EVERYONE ELSE who is currently playing, remember that, even if the thread is getting slow, you still have a turn to be planning! :3
>>33234
We have lots of slots! I think every tribe does
>>33234
There's still one spot left in the mire tribe, and three in the tree tribe.
>>33242
I have a plan for the current turn, and I have a general plan for the next couple of them
do some jobs before transcending:
Cultural Trait:
Caste system determine from birth by the elders, for job specialization. They are Ranger (warrior, patrolling); Farmer (grow plant and herd deer); Harvester (forest harvester and lumbering, building)
erm, can i just joining for a longer bit of time to discuss with the tree tribe successors?
>>33269
Yes.
>>33247
Can I join my dude
>>33273
Sure, if you like bugs. Just pick a role.
Tree tribe open 2 slots now, another 1 soon pls
BIG MONEY
>>33272
My turn is Copper Tools for Tribe, and constellations for Culture
So ore tribe bros do you want to trade tools for casts?
>>33283
aye aye sir, reporting in
>>33292
>ore tribe bros do you want to trade tools for casts
Yeah lets do this. LETS US COMBINE OUR POWER TO KEEP BACK THE BLOODY INSANE BARBARIANS.
>>33295
yello, youngun.
>>33281
I'll guess i'll take up the hard work lmao.
Also I second the idea of working with silk from spiders.
So as our action I think we should start creating fishnets out of silk and start fishing.
And for our culture trait, I'm kinda thinking about spreading our insect overlords to other regions. They are divine beings after all, and these other tribes should revere them as we do.
Either that, or make more fashion out of our silk.
>>33301
Ok nice
Out turn looks like building a monolith,
and also developing a central leadership for our tribe
>>33308
Methinks we're still a bit thin on numbers for a caste system. And our culture is a bit self-destructing as it is. Why not encourage polygamy?
>>33039
Claimed.
Gotta start hunting non-treepeople for food, mateys.
>>33335
How fucking worse can you get you fucking psychotic people eaters.
>>33292
The thread is dying, TIME FOR WAR. WE SEND 10 MEN FROM OUR TRIBE TO THE TREES TO SLAP THEY FACES
>>33311
C-call me a heathen, for all I care.. Is it just me or Spiders are actually superior than the other bugs? Spiders eat bugs! T-trapped ans s-spin them in their silky nets! Oh! Bugs forgive my insight! P-protect me from the scrubbling bugs, O Strong Spiders!
New tribe springing?
>>33382
Slow down there, hoss! We have like 30 people, and it took us 4 turns to get our numbers up 10. We don't want to start a war we can't win.
>>33406
We still have about another 475 posts and 48 horus or so before autosage. Don't worry about it.
Can I get a turn summary from the four tribes?
>>33416
>bugs
>>33414
Copper Tool Making in Tribe
Stars and Constellations in Culture
>>33370
Well, we are too few to keep eating eachother, and even if we try and have a lot of babies (wich we should) it wouldn't be enough. Also, with some spices and good cooking, them shitebloods taste the same as other treefolk! I'm not saying going to the mire to hunt some guys, just search closer to home. I'm pretty sure we are not the only settlement of tree-tribals in the whole jungle, aren't you? I bet there are other villages of the tree culture in the forest.
>>33320
Yes! The other tribe should respect our spider overlords! Meanwhile those bugs are.. Are... I-Insect! J-just Insect! Spider protect me! Aoh..
>>33387
The bugs are still your superior, you heretic!
One month in the silk farms for you!
So we make fishnets, but what about culture?
Do we starts spreading the bugs, or do we make fashion? Or do we join the tree people in their cannibalism?
>>33426
Speaking of wich, have we discovered fire yet?
>>33431
Spiders are not fucking bugs.
>>33431
You can send these groggly hands to work, but you can kill the idea that had spread over our tribe members, just like the superior webs of the spider....
