I wanted to try my hand at one of these

how to create a natoin
1.choos a colour

2.choose you natoins race, feel free to make one if none of the already existing ones aren't to your taste. try not to make your race own race over power.

Rules
1.every turn you use up 1 food and 1 water, you use up more food for making your populatoin perform certain tasks, eg.mining for materials
2.you get food by planting crops, and water by creating wells/capturing rain water and materials by mining for them.
3.to declare war simply declare the space you want to attack, if you're withing attacking reach of it you can declare war, then choose how much you want to actualy put into said war.
4.when you start the land you own will be randomley asigned to you, if you get fucked over then you get one re-roll

For at the center of the isle, did the World Breakers seek to make their home, for only under the peaks of the mountain, deep below the roots, did lay sleeping the Heart of Palgarai, the Pink Dragon (actually a magma chamber). At the height of the peaks, they would raise the Hammer of Hectoer (a really big hammer) over the Fang of Palgarai (a really big spike), and when it fell, the Heart of Palgarai would be awoken, and the land would be cleansed in flame and death. Thus spoke High Priest Prien Prips, Autarch of Ashes.

Of course, they didn't have the resources to do that yet, not by an industrial revolution and a half, and other religious people think they're just wrong, and other scientific people think geophysics don't work that way. Most people thought the World Breakers were just insane dwarves with an unhealthy obsession with the color pink and the end of the world. Which seems to be about right.

In the mean time, they were mostly interested in creating terrace farms to feed their people, exerting their artistry and craftsmanship to produce food from the hard scrabble rock, and expanding ever closer to the peak of the mountain, where they hoped to someday start their great doomsday construction.

About what amount of resources towards expansion would be considered "moderate" not trying to skimp or excessive? Something like 3/3/3?

As for food/water production, I'd like to be spending materials towards creating terraces and aqueducts. Keeping it balanced. Maybe the expansion towards the peak has the dual purpose of locating ice that can be melted/floated down the aqueduct.

you expend south almost uncontested, a small tribe of ygari fight you off stopping you from claiming 2 regions. you lose 1 water and 1 food, you have 9 of each

the shadow clan has 9 of each, sorry for the fuck up

you have infinite actoins, however the more acotin syou take the more likely you are to fuck a couple of them up.

the enviromentalists are unconstested and claim land with no cost.

the pink dragon approves of your worship or something, he's sleepy though so its unlikely he will pay you back until about 100 turns later or something.

you creat terrace farms successfully and tap an underground aquifier, you lose 3 materials but gain 3 water, harvest season has not come yet. you manage to make a proto type with some success, capable of firing large boulders, however over relatively small distances

We spend minimal resources on expansion this turn.

Our focus is on building farms as high tech and efficient as possible whilst also not damaging environment much if possible.

the empire of the deep begins cultivating and testing variouse under ground vegetation, with some success. they manage to cultivate a sort of sweet tasting grass and glowing hallucinatory mushrooms. having discovered them they decide to call them breaker grass and sjrums/ the dwellings begin forging simple ivory spears made from animal tusk.

almost no rescources are spent. you manage to make a simple automated water system that uses rain to water crops. you do not use water on crops this round. harvest season has not yet come

The World Breaker assembly broke into cheers, though one dwarf turned to his neighbor and said, "Is 'turn' a valid measurement of time?" Whereupon that dwarf was mobbed and beaten to death with oversided hammers, amid cries of "Blasphemer!" and "Heretic!"

Later on, with their supplies in good condition, an expedition was mounted to determine and claim the exact peak of the mountain, so that mining operations could begin there, to both create the shaft and provide materials for construction.

(To clarify, not beginning the mining this turn, we just want to locate and claim where we want to start.)

the world breakers advance to the top, however are stopped there by a bunch of realy old ygari guys claming to be monks, they where kicked of the cliff imediatley, screaming something about how they could have tuahgt you magic or something, whatever, ygari only have 4 in intelligence, so what does it matter?

the dwarves do infact like the roch so much tht they go down the mountain and make a giant torch out of the dead ygari witches, they burn surprisingly well, it turns out ygari blood is somewhat flammable. infact one guy makes a shield out of a strange unknown ore with a torch on it. wow it would appear torches are all the rage these days

the dwellings slaughter the ygari, taking theire land and enslaving every one who lived the onslaught, one of them claims to put a curse on one of the noble men, this is scoffed at and every one laughs at the old guy for being stoopid.

the shadow clan expand north, they are greated by a large lake you decide to set up a fishing hamlet ontop of the ruins of an old dwarven fortress long forgotten. founding a large city named "karrof"

The World Breakers leadership feels the Environmentalists are getting too close. They'd like to start building fortifications against them with the materials taken from the mine. Not great forts, but just spaced out slightly elevated artillery emplacements with ditches to slow down the enemy advance. Placed along locations that where the Environmentalists would have to fight uphill to attack.

On the subject of defense, they think their two northernmost polygons are too far from the mountain to easily defend, and would like to pull those people south to that little gap in World Breaker Territory, to those two polygons that are nearly surrounded three polygons below. Then their defensive line could be straight and unbroken.

Now, if only they could set their projectiles on fire... Or just pour fire at their enemies. Now that would be something!

the dwellings manage to powder the stuff into a fine dust, and kept in ouches. they also manage to create primitive gas masks with bird like beaks containing lavender to protect them from the hallucinations

unchallenged, the enviromentalists set up camp next to the shadow clan fort of karrof. they begin tapping the water supply of karrof, the great lake.

the world breakers begin setting up defences in advance, also they may or may not also be creating a gaint torch to fire out of the mortor cannons...and also harnessing magma. they use a lot of materials however and are bumped down to 7

the dwellings begin to craft metal swords and end up with relatively simplistic rapiers, it would appear they have a knack for thrusting weapons.

Confident in the safety of their borders, the World Breakers work "hole"heartedly on their "great work" creating the shaft for their doomsday (Aka, mining).

But in secret, High Priest Prien Prips, Autarch of Ashes, orders his alchemists (well, alchemist and his apprentice) to begin working on a poison. Not too great, that it would decimate human or dwarf populations, but enough in case the Dwellers ever came too close.

the dwellings begin to perform countless rituals in attempt create a living dead, they eventualy manage to contace a strange snail like demon that managed to raise on of theire dead, he reffered to himself as barrosh the tongue less. they manage to question him some more and gain a vague warnng of an old pink dragon and an aincent proffesy, ckaiming that they must "slaughter that gay ass dragon"

The World Breakers continue digging the shaft, setting aside materials for construction of the Hammer of Hectoer.

There is now great debate within the Dwarves, what with the discovery of gunpowder (thanks for the mortars!), whether the Hammer of Hectoer should simply be gravity powered, as earlier planned, or should have explosives strapped to the back end, or just be a cannon that fires the Fang of Palgarai.

It is decided that more fire can only be the way to go, though the Hammer should retain the shape of a Hammer and not be a Cannon, as some suggested. Prien Prips defuses any fears of an inquisition or purge over being on the wrong side of this religious and architectural debate, saying those advocating pure hammer were simply loyal to the original vision, and those advocating pure cannon were simply distracted by the possibility of more fire. Which is of all sins, the most forgivable.

Summary-
Aw yis, even the demon snails are afraid of Palgarai!
