Story: When the demons came, nothing could stop them. They overran your city, killing thousands of innocents. You were one of the few lucky ones who escaped by hiding on your boat and sailing out of the city. You sailed until you couldn’t sail anymore. Now you don’t know where you are, but you know for damn sure that you’re going to make those bastards pay. But first, you must rebuild.

Rules: Welcome to Building a Kingdom! In this quest, you will build your mighty empire, explore, quest, and avenge those who have fallen to the demons! Here are some things you should know:
> Every 10 Population Point (PP) = -1 food per turn
> You must vote on what actions to take
> Max 3 actions per turn
> Every tile requires at least 2 PP for it to be worked
> Assigning PP to work tiles is a free action
> Tiles give resources based off of what they are and what improvements they have
> You can purchase PP with food (1 Food=1PP)
> It takes 3 turns for PP to mature into usefulness
> Quests can be completed, dungeons can be cleared out, and caves can be explored all for fat loot.
> Can train PP into Combat Units that can clear out dungeons and are far more effective at combat
> Combat Units take 2 turn to mature and cannot be used to work tiles.

I agree with you, it would be great if we could get their help, they could be invaluable in our survival and future expansion.

However I just think 'their opinion on what we should do' wouldn't be good. If I was in their position (knowing as little as we currently do) I would most likely want:
1. The demons to the north killed
2. Us to get off their land
their opinion on what we should do would most likely be "send all your people into the dungeon" that way one problem is gone the other is weak.

If we tell them too much about ourselves we will be at a disadvantage in trade as well, (a thirsty person will pay double the price for water, a person dying of thirst will give you everything they have)

By coming back with a gift of food their first impression of us will hopefully be "I want to help the people who give us food for no reason" rather than "I don't want more people on our land taking our resources".
Tell them why 'they want to help you' not why 'you want help'.