But yeah, fashion could work. We must appear as grand as we could be if we want to convince those weakling about our tradition
>>33414
I speak on behalf of the sand tribe.
Action - trade pots for metals with Ore tribe.
Culture - Monolith.
>>33382
>>33365
>>33426
>>33438
first, Mire is considered neutral-friendly whilst Ore and Sand are jealous of us.
why we cannibals must serve a purpose, not simply as food source as so much fruit, nuts and berries and roots to gather from forest.
Cannibalism is a funeral practice, as not wastage to against our belief
we should have fire or else we are fucked very hard
By the by, as a reward for being FUCKING AWESOME PLAYERS, here is a preview of the next tribe.
>>33462
Hey, that's slander! We don't have fire, yet!
>>33467
Schwifty...
>>33475
da fuq now, did Ore discover fire?
>>33487
Ore has had fire for a while, yes.
>>33462
>those flies
Don't you dare associate those beautiful dipterans with those ignorant dirtshaggers.
>>33481
Fire? Whats that? A new name for our glorious and better-than-bugs Lord Spiders?
>*whipping sounds*
Protect me Bugs for I have sinned... Aoohhhh
>>33452
If we want our tribe to prosper we should only venerate the superior divine entities! I say we study spiders and their silk, See if we can learn use it to craft goods!
>>33496
was there action on fire discovery?
>>33498
More like rock, rat, mountain goat, and now crabs as of late
I'm just munching on some popcorn. Want some Richard?
>>33422
>>33506
I assumed we started with it
>>33499
is everyone in the mire tribe a spider bondage obsessed weeb
>>33481
Well, even if all tribes have fire, there's still the question if we know how to make fire. For example, the Tasmanian natives didn't know how to make fire until the Dutch taught them how to. Instead, they kept in the center of the tribe a firepit or some shit that they lit up with burning branches and shit after a lightning bolt set the forest on fire. If the fire was lost, they had to go to a neighboring village to borrow some burning branches.
It is thought that the Sentinelese people do that too, although it is not known for a fact since every time anyone gets close to them they don't stop chucking spears at them until they leave.
>>33522
I know, it's disgusting.
>>33521
just saw the pic, sorry. but i had to say, u guys are far more advanced in tech without other cons
>>33522
Elder, I hope I'm not being disrespectful in any way by saying this but; spiders are superior than all of us, even you, oh great leader, we shouldn't think of them with lust, but rather respect them and venerate them!
>>33520
>knives
we are fucked
>>33522
>implying you wouldn't
Go make a ceramic fleshlight or something.
>>33506
The Ore started with it. Nobody else has fire right now.
>>33522
Probably.
>>33458
here is the update
I still need a turn summary from the Tree Tribe.
we need pointy sticks for poking the unruly tree spirits away from our plantations
>>33531
so, action is fire discovery?
trait will be FFA sex with periodic orgy ?
>>33556
Rudimentary knives. They are only capable of ripping at fur and wool with significant sawing and effort, but it's better than bare hands.
>>33520
Hey Richard, how would cultural meshing work? Id assume that as timed passed and two groups traded, stuff like beliefs and ideas would mix.
>>33544
From what I gather, the Ore have only Basic Metal tools, basic smelting, and mining. We dont have nice stuff like animal husbandry, oral tradition, writing, or farming. We are just really specialized.
>>33568
Okay scratch that, that is a bit OP being the only fools with fire....
Is Mire full?
>>33568
ST for life. What's our next move, gang?
>>33583
Yeah. Although there's a new tribe coming in soon.
>>33522
Also which will our actions for this turn be?
I'm pretty sure everyone here agrees on silk working/farming.
No idea what we'll do in culture tho? Maybe go from insect and aracnid to arachnid only veneration?
>>33559
Listen up you insect fucker the great sand tribe has a rich history culture. We are the only group of people have an education system and a writing system designed to promote the growth of out future generations. GO let ants crawl up you ass hole or something.
