welcome to CIVO.
you'll be controlling 3 tribes.
will you be the ruler of the lands, or will you be crushed by the others?

rules:
>max 4 people per tribe
>max 2 actions per turn
>if population is lower than 4 your tribe dies

some explanations:
>each tribe starts of with 6 points divided over biology, geology and thermodynamics
>besides that you get an extra skill e.g: agriculture, smithing or medicines
>when doing an action that involves one of these skills you get a skill point for that skill
>ones you got 2 skill point at 2 skills you can combine
I know this might seems a little difficult but I think and hope that it wont be too complicated
also: magic, you can obtain it at random points so don't start yelling: "RESEARCH DRAGON CONJURING MAGIC"
okay I'll be posting the first summaries in just a sec so have fun and survive
and if you have any questions feel free to ask ;)

these are the dribbles, peace loving bird like humanoids.
they think that one must not hurt nature without a good reason.
and if one kills something he or she should try to use
everything from the thing he or she killed
their shamans try to be as close to the nature as possible
they use special magic to talk to animals
they live in simple wooden homes with reed roofs
around their villages they build wooden walls
around these walls they farm corn and carrots
there are around 140 dribbles at the moment
they live with around 70 people in one village

these are the demon trolls, red humans with pointy ears and small horns
they admire fire and think flames are the spirits of god
they built clay houses and use simple spears to hunt on deer
they have build their camp around an ancient pyramid
every family must send one member to the temple where they become a fire monk
they also have developed medicine with some special herbs

these are the Pertills, they look like humanoid reptiles with weird feather ears
they love fighting and their leader is also the strongest fighter
they think that a man only dies with honor if he dies in combat
they can craft simple spears and swords with the copper they occasionally find
they live in camps with tents made from leather
they live on the plains where
they hunt on deers and collect small berries
they ride and hunt on big boars
>>

Hi senpai
Do they have wings?
>>
>>242649
I'll bite, I'll take these guys.
>>
>>242652
nope, they just have feathery arms with claws
>>
>>242649
For tech, research copper shields.

For culture, the size of your grave depends on how many people you killed.
>>
>>242654
Ok i think we can evolve wings.

>>242647
I will take this birds.

>Culture: Evolve our religion:
Dribbles will praise God of Sun and Wind(or sky), his symbol will be winged sun. (he will be our main god)
Winged sun also will be a symbol associated with divinity, royalty, luck and power.
That symbol will be placed on important buildings, on gates and jewellery.

pop: 142 (after this turn I'll be implementing the pop into the summaries)

the dribbles sent a small group of scouts to the forest west of their village, about 200m deep into the forest the scouts got scared by some noises and a shadow of something, they didn't go home without a thing tho: one scout grabbed a stick a shiny pebble and a leaf as a souvenir

the dribbles started to praise the sun and the sky after they realized how important they were for their crops, their symbol is a sun with a pair of wings
>>

one of the pertills smiths accidentally dropped a huge boulder on a hot copper bar,he found out that the flat piece of metal was perfect for blocking swords and spears

they also started to give the men that killed the more, bigger graves. their leader died last month so they made a big pyramid like structure and buried him in it

>>

The tools sounds good, but can we make the second action exploring?
>>
>>242799
probably better off making rope from the vines
I think it would be a good idea in the future to continue exploring to the west, we're good at nature communication, would be good to utilise some wildlife
>>
I mean, we have a lot of culture. No to have a culture action every turn.
>>
>>242810
I was thinking that. I wasn't sure if we could explore RIGHT after exploring. Besides, we're the lowest in population, i thought it might be risky.
>>
>>242812
Let's explore. It's probably for the best.

