You ask Sae: "So... whatcha do to wind up in here?" And she says that up until about a month ago she was a big-shot MAFIA BOSS. Well, maybe not the Boss YET, but she was pretty high up on the ladder. She oversaw a ton of mafia business, like illegal gun sales and drug ring stuff, and made heaps of cash doing it. She was sitting pretty for a while, until their base was raided. Apparently some nark ratted them out, and she was one of the first the po-po put in the slammer. Now she's waiting for the day to get outa here and fuck up the bastard who ruined her bizz.

Sae seems to know a lot about what goes on here in the prison! Guards come down her hallway every 2 HOURS, though security cameras run 24/7 on each end of the hall. She's brought breakfast each morning, and in the evening she goes down to the MESS HALL to eat dinner. She can request to be brought outside to stretch, as well, though this is limited to 3 TIMES A WEEK.

So here I am sitting around wondering what is wrong with my quest. I put a lot of work into the art and tried to made my world interesting and deep enough that so neat stuff can happen and players are given freedom and possibilities with minimal effort. I try to be sure my writing is short enough to hold attention while full of enough stuff to leave you wanting more.

Yet they fail and no one gives a fuck. So what's on the first page kicking my story down? Another fucking jail escape with minimal art.

It's good you're looking at other popular threads to see why they're popular, but it benefits no one popping into one of those threads to tear down the QM or the people enjoying the quest. Not all quests are equally popular, and you can't get mad at others because your work isn't getting the recognition you had hoped for. I won't go into it too much, but Liliss's species came to colonize the planet she lives on about a thousand years ago. Instead of making war with the original species on the planet (the Avians and Reptilians and all that) they just decided to coexist. The aliens brought sick technology to the planet, while the natives had rad natural resources. They helped each other, with only a little fighting.