>>33575
well I will do the recap then
>The tree people abandon monogamy for a free form of loving, boosting the birthrate
>they craft basic spears from sharpened branches to ward off beasts
>>33567
Even when you are just a helping hand (heh get it?)
>*whipping sounds for being in a silk farm*
You should always speak your tribe name with pride! Aooooh
>>33579
Hmmmm.... what now in the glorious Theocracy of the Ore Tribe.
Eh. Im going for Tanning pelts, and then using those pelts to make tribal drums for sweet music culture
>>33599
u da man
>>33602
>>33599
I second this future meal's idea. Fire can wait. There'll always be lightning bolts from where to grab it if we need some.
>>33613
Skipped forest tribe.
Is my name showing? My browsers acting crazy
>>33623
What she we trade? This is the third time around, so I think we should go for furs or something.
>>33623
What we trading now? I dotn think trade needs to be continuous, otherwise... well honestly thats a waste of your time
>>33599
>>33648
Trade is continuous. Until a trade deal is unanimously called off, it is assumed that both societies have access to the traded goods.
>>33648
We can always trade a culture for technology.
>>33594
Arachnid only veneration would allow us to use insects for more nefarious purposes without offending our overcreatures.
I'm also kinda thinking about cultivating some honey. Or maybe research poisons, if the other tribes start acting up.
Or we can do some trading? We have fish and clothing now.
>>33627
Yeah it's here now.
>>33659
Ok thats useful
Just because I kind of lost track, here are the CURRENT POPULATION COUNTS
Ore Tribe: 50 people. (1 incidental birth per year)
Sand Tribe: 30 people. (1 incidental birth per year)
Tree Tribe: 36 people. (2 incidental births per year)
Mire Tribe: 27 people. (1 incidental birth per year)
>>33613
We should use swamp we live in to our advantage.
Do we have wood chopping yet? Because if we do I have an idea that might revolutionize the way we live.
my ppl still here, want to discuss the next action and trait?
>>33662
You want fire? Or perhaps the glorious knowledge of the fact that there are gods, specifically powerful nature spirits?
The only thing I can think of that you have that we would want would be like.... That pictogram stuff?
>>33659
Well thats good. Also, do we have berries and stuff? I ask because Im trying to build a highly cultured state here, and we need pigments for art.
Also. WHY DOES ORE TRIBE HAVE ALL THE PEOPLE? LIKE REALLY EVEN I THINK ITS WEIRD.
Next turn Im founding a bloody fishing village....
>>33686
So sand bros we will make bricks?
Also should our action be breeding?
I have an idea for another action but
A we will need more people
or
B we will need the help of the Ore tribe
>>33690
>Culture trait: Develop rudimentary reincarnation beliefs; when people die they are reborn as trees
>Tribe action: Figure out how to make fire
>The bark spider's silk is 10 times stronger than Kevlar by weight.
http://news.discovery.com/tech/gear-and-gadgets/body-armor-spider-silk-121015.htm
>Peasants in the southern Carpathian Mountains used to cut up tubes built by Atypus and cover wounds with the inner lining. It reportedly facilitated healing, and even connected with the skin. This is believed to be due to antiseptic properties of spider silk[80] and because the silk is rich in vitamin K, which can be effective in clotting blood.[81]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spider_silk#Human_uses
We can make armor and basic medicine with spider silk!
>>33690
We don't have woodchopping yet, no. We can probably trade it with the Ore tribe, although cutting down trees will almost certainly piss off the Tree tribe, who neighbour us.
Now that I think about it, maybe we should use our action on food. Surely, lizards and cacti can't last forever (and probably aren't all that good for you), so we should start going all Nile up in this bitch. No offense, Ore.
>>33721
>Figure out how to make fire
What are you gonna use for firewood? You're not going to burn nature spirits, are you?
