Your eyes flutter open. A gentle breeze catches you off guard and you feel the soft grass at your fingers.

Pain overwhelms you for a brief moment as you sit up. Clutching your head.

Although it seems to quickly fade, a lingering aftertaste of cinnamon and the feeling of fresh bandages betray something to you. You seem to have been saved from an untimely doom.

You look around. Nothing but nature on all sides, and a small carved stone shrine behind you. A small candle seems to have been recently placed there, and a plate of food has been set upon a small wooden box to your side. To your other side you see what remains of your effects and personal items.

Come to think of it, yeah. It is kind of weird. It feels real, like, you are touching it, but you are not too sure what it means however. After all your identification skill with leaves is not the highest in the land.

The sudden pang of hunger strikes and you quickly devour much of the food and tea that was thoughtfully left for you.

Trying to occupy yourself during your meal, you take note of the small pile of items left by your side and what was within the small wooden box.

Not impressive at all you think to yourself.

You seem to be able to stand and function well, with only the faintest arguments from your body as you test it out. Whatever it was that was used on you, it feels like it did the trick.

You fit into the clothes to cover your modesty.
As you stand up for a proper look around you notice the path past the torii leads in two different directions.

You vaguely remember the names. Though much else is hazy. What do you do?

It is still early morning when you make your your way down the path to Kasai, your head abuzz with strange thoughts pondering this weird new system.

Several hours pass without much issue besides your feet getting tired. You decide to try and count what you see pass you on the road, though nothing does. It begins to near late evening when your belly begins to rumble.

Still can't seem to get over that new 'hunger' thing that seems to be happening, though not much to do about it now. You have no cooking skills and already ate all the food at the shrine.

Someone needs you! The words seem to leap at you from the road ahead, though what seems more promising is the likely idea that a more well prepared traveller will have food to spare their hero.

Though a well timed roar seem to betray some level of trouble up ahead and not just a broken axel.

You do both. The scene in front of you is horrifying. A wagon lay tipped over beyond what remains of another one, however what seems more disheartening is the enormous cyclops that seems to be searching them! You know from statblocks and previous experience that your puny broken weapon could likely slay a goblin or a kobold if they did not see you coming, but a nearly uninjured cyclops? There has to be another way! You think to yourself.

You see the remains of horses that have been dragged into the shrubbery. The figure that had been calling for help seems to have dodged behind a stone for cover. The only thing you were able to make out at first glance is that they seem quite sorcerous.

You quickly backtrack to gain some speed before surging forth! Your mind flashes with different moves and abilities that you can use to give you any sort of chance of victory, but with your current equipment, that thought grows slimmer and slimmer. Suddenly you settle on something.

You find yourself picking up a stone and lobbing it as far as you can down the road! You think of different horrible ways a cyclops could put an end to your puny self.

When you lob the stone you see some sort of glow come forth from behind the stone as it follows the rock you threw. You then hear a sound like glass shattering as the rock lands further down the path than you expected to be able to throw.
You think to yourself.

>>Magic? This sorcerous individual should be plenty capable to defeat a cyclops.

Suddenly, your thoughts are interrupted by the sight of the cyclops standing up slowly. He stands there for a moment without making a move or a sound.

Its all over.

Or not? The cyclops walks off in the direction of the stone. Not even casting a wayward glance back at you or the magic user behind the stone. You whisper.
"Shh! It's gone for a moment, please. Come out and let us retreat."

You only hear a tired and distressed gasp from behind the stone as thin fingers grip it for support. You see a crystal orb-topped staff fall to the ground. It seems like they are in another predicament.