Could we have a great skisim and some druieds become necroamcers? They could feel the world is going to be hard to a surivie with just natural magic.
So they took up necromancy to protect their Forrest and lands.

the pertills found big bamboo like plants at the river they were scouting at. they were able to cut some down with their new copper axes and brought some (with their seeds) home. some of the giant bamboos grow up to 1m in diameter.
>>
>>242859
We've got to make walls out of these.
>>
>>242861
We should make houses out of them instead, I dont think a bamboo wall would be effective.

the dribbles planted their newly acquired vine seeds, they sticked wooden sticks in the ground next to the vines so they don't grow all over the other crops,
they also found a perfect use for the sticky vines: they sticked pieces of carrot and corn to them and dropped the vines in small stream or ponds, when a fish tries to eat it they almost always get stuck in all the vines
>>
>>242861
Yeah. I just thought they were a bit thick to be for houses.

after some experimenting, the monks finally found a way to melt and figure the copper correctly. they replicated some of their flint tools with the copper and made copper axes and swords for better fighting. some of the monks became full time smiths and the believe of the demons in their gods became even greater
>>
>>242873
Add Agriculture to tech list as well as copper shit and mining and smelting.

Surely Agriculture will boost us ....
>>
>>242856
That's a really interesting idea! It's *schism, though :)
>>
>>242861
>>242864
Houses sounds good. We need proper shelter for our people. Are we going to try to domesticate the deer or do we have other plans for our second action?
>>
>>242869
What would be better? A wood house or a bamboo house? Since were able to get both using our axes.
Also we should try domesticating the deer this turn.
>>
>>242874
o right forgot that, thnx!
>>
>>242877
Yes, let's domestic the deer with the berries. We also need to figure out what the bamboo is good for. All I know is bamboo is apparently very easy to split in half.
>>
>>242877
Well we have bamboo now, do we know if we have trees we can cut down for wood in our area yet? I say we make some basic housing from bamboo and then see if we can find anything sturdier.

And domesticate deer to increase our food production.
>>
>>242885
I agree with this.
>>
>>242880
>>242885
Looks like we'll be making bamboo houses and domesticating deer this turn. Also I heard some types of bamboo are extremely sturdy so maybe we got that kind.
>>
>>242867
Action: Explore north-west

Tech: We have nets, but to catch more fishes we need go on deeper waters. Create Wooden boats for our fishermen. (we need to boost our population)
>>
>>242873
Action: Search for new ores for the ore gods
Tech: Armour
>>
okay guys it's time for me to stop for some time, I hope i can do an update or two tonight (+1 timezone) c u guys later (or at adv qst med)

In Asian cultures some houses are made of bamboo entirely. It works fine. Some modern houses even have floors of bamboo still
>>
>>242890

>>
Want to join the lizards, pertills, if there's room.

I feel like hardening our leather armour would help us survive longer, we can do this either by boiling it for a day in water, or leaving in the sun to dry out if the climate is warm enough.

I also think we should start training people to fight and hunt as a unit - Group tactics - eventually we can find out who have the best tactical minds, and have the smartest pertill be the leader, rather than the best warrior - we could give the best warrior special titles, riches and breeding rights to keep them placated however.
>>
>>242891
Tech: Bamboo houses
We're also going to breed deer.
>>
>>242896
Er, not breed, DOMESTICATE deer.
>>
Btw guys, we are the only tribe without gods. How about some form of ancestral worship later down the line?
>>
>>242889
So for a cultural action:Some druids leave the Forrest village to live in a cave, after debating for a long time about how natural magic is not enough and they need to ability to protect what is theirs, along with how in winged sun not the only God.
>The new necromancers will still be member of the Dribbles but disagree on their being a single god, thinking the darkness in the hollow earth is another source of power like the sun.
>>
>>242889

Its not like we really need one, if we want to learn magic we could just have guys start studying or ask the dribbles.

>What do our druids look like by the way?