>>33613
Ah! Our tribe is even brighter than before. Let us praise the spiders and the bugs for these glorious day. But wait, havent I seen it all before? Yeah! I remember praying for a blessing for the Mire Tribe before? Can there actually life before.. Life? Maybe our lords spiders and bugs knows about this.. They have eggs, and eggs are basicslly living creatures right? Should humans, altough weak, had an "egg" or "living" phase before Living here too?
A NEW TRIBE HAS OPENED UP, IN THE ORANGE AREA >>32786 HERE
They are the Brush Tribe. They number 15, and they will begin their next turn at the beginning of the next turn. However, there is the team opening for them right now.
>>33750
Claiming!
>>33734
Well, we can say that whenever a tree dies, it gets reincarnated as an animal, and whenever an animal dies, it gets reincarnated as a person, so no harm is done.
>>33721
bu..but we needs to cut down trees.
>>33725
I was thinking the ore tribe could help us dig a canal along our territory so we could both profit from a nile and make it longer.
>>33750
Dibs
>>33750
Joining in.
>>33750
Creative!
>>33738
What are you suggesting, Tribemember? Is there an egg inside a human woman's belly?
>>33757
so what we are doing is speedup the reincarnation to back to human and it is good?
Boy, I sure do love living, how about you guys?
>>33759
Great idea! That way it's two for one (we learn tech). And for tech? Is our chief still here? I haven't heard him pitch in in a while.
>>33759
Now that sounds bloody glorious.... but way out of reach. Like really. To far bro
We could found like a joint Sand-Ore trading town on the border between the biomes I guess though. Like I said, people to waste
>>33755
>>33760
>>33764
We apparently have lurkers, but somehow Im running a tight ship dictatorship here. What the hell Anons?
Damn lag, I was actually gonna join.
>>33793
Obviously, every member of our tribe is perfectly happy with their assigned purpose, and always strives to be their best!
>>33759
This would take far too much time it would be better cooperation between sand tribe tech and our ore to use smelting for weapons as the tree tribe is a near threat.
>>33792
Even better idea, we have a underground tunnel where we transport things leasing from us to the ores
>>33793
Spreading the one truth of happiness!
>>33780
Sure, and eating a sickly baby then wouldn't be looked at by the parents of the child as murder, but as mercy, as we would release the kid from such weak form into a sturdy tree.
Plus, fire is good for keeping civilizations alive.
>>33798
Sorry! You can always advice, though. I don't think Op minds that.
>>33722
We can optimize our fishing yield by building pile-dwelling houses in our swamps, and hanging our strong silk fishing nets, just like spider set up their nets to trap bugs!
>>33796
An Ore-Sand tribe trading post would definitely be useful.
>>33811
Holy shit your alive? I thought you got lost in the caverns....
>>33814
Again, it took us like 2 years to build rabbit warrens, unless we can pump out picks soon its not happening. Im gonna push for it soon but.... Its gonna be a while
>>33811
Honestly with our weaponry and huge numbers, the only advantage the Forest guys have is the terrain at this point
>>33846
Ill get on that next turn
Culture Sheet for the Brush Tribe
>>33878
The vape tribe
>>33819
right on, so we agree on:
Trait: reincarnation belief, ppl to tree to animal back to ppl, lumbering as mean to speedup reincarnation while refrain from animal killing as it is direct ancestor/incarnation and would bringing curse and pain to be incarnared new-born babies
action: fire discovery, most probably by lightning event
>>33878
Don't do drugs, kids.
>>33903
I do agree, my most honorable consumer!
>>33913
Near the mid-game, renaming will be available as an option.
>>33824
I like it! Although it will piss off the Tree tribe, but they hate everyone else anyway.
I've also been looking at the Spanish Fly, which is apparently a quite powerful aphrodisiac (and toxin), almost like a natural Viagra.
If we cultivate it, it'll boost our population, and we can trade it with the Brush tribe so they can always be happy!
Anyone love to communicate with Tree Tribe?
we have deer meat and milk, fruits, nuts, berries, roots, honey, lumber.
