Feeling an ever growing hunger and emptiness in your belly, you decide on trying to find some form of subsistence.

You only had a few gulps in your canteen, but those familiar two-headed lizards were common even this far into the wasteland. You remember seeing them burrow underground to avoid you, a predator.

So you exit the rusty backdoor of the truck, shovel in hand, and set out with your limited amount of water in search of some grub.

After a while, your ear pick up a skirting sound; something is stirring near you.

It is a desert fox.

It had been so long since you'd seen something so gorgeous, but it bears a collar that reads "If lost, please return to ___"

Do you:

2. Try to find its owner, he/she must be around somewhere

"Hey there, little guy. I'm not gonna hurt ya..."

You cautiously reach out a hand to try and befriend the wild animal, which seemingly has been tamed by its owner. You can't make out the scratched name on its tags, but you know it must not have wandered far from some kind of settlement.

Pulling out your binoculars, you scan the horizon, and see the world end. Not quite, but the terrain suddenly sloped down into what seemed like nothing.

Not sure what might be beyond what might as well be the broken end of the Earth, you leave the truck behind (for now) and walk the few miles with your temporary companion.

Upon reaching the end, you now realize what it is you stand on.

The bank of a large body of water, possibly an ocean.

The sunken pit held a number of seemingly friendly wastelanders, so you go down to visit.

A shot suddenly whizzes by you. Not in violence, but in warning, because while it was close enough, a voice then called out.

"That's close enough, stranger! We'll have no hoodlums in these villages! State you name and business!"