>>
>>242913
>>242905

Idk how OP would feel about us splitting our tribe, probably best to keep us together at least for the beginning
>>
>>242904
>>242916
Maybe we could do what the other guy said but instead the leaders are considered demi gods and should they do a massive act of bravery they think they ascend to godhood? And hey, who knows we might indirectly get magic from the all the people worshipping the leaders.
>>
>>242927
Could work.
>>
>>242918
For our druids I was thinking about spells like:
-healing
-seeing weak points of enemies
And generally water magic (Remove Obstacle, Frost Ring, Ice Bolt), Air magic(Flying, Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning) and earth magic (Slowing Vines, Quicksand, Accelerated Growth, Summon Ent)
>>
>>242958
Druid basics pretty much, then.
Add animal shenanigans with that and I'm in. Who knows what animals are in this setting and what use they could have.
>>
>>242964
Any ideas for buildings and upgrades?
>>
>>242984

>>
>>242992
>>242984
But we're birdlike druids, our holy places/buildings should be sky/forest orientated, no?
>>
>>243044
Oh yeah, then why not a tall tower in the middle of our village? It goes above the tree and end in a big circle room.
>when not used for meetings it serves as a watch tower/light house.
>>
>>243065
It could a world wonder, the first of it's kind.
>Like the light house in Alexandria.
>>
Ok i will be the 4th bird. (i counted 3)
I did drawings in the previews thread for the Radishes.
>>
Religion-wise i think nature represents a balance of sorts. If we worship what is above (sun) we should worship what is below us as well (earth). The sun provides us with growth but there is also time for rest in darkness.
>>
>>243080
What about something like big stone tower with legally-approved Schools of Magic.
Approved spheres of magic will be:
Sun/Light/Fire Magic
Earth Magic
Water magic
Air Magic

Beyond being taught to control their magic, a mage learns of the various schools of magic as well as languages, reading, writing, healing, etc

http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Circle_Tower

But first we need to find stone and research writing.

I assume the more food and homes we have the faster we will breed, since we're very outnumbered already.

I like the idea of learning to boil leather to equip our guys. Maybe we should scout for some better crops too since it would be easier than milking deer that aren't completely domesticated.

>>
>>243648
We should work on better smithing and farming, and fortify our land.
We seem to have no friends in the other Civs.
>>
>>243637
>>243644
From the way the post was written I think we've been mostly nomadic up until now.

Learning to boil leather sounds like a good idea.
>>
>>243665
i like the fortify thing. but to be more efective we need range weapons.
my turn suggestion is:
build a wall arround the town
tech: bow and arrows
>>
>>243659
Sounds good, some ideas:

Set aside lands for growing berry bushes and bamboo.
Build stables for the deer and boar, preferably separate.
The ore we found recently was weaker than copper, but also lighter, we could potentially make light armour from it and leather later, shouldn't affect our movement or make us noisy.
We have a river just north of our settlement, it may be worth colonising our side of it and learning to fish.
Bamboo Bows and arrows?
>>
>>243684
fuck i forgot the trip
>>
>>243688
may i join your group
>>
>>243688
Maybe we could learn how to bow fish? Since technically its one action like making a rod then using it to fish but instead making a bamboo bow and arrows then using it to fish by attaching a string to the end so we can pull it back after shooting, along with the boiled leather to protect our guys from animals?
>>
>>243706
from what you will make this string?
>>
>>243688
I say we grow berries OR boil leather, and then explore towards the water.

If you guys want to do both I'm up for it though. But I think we should come to a decision soon.

We should set up a second camp bordering both the river and the bamboo forest, and for our second action learn to fish with our spears
>>
>>245680
I was planning on getting more food, from fishing this turn then constructing stables for our deer and boar, but i'm just assuming this will help us multiply faster.

We might just forget about building a second camp for now and scout, our fisherman can make the trek to the river and back every day.
>>
>>245671
OP what determines how quickly our races numbers increase? or are we just stuck with +2 each turn?
>>
>>245681
>>245682
It's not a bad idea, but if we really want to multiply faster we could change our culture to promote growth. Something like "Women cannot fight or hunt before they have had their firstborn." or perhaps something along the lines of "The Mother with the most children are given a position of power."
>>
>>245685
just a suggestion: since the guy with the most kills get the biggest grave, the woman with the most children also gets a bigger grave
>>

Culture: The woman with the most children is given a position of power second only to the greatest warrior, and a small tomb.