>>33776
No, Priest, I remember being a thoughtless sound, and praying for mire tribe's longevity!>>32255I mean, when we die, what part of us thats exactly being "reborn" as a spider? This confuses me greatly, O Priest. I mean, with more catchable food and comfortable wear, I have more time to think, thats all
Well, if not, we can always built whatever you priestness desire>>32270
>>33932
Nice try, cannibal.
>>33906
So should the trait be one taken out of the Ore tribe book.
Veneration of elders because they have lived the longest they know the most.
And then make babies as the action.
Or should we make the trait writing slabs to move information around?
>>33932You hate outsiders though. You probably need to revert that first.
>>33945
Education. The Ore's have great tech, but almost no culture. If we advance in one and they the other, we'll certainly beat those insane tree-dwelling.
>>33927
there is no spain in CEVO world.
>>33878
Im thinking we need to weave masks that are always smiling to prove how happy we always are.
Also sadness should represent "possession" from the one enemy of our god
>>33975
*dwellers
>>33932
Speaking of deer, maybe once our population starts growing because of our daily orgies, we can start setting up hunting outposts, wich would pretty much be two treehouses, both holding the end of a huge net, maybe made out of vines, to catch any animals that go there for enough time for our hunters to catch them.
Actually, we could do it on our main village right now, too!
Also, OP, is the player village the only human settlement in the entire region they have? Or are there roaming bands of wild humans/smaller NPC camps of the same culture around the region aswell?
>>33824
I really like this idea, friend. Sounds like something what the spider wants us to do
>>33927
So, if we trade with the ore tribe, we might learn wood working from their merchants, but the problem is what should we trade? As far as i know our current options are silk and silk derived goods or seafood
>>33995
Forgot pic releted.
>>31155
someone should update this for the modern times
Hey guys, I have read everything finally and have noticed that Ore tribe only has 2 consistent players. Now if I can join it will be 3. (almost 12pm here so lots of time).
I vote for developing our culture to value the use of tools to make better tools to be more productive.
I vote on our action being used to break an area of rocky ground up where there is grass struggling to grow and removing the rocks and then transporting soil there. Hopefully we can get some agriculture going on. Then slowly develop better foodstuffs or even just grow grass to have animals grown for meat and milk.
>mountain verification pictures
>>33956
>The Ore's have great tech, but almost no culture.
I like to think we have lots of culture.... I mean we have an entire system of belief, a small pantheon, a system of choosing Shamans, we made the bloody constellations, and we are about to have music! I also think we are pretty backwater tech wise, just real advanced in one field compared to you lot. I mean I still trying to figure out how I feed all these people! We dont have writing or oral tradition, (which I need to grab sooner or later really), and nothing related to gathering more food.
>>33984
We should search our lands for the sacred plant our God has told us about that when burnt the smoke brings happiness to all who partake.
>>33975
I think brick making might actually benefit us then. We could just build houses walls and settlements out of brick. They would not be able to destroy our settlements. The first brick village could be the trading post.
Also potential tribe symbol?
Im sorry, going to get food. BRB second sandnig in charge
>>34050
You herd deer as the ancients did wolves. Most of the time, your people are mostly vegetarian.
>>34038
I think, as per our religion, animals are infinitely inferior beings. They cannot wield fire, and are even afraid of it. Therefore, their only purpose is as tools for us to increase our happiness!
Roast them over our sacred flames for our consumption! Use their parts to create neat trinkets for our enjoyment! And if killing them makes you happy, kill them all!
>>34032
Ive been complaining for a while m8, glad to see I have a companion.
I was actually going for Leather working and making Drums with the leather for the Music Culture
Lets not do the agriculture and send like 15 people to go found a fishing village on the coast, its easier than trying to farm.
>>34035
So our actions so far are:
>Ask to trade with the ore tribe to acquire wood chopping.
>Developing a new housing system, that increases fishing yielding.
We still need a cultural action, maybe something related to our strong sense of community?
Yo! Druggie tribe! Lil suggestion for down the line. You carve a smile into a slave's face.
