Welcome to Earth 2016: Maruk
This is an evo game where you, the anons, control the evolution of a little life form called the Maruk.
Now then, the setting.
It is the year 2016 A.D. on the planet Earth, and a small asteroid plummets towards a forest in northern Ontario, going mostly unnoticed by the world.
The asteroid impacts the surface and what was left of it creates a crater a few meters across, which fills with nutrient rich water.
Inside the meteor fragments, the long dormant Maruk awaken.
The Maruk is a multi cellular entity that feeds on sunlight through a process similar to photosynthesis and takes in the necessary nutrients by filtering them
through it's membrane, waste is removed by expelling it through the membrane.
An individual Maruk is approximately 7 mm across at full maturity, and it reproduces by packing a bunch of nutrients and such into a small growth, which
then shoots out spores that develop into new Maruk.
As always, feel free to redesign the life form, and even if your Paint skills aren't that great, don't be afraid to contribute.
Also, please reply to the post that you are evolving.
Alright, enough rambling, have fun!
Here is the humble Maruk
added simple feet for transportation

Several individuals developed in close proximity to each other and have managed to become form a link.

If it only needs sunlight to live why does it need any transportation other than sitting in the right place and in the right direction?
Unless it can move fast enough to stay in the sun forever.
Either way I've added a thin outer membrane, this gives greater surface area for more sunlight but easier to produce than the main body.

This link becomes more beneficial, as they start to share protein with each other. Communist Biology 101.

Forgot the god damn image.

Link become to stronk, there is now a center mass, the creature moves by rolling around using the outer "Limbs"

These specimens of Maruk develop thin, soft heat-sensitive appendages. Using these the Maruk can easily find where the suns rays are most concentrated, allowing them to enjoy a larger amount of energy than their counterparts.

The healthier Marus have more blood cells, changing their color.