>>

Designate some Pertills as farmers, and have them work on tending our bulb reeds and berry bushes
Extract plant fibers from the bulb reeds - long strong reeds would make a perfect alternative to rope or even string - we can make bows and arrows.
Sugar from the bulbs can also be used as a preserver for foods during cold winters or hot summers to stop them rotting.

the dribbles started to use lake lions for faster fishing, at least, that is what they hoped it would do, the nets don't work better if the boats go faster and the lake lions get tired rather fast...
they also made simple rope from the sticky vines, it is much stronger but kinda thick..

the pertills brought some bulb reed seeds with them back home and planted them around their settlements, the people are really enjoying the bulbs and even made simple flutes with only one tone out of them, they also made sharp pickaxes to cut stone better

the demon trolls decided to scout south of their souther settlement, one demon troll thought it was an actual good idea to swim in the massive river south of moa cai-lin, he slipped on a wet rock and fell into the river, but strangely enough he survived and when he got rescued he was holding a weird blue crystal, the monks researched it and one of them activated it and got the ability to make a big water bubble around him, they haven't found a good purpose for it tho.
they also started to cut big rocks into more cubical forms
>>
Well with that neat Find I propose this
1. Improve our wall and buuldings with this cut stone
2. Use that bubble spell to explore beneath the Lake.
3. Use that cured Leather to make bowstrings and bows.
>>
>>246851
It's funny that demon fire trolls find water magic
>>
I'm thinking we scout out the western shore of the lake for one action, then we'll know whats around our main camp on every side.

Also extract plant fibers from the reeds to make string/rope. We can use this to make boats or bows later.

Or get to mining one of the hilly areas for stone and potentially ore.
>>
>>246901
I think we should go mining, but getting rope is definitely a great idea.
>>
>>246820
Tech: Create bows and arrows

Scout: travel along the coast of the lake in the search of a material stronger than stone. (since we can't mine due to lack of pickaxe)
>>
>>246898
we can go straight to the bow with crystal arrowhead.
also i like the option 2
>>
>>246901
I say we make the strings to make bamboo bows, then mine in the hill, then scout next turn.
>>
>>246891
Sorry I thought we were allowed 3 actions. in that case
Tech: improve our walls and houses with the cut stone
Tech: Develop Bows and arrows with the ores we found and cured leather we have.
>>
>>246906
we should make some kind of strong rope because we can use it for tons of structures and like feather ear said, boats.is he part of our team tho? Isnt he with eagles

metals arent really necissary yet unless were going to fight, and our borders arent close yet.

so i would suggest
>crazy farming improvements to increase population
>look for better ways to make structures
>more settlements.
>>

OP how can we increase our population?
Or is it a fixed increase rate
>>
>>246924

Hey OP since we are demon trolls and we have a Fire temple on our town, is it possible to get fire magic?

a flash of light followed by a deafening blow and loud laughter. the 3 demi-god triplets gruh, grah and greh landed each near a different capital.
the massive orc like beings slowly walked over to the capitals they landed near, they commanded the people to organize a giant party for them, "and if I like it" they said "I'll reward you greatly"

Holy shit. Okay okay here is what we can do. Let's go get our sea lion friends to try and do some of those sea world tricks and feed them fish. Let's cook the biggest tastiest fish for the orcs. Let's paint ourselves and houses real festive with our dyes. Let's make some piñatas using our clay to make an animal shape and then cover that up with reed fibers to make it like paper mache. Then paint the piñata and fill it with our tasty colorful fruits.
>>
How About
Action: We hunt a few ducks and cook them up with our veg
The fire monks dance and sing
Then we Show Grah or Greh or Gruh our bubble magics and its a bubble show
make Medicinal herb joints
and we offer drugs and we get high...

Tech: Drums. We have a drumming competition
>>
>>247196
We will also sing our bird songs cause birds are excellent singers. Also we bust out the revered chicken dance around the bonfire we set up. Get our best Druids that does the light spell to TRY and make sparks so it looks a bit like fireworks. Maybe we can make a light show for them in mass.
>>
>>247211
Yes I agree to this,
offer modicinal plants to gre. Also lets make a gigantic bonfire to show off our fire skills. Maybe we can have our fire monks do tricks like dancing on the hot coals and lighting themselves on fire.
Research drums and have a drum party around the bonfire. Serve up giant duck egg and meat for food. Maybe give him some of our metals and ores as a gift.

>>
Okay so
Action: Hunt a duck or two and get an egg or two
Tech: Drums

The fire monks sing and dance and do fire monk stuff like coal walking and lighting themselves on fire.
Then we have a bubble show. This showcases our magic and its freaking awesome.
Then we eat the roast duck with veg and egg.
Then we make medicinal herb joints and smoke them first then if its safe offer the orc
Then we play drums and its an awesome party.
Then we have bouts with wooden weapons in a arena thing

Maybe make another two turns just so when you aren't here we can move on
>>
>>251417
How about..
Action: Build our improved stone walls around our towns. They high and like castle walls
Tech: Boats from using our nice architecture
>>
>>251531
Yeah we can use the boats to explore more
>>
>>251327
Action: Scout South east of our main city
Tech: Boats from using our nice architecture
>>
>>251646
We should make Duck cavalry that would be amazing
>>
>>251655
Military needs can wait
Right now we need to take control of the lake
>>
>>251670
>>251655
I like the wall but we should improve our culture, I have a plan
writing ->sacred book -> missionaries
>>
>>251718
I was thinking about getting the reeds on our river
>>
>>251749
>reeds
do you need boat for that?
>>
>>251778
Nah papyrus for writing
>>
>>251517
I will before sleep or any time I know I'll be away.
I expected more birds to be here. We are supposed to be four. -_-
>>
>>251809
i think use the clay but papyrus is better
the action will be search for papyrus
>>
>>251346
> you can never use your light magic
wew that sucks...

Action: Sell spell "Change color of light bulb or fire" for "the power to summon small fires in your hands" spell.

Tech: Create bows and arrows.
>>
>>251833
next turn
>>
>>251847
>>251276
>>
>>251847
um with light magic I meant all of your light magic..
>>
>>251847
I figured fire gives off light so it's an upgrade since fire does damage. The problem is that this spell is tied to a rune which I don't like. I'm actually second guessing this trade because I want the magic to come from us and not rely on runes.
>>
Encounter Trade: Demand a fire spell not bound to a rune or no trade.

Tech: Make bows and Arrows
>>
>>251872
>>251879

So nope, that deal sucks.

File: pertill.png (104KB, 1024x768px)
pertill.png
104KB, 1024x768px
after they found out the giant bamboo plants could float rather easy, the pertills started do make simple rafts out of them to cross small ponds, they also discovered a very simple bow, but because of the bamboo not being the best type of wood for this and their ropes being too simple and thick, they didn't really have much power nor accuracy
>>
File: dribble.png (103KB, 1024x768px)
dribble.png
103KB, 1024x768px
the dribbles tried to recreate the boat of the old dirbble lady, but they didn't remember it that well and made a much smaller variant, they also scouted to the north but the scouters found a pack of hungry wolf like creatures, the wolves killed 3 of their scouters before the dribbles could get to safety
>>
>>254049
Ooh fuck thats near us
>>
File: demon troll.png (80KB, 1024x768px)
demon troll.png
80KB, 1024x768px
the demon made simple rafts out of wood and leather to cross small bodies of water
they also scouted south of their capital and found weird uneatable pumpkin like fruits, after bringing them home, the women started to wear them, first for fun, later for realz
>>
>>254053
Happy halloween
>>
>>254053
Tech: Nice Boats
Action: Settle the island in the middle with 30 people
>>
>>254043
Tech: Larger boats
Action: Send warriors to scout the central island
>>
>>254066
That sounds good for this turn.