>>34032
Op is not really giving feedback on our tech, i think the most technically advanced tribe is now the sand tribe and the other ones are too developed on culture while most of their culture is gay orgys and cannibalism.
>>34035
Yes! But lets get their bestest tools and give them our stickiest clothings and breakablest nets as the exchange!
But still, the thoughts about my time as a formless sounds disturbs me.. Maybe I'll try to bury it under work!
>>34076
Its easier for now.
When we have many more people to feed a joint farming venture should be good.
>>34095
So shall we be a communist society?
"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" and all that?
>>34069
Hey, OP, are there other humans in the regions apart from the player tribes? I mean, for example, are there small bands of humans of the tree tribe culture roaming in the forest? Small nomad groups of sandnigs in the desert? Or is it just the player village and nothing else?
>>34121
Gay orgies will not make more babies, and we made the orgy thing specifically to make babies, so I doubt it.
You are just jealous because the only bangable things in your mountains are the rocks and the goats.
>>34076
sounds fair enough, though I think that we should still remove rocks from a more green and flat area and stack it somewhere.
On the subject of reproduction, could OP clarify that the incidental reproduction is net gains? then we don't need to consider old age and shit like that. Just assume that for every death there is a replacements + X.
>>34075
I agree with this, lets do it.
>>34122
-meta
The reason I put on a trip is because I had some matters to attend for like several hours, and afraid that these all would die when Im gone. Putting this trip so if I managed to log in here again, you'll know its me, altough my ID is different
>>34146
u make me proud. but they are right on technology, anything beside the mentioned fire?
Guys Guys, are we the first thread to be reach bump limit?
For the Brush trive, how about the belive that everything that makes you happy it's good, and so if keeps you happy it's holy. Like those fruits that make you see colors when eat them.
>>34175
Nope, it's 750. Oh well.
Can I have turn summaries for each tribe in a couple of minutes? Link your turn summary to this post.
>>34175
i though it is 750
Producer of happines for the Brush Tribe.
Hey Ore tribe, can you guys craft wood yet?
Because we have some nice fishing nets and blue jeans for you!
>>34143
Let us knit a web where we can thrive as a whole!
(Worker explotation should be forbidden, and slavery banned. Also I would like to establish now that a communist/socialist society [Or atleast our hypothetical one] does allow trading and merchants, as long as the goods they are trading aren't made by exploded workers.)
>>34209
The Ore Tribe has only access to sticks and twigs from the minimal foliage where they live.
>>34132
You live in the desert, us in the mountains, I dont really think Farming is viable for either... Im gonna try and steer use to fishing, so we dont all starve when rocks stop being edible.
>>34121
And were just hear, with a crazy number of people, building an actually strong culture (That isnt completely insane) with good tools to back us up.
>>34157
Lets put that on the back burner, we have much more productive things to do. Perhaps we can find mushroom crops or something later and grow stuff in out underground cavern.
>>34194
We be nearly out of time then. Also, Im just going with original plan of:
Tribe: The Production of Leather
Culture: Use this leather to make Drums for music culture.
>>34209
The fucks a 'wood'
>>34224
How come you were the first ones to make fire, and you don't know what wood is?
>>34234
probably we found coal
>>34234
We have like... sticks and some bushes... but whats wood? Is it like a big stick or....
>>34254
That is what I've agreed to.
>>34224
the desert is actually somewhat viable for farming IF there is river they can farm wheat but i do not see a single river on the map,
Yoyoyoooo Tree tribe!
How about you teach us the secrets to woodcrafting, and in return we give you fishnets? Or what about some nice silk clothes?
Insects are animals too, we're basically allies!
>>34276
The map is mostly symbolic. There's a river there probably.
>>34297
Can you look into a past life?
Can you see what was before all this?
>>34297
We can perfect our society as we advance, but life as community sounds like a good start
Haven't we all chosen what we are doing?
>Cultural advancement focused around improving tools and creativity
>either developing farms via removing rocks from flat areas or FISHING.
My masterpiece is done.
Still waiting for a summary from the Mire and Sand tribes.
>>34362
>Tribe: The Production of Leather
>Culture: Use this leather to make Drums for music culture
Thats what I submitted
>>34375
Action is breeding
Trait is that we make clay slabs with pictograms on them
>>34382
how about making farms so that we can have bigger animals to make better and thicker and larger leather?
>>34279
We would have to meet first, but sure. We need a front to combat the evil stone and sandnigger menace.
>>34249
>Rocks when broken become sand, and the sand stone is just sand re-made into a rock.
>Therefore the sand tribe and the rock tribe may be different people they are made from the same stuff.
>Therefore they will not fight each other, because we are the same thing.
>However wood cannot become sand or stone
>Mud cannot become sand or stone.
>Grasses cannot become sand or stone
>So The tree tribe, the Mire tribe, and the brush tribe are not made of the same stuff and thus lower tier.
>>34372
Wait.... arent your people atheist? Isnt labeling yourself gods accepting that there are gods?
>>34405
Next turn we can sacrifice our culture gain to do both Fishing Village, and setting up pens for our goat things that we've been eating.
>>34417
We just have to get past the one minor barrier of how your all spiritless heathens, and then WE CAN BECOME THE MORE POWERFUL GROUP ON ISLAND
>>34441
It means we believe in ourselves. And that's what counts.
>>34254
Im thinking for our next turn we should make burning the dead our means for them to reach our joyous god.
>>34441
Just focus on construction tools man, we'll trade you fishing tech.
I'm out for tonight, good luck tree people
>>34441
fine by me.
Also by increasing our food sources and quantity we will be able to increase our incidental breeding.
>>34436
I thought we were gonna trade w/ the ore for wood chopping as well.
Incoming. Did them all at once, posting them all at once.
OOC
This is actually why /qst/ should exist
>>34321
I can try Priest, but whatever it is, I strongly felt that is mostly relies on coordinating with one another, just like this. Off course in the end we are going to be reborn as spiders, yes. B-but Oh! Is this true?! I can see shadows of legs among mists! A--
O-oooo
O-o
O-oo
O-ohh
THE CYCLE! Our [ SPIRIT] is the essence of our beings. Our spirits have travelled and taken many form! Currently we are human, but by becoming a spider, then we can truly be free from this eternal suffering. Just like a web being sprung, in the end, it all going back to the spider's webchamber!
Also we must be nice to each other unless we are cursed into rebirthed>>33544
into being inferior beings, such as humans.. Which we are now
>>34512
Ore doesn't have woodchopping yet. Tree does, but It's kinda unclear whether they want to trade.
>>34536
Then we should research it ourselves as our technological action
>>34489
I love it.
>>34520
Thanks.
>>34535
>Got to the top for doing nothing
Today is a good day.
>>34557
Want to try and cultivate cactus's next?
Having giant cactus fields could be nice for food.
Plus many cactus's create alcohol that we could give to other tribes.
>>34520
yes. We never had any of this type of thing very often on just /TG.
Only the established shit got maintained and had content, with the cool ideas often dying.
With /qsg there is such a huge amount of stuff that people can trawl through it and find what they like.
Also bump limit and length of time things stay up is quite nice, much slower complete death of threads.
>>34513
I presume that these developments are ongoing and do not need any more turns spent on them i.e. they passively develop?
>>34520
Honestly I wasnt sure about /qst/, but this has been a bucket of fun. In other news, Im gonna disappear for a half an hour or the whole night. Dont know yet.
>>34494 dont fuck up the tribe while Im gone. If I dont return, try and convert the Sand Bros and strengthen the alliance, also try and get some bloody trees... I want boats.
I hope you archive this once we cap on the bump limit, and we get more threads going.
my vote is for slab writing system for recording mathematics.
>>34569
>All humans equally bad.