We should improve our bows later though. The wood material for the bow we might want to find something new for, but the bowstrings we could easily just replace with deer sinew.
>>
Action: I also want to scout this island in the lake so I will use my superior boats to get there quickest and search the land for artifacts.
>>
>>254056
Think Triremes
also with our settlers are armed
>>
>>254170
>superior boats

Also whats your other action
>>
>>254171
You can't expect to jump from wooden rafts to galleys in one turn, that's powergaming. Unless you mean something the size of a canoe like the dribbles ships?
>>
>>254211
I said think triremes
Also we have the most advanced woodworking :D
>>
>>254049
OP can you post map?

Tech: Writing
One of the cornerstones of civilization, Writing is the ability to transfer information to durable materials (stone, clay, paper), and thus preserve it for the generations.

Tech: Archery
(Create bows and arrows. And create the first ranged unit in the game.)
>>
>>254225
where did you get that from, not an attack I actually don't know where I said that..
>>
>>254366
Well just give us nice boats that can make it to the island. Maybe early longboats without sail
>>
>>254366
it could be we don't have that but we have ultra light metal, we use the copper/crystal alloy to improve our boats also some bubble runes
>>
>>254225
You're imagining things, nowhere has it ever been mentioned that you have better woodworking skills than anyone else.
>>
I'm pretty sure we are making wooden boats but nobody has giant ass triememe.

island in the middle

i just ran home after supper at a nearby restaurant...
>>
>>254488
oh, no I meant which 2 actions for the dribbles
>>
>>254489
>>254170
I guess they explore the island as well as making boats which are able to sail there
>>
File: pertill.png (102KB, 1024x768px)
pertill.png
102KB, 1024x768px
the pertills made simple canoes from big pieces of bamboo, they also sent around 20 men to look what is in at the other site of the lake, but without any peddles or something, or knowledge of the lake, 7 people died just in the first hour, so they decided to head back to land
>>
File: demon troll.png (81KB, 1024x768px)
demon troll.png
81KB, 1024x768px
the demon trolls upgraded their rafts with canoes and decided to look what is beyond the horizon of the great lake, but they didn't know anything about how water works, how to move in it and stuff, so 10 people died, the rest were able to make it back to the shore
>>
File: dribble.png (104KB, 1024x768px)
dribble.png
104KB, 1024x768px
the dribbles, knowing much more about how to sail, went to middle island with ease, they heard of it form the lake lions and they helped them by pulling forward the 3 boats they brought, with a total of 26 warriors and 2 shamans they landed on the beach of the isle, they don't know why but the shamans have a strange feeling about this place
>>
>>254524
Action: Drown the rest of the population
Culture: Defeatism
>>
>>254524
Surely since we all know bubble magic
No one would drown
Its like having a lifejacket and not putting it on

We may be trolls but we aint retards

Also Our land has a real close point to the islands. The gap between the mainland and the closest island is the same as the river
>>
>>254530
Action: Create base/small village with port in the coast of island.

Tech: Writing.
One of the cornerstones of civilization, Writing is the ability to transfer information to durable materials (stone, clay, paper), and thus preserve it for the generations.
>>
>>254539
okay
not every orc knows that and try to stay alive in full copper gear underwater even if you have a bubble around you, and you don't know about that piece of land anyways, pls just try to cross 30 km of water with a canoe, learn from your mistakes and try again sometime later
>>
>>254539

tech: improving woodworking using our metal tools and nails
tech: arrow and bows. the arrowhead is made of crystal
>>
should I make a new thread?
>>
>>254624
yeah
>>
>>254624
Make one for the next update.
>>
>>254597
This is a good turn
>>
>>254522
Unless any of my fellow lizard bros are around, this is our turn.

Explore: Search around our lands for other types of wood.
Tech: Improve seamanship so we won't lose more people to the great lake
>>
>>254667
How about
Tech: Make better bows from Deer sinew and bones
Action: Improve Seamanship
>>
>>254624
Hold on senpai, how did our rafts suddenly become canoes?
Compare this with >>254043 this >>254522

>>254684
I don't think bones will make good bows, I'm all for making them with sinew, but we should get better wood too so we won't have to upgrade the bows twice.
>>
>>254687 new bread
>>
>>254690
>>254695
nwm senpai, forgot we upgraded our rafts