I lol'ed
>>34581
Sure. And since I'm a temporary king, I'd like to make the Sand Tribe a democratic republic. Elections will be held each turn.
>>34591
Nope! However, the swamp does have patches of solid land, like any other swamp, or you could just make beaver dens or some shit.
By the way, we're about to hit autosage, so thank you everyone for the ride. I will archive this on sup/qst/'s archive, and maybe begin a second thread somewhat later tonight (I have a movie date with the GF).
However, I will wait for this thread to die before we do a new one. Ride out that autosage, boys!
forgot my occupation..
>>34630
make a twitter and tweet out when you will post a new thread
>>34600
Alright Brush Brothers I believe all that die within our tribe/faith must be burned so the can reach our god! Also we should use the bones of the animals we kill for weapons and armor.
>>34630
thanks a lot bro.
How many hours will we need to wait?
>>34630
I'm gonna watch GoT in another hour anyway and then go to bed.
I'll definitely be back tomorrow though, this was really fun.
>>34591
-meta
Yeah, posting with phone is ugly slow and jumpy, not making me able to post in timely manner as the discussion. Im out for the day then, just like I'd say
>>34663
Of course, by leaving this world through fire, they will join our god. The parts of the animals should be used of course, crafting all sorts of things is fun! All for our tribe's happiness!
I have a proposal, that life is happiness. You can only kill to prevent unhappiness. Thus, conversely, we should always be trying to get as many people born as possible. More life=more happiness!
erm..need someone to carry the Tree Tribe, i cant handle it
We are on QSTarchive.
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/29797/
Vote it up if you feel like.
>>34739
I agree. We must bring as much joy into this world as possible for our god and to drive off the sadness of our gods greatest enemy.
If you have a vacancy, ANNOUNCE IT IN BOLD LIKE THIS so that LURKERS KNOW THERE IS A VACANCY TO FILL!
and also so that in a couple of posts i can make a VACANCY POST
>>34825
i ok for it but i am not in charge for the next thread
>>34800
Hey OP maybe putting the new thread up now for discussion?
>>34853
I'll ride this one out until the end of the turn, and then start the next one with turn 8.
>>34840
If the below is bold then bold works for non QM's
bold
yeah, bump limit reach, first thread on /qst/
>>34802
How about, trade "magic plants" for hard work?
Hard work can make you unhappy, so how about give the plants of magic happines in exchange of building things.
>>34865
fuck.
Where are my ore elders ?
>>34552
>inb4 tree tribe burns down their forests with fire by accident
>>34893
i thought the slots were:
Culture;
Tribe;
Trade;
>>34893
No, you need to take a turn to send out an emmisary.
As my last request before I drop of of /qst/ for the night, a vote for this on archives, and b get a Twitter ASAP QM I want to keep track of this
>>34893
It takes a tribe action to send an emissary, and then another action to establish a trade, but after that, the trade is continuous.
>>34923
But it takes up a trade slot, not a culture or technology/tribe one right?
>>34941
OP what is the threads twitter if their is one
>>34876
That does sound like a potential idea.
>>34875
It's not. notpaladin's thread was the first
>>34938
Oh ok.
So as long as the rest of the tribe agrees, I say we send out an emissary as our tribe action this turn.
https://twitter.com/RichardQSTDM
>>34994
Nice.
>>34969
fine, 2nd or 3rd for /qst/ and first for me being from the start to the end
bye
Allright, gotta go for the night. Keep it up, my treeggas!
>>35078
New thread.
>>34985
Before the thread sages and this turn ends, anybody has an idea for what could our other actyon be?
Wyatt here
There was a bad storm and my internet got shut out
Sorry for not being here, Mire bros
I'm gonna have to retire since I assume my spot was taken
Hey can I hop back in tonight? I'm with my family but if the thread is still going in 3 hours or so I'd love to stick around
I'm really happy with the direction Tree Tribe has gone. Good job guys.
DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE
