Need Plains non-war turn, otherwise, gonna post everyone else's turn 17.

Sky nation opens many institutions in Winter's Refuge, among which are the headquarters of the newly established Bounty Hunter's guild, a bank that can transfer between flint currency and chunks of gold, and a Trader's guild independent of the Sky Nation. Since the sky nation doesn't have a form of currency, these buildings are very slowly run and accept all matter of acceptable barter material, such as people's valuable weapons, livestock, clothing, and food.

Lake Nation gifts raft technology to the sky nation, and goes to work constructing large walls around Megara and Arcadia out of wood, since thats all the material they can build it out of. Bears are also allowed as citizens in the nation, doing manual labor and allowed in the armed forces, although they are not very good at holding weapons. More farmland is also built.

Island nation builds a colony across the river bordering Arcanum. A wall is erected around Aquila, and farms are raised in Alesia.
>>
>>181145
farmland wasn't their turn, dammit, they domesticate elk as ridable things
>>
Awesome thread is back
>>
>>181127
So, we need to mine more shit
Action: Build quarries and harvest stone/limestone from the mines
Action: Reinforce said walls with stone, making it so that it can't catch on fire
Tech: Printing, with consecutive stamping machines we can make books at a much faster rate, also increasing our literacy
>>
>>181170
I don't recall you guys having mines, but if not, you can always roll to scout if theres any near your colonies!
>>
>>181174
If we didn't have any mines then how were we able to get iron and then steel?
>>
>>181177
You have the tech, not the resources.
>>
>>181137
Tech: Steel Cuirasses
Tech: Loom
Tech : Spider Silk armor With all of the bulletproof and shrapnel proof goodness !
>>
>>181187
>spider silk armor
That's downright impossible
>>
Rolled 17 (1d100)

>>181181
Ok then
Action: Find Iron and a good location for a quarry
Action: After finding all of that, reinforce the walls and turn them into stone walls
Tech: printing
>>
>>181189
Op gave us the silk, so weaving it shouldn't be impossible
>>
>>181192
Oh fuck me...
Just reinforce it with mud then

>>181193
Wouldn't you need a loom for that, nevermind the fact that really thin spider silk is really fragile and a full armor is going to be really hard and really expensive to make
>>
>>181194
We are researching the loom this turn and when op introduced it to us he said that we could use it so he kinda fucked up but still going to try to take advantage of it
>>
>>181199
Ok then
I can't object to OP's fuckups
>>
Alright.. Wheres dumb and dumber... Then we can start
>>
So op must i post war turn?

>>
>>184381
op do we have the last sheet? All other tribes have but us.

Also sorry for not showing up on time
>>
Last thread said we was at 16 so this is 17:

Action: bring bandits and together at our settlment closesed to the east.
Action: have scouts and war planners bring everyone up to speed, the scouts telling us about the land around, the enemies, etc
Culture: stop burning land for chief when dead(honestly i think this trait went away when we become sedentary but if we havent then get rid of it now)

If the scouts DONT know the territory, even though they are nomads, then spend one action on searching the territory for the year, and THEN at the end of the year/turn have meeting to increase soldier morale/inform EVERYONE on what plan is. I have plan from last thread too if any plains read this later
>>
Yo islanders. Make fucking spears or halberds or pikes. They are good against cavalry and were mainly used for the protection of infantry against horse back.
>>
>>184874
Why have dragoon toothed and normal
>>
>>185109
Triarii carry the long spears

Each legionaries Equipment
-Steel sword
-Steel Helmet
-Ironbark plate
-Scutum (steel lined shield)
-2 pila (atlatls)
-Triarii carry Spears as well.

Triarii are the veterans normally
>>
>>185158
If we being real
They also carry daggers and Wood cutting axes and Spades
>>
>>184417
do this.
>>
>>185158

>>

>>185691
i guess we could
but since op let us build it, it is kinda unfair to let it be a useless building.
so i suggest that plains can produce higher quality and faster. then nations without the buildings
>>
>>185699
No, just build more
Higher quality can only be produced with better kilns and a higher understanding in chemistry
>>
>>185699
your primitive way of forging causes the products to be less pure and consistent
also a dedicated forge allows faster smelting

Plains Nation gathers their strength for war. The time allowed to gather everyone also allows Island nation to gather their strength after scouts report some hostilities at the borders. They also learn to develop steel weapons in their forge and are able to use some in their upcoming battle.

At Dafuq Owtovit, the easternmost city, the armies gathered numbers:
50 bandits
50 horse archers (w/ backup knives)
50 horse spearmen (w/ backup sword)
50 infantry swordsmen
(feel free to rearrange the troops how you see fit)

You guys have swords, spears, and arrows with steel tips. Islanders have steel swords as far as I know, they never specified their steel in other weapons.

Islanders steel production occurs in Winterfell, and due to structured military outside of the civilian life every legionary has one steel gladius. Their armor is iron from the ironbark tree.

Their armor is grown from the Ironbark trees, which is a unique resource on their island.

Yeah, everyone on your side and all the legions have forged weapons. Island monks and bowmen do not.
>>

>>
>>185923
AYOOO HOL UP

How can they have steel everything when we islanders have to spend a turn to make steel swords and helmets. Surely all our shit would be steel then.

Just something to think about
>>
>>185939
Gimme Spirit Link or I'll call up Mugabe's boys and tell him that a Rhodesian got loose

>>
>>185939
>>185946
>>
>>185946
>>185939
True, Island spent tech turns producing armor and weapons, but not action turns mass producing it. So Plains has multiple weapons that citizens can equip in war.

But the structure of Island military demands all career soldiers to have weapons.
>>

>I'll go be a refugee in germany

___:^)____
>>
>>186006
horses should gave a way better buff then primitive grenades

also copy pasta from last thread

Action: Give bandits looting rights and pay them gold to help us in takeover Aquilla and Arcanum cities.

Action: Attack and Arcanum and Aquila cities. Mobilise more army (mostly horse archers) attack and burn islander farms and mines to destroy their food and ore supplies. Conquer this two cities. Use horse archers to harass legion army. Use our new tactic.
Use swarm and fire magic.

New tactic: Cantabrian circle
A group of horse archers or mounted javelin throwers would form a single-file rotating circle. As the archers came around to face the enemy formation they would let their missile fly. The effect was a continual stream of arrows or javelins onto an enemy formation.
The tactic was usually employed against infantry and bowmen. The constant movement of the horsemen gave them an advantage against the less mobile infantry and made them harder to target by the enemy's missile troops. The maneuver was designed to harass and taunt the enemy forces, disrupt close formations and often draw part, or all, of the enemy forces into a disorganized or premature charge. This was commonly used against enemy infantry, especially heavily armed and armored slow moving forces such as the legions of the late Roman Republic and early Roman Empire.

>>186033
swarm harassment. they will need the other city's to build additional farms. and the arrows we can mass produce.
horse archers will just run around circles of their troops
>>
>>186046
>run around circles in a walled city
>giving away your strategy so easily
>not realising that Rome by itself can feed the walled cities with boats
>not realising you'll have to give up troops in order to get more arrows
>not realising that bandits are pillagers and not siegers meaning they will probably give up on the moment they realise the siege has failed and there's no payout
You REALLY haven't thought this through
>>
>>186033
Alright, a siege will be different then. The war will only be fought if the walled citizens choose to fight them outside. Otherwise, every turn the population count will lower by 5. You will also need to set up logistics to feed your own, but being the beseigers in your own land and having horses, it shouldn't be too hard for you so I'll ignore it for now.

>>186003
Do you choose to meet them in battle? In each town you have:
> Aquila: 50
> Arcanum: 25
The remaining legions are within walking distance outside Aquila.
>>
no they will run out and fight us

swarm will fuck their supplys up, as a form of city bombardment. as far as i remember after eating dat meat it became genetic

30 horse archers 30 lancers and 70 land (35 bandit 35 normal) troops to aquila

make ulan bator set up some supply tents and sheeit for our troops

rest is going to arcanum
>>
>>186077
You need to factor in the fact that even if the cities are blockaded by land, their port is perfectly open and not blockaded, meaning they can get supplies from other towns and thus, not starved
>>
>>186008
>implying Im a kaffir

Niggers here don't go on 4chan they too busy in prison or dying of aids
>>
maybe before continuing we should set up a system of how this is going to work.
how long is a war turn compared to a regular turn.
do tactics give bonuses
how powerful is our swarm magic
>>
>>186077
No. The legionaries and bowmen man the walls.
The shields of the legionaries will give extra cover to bowmen.
Which town is they attack?
>>
>>186099
we are blockading both towns.

arcanum has no water acces
aquila has a lake port i guess

and we are using our swarms to fuck up food supply
>>
>>186096

In the past, it was a roll system, and I reward good tactics.

You roll for success after telling what you want to do with which troops, and the enemy does the same. I then explain the outcome. The war will end when either one team forfeits or until the very end. Each turn will have losses according to how devastating the attack is.
>>
They attacking two towns in one turn.. so they split their army?

Well then I have to wait this turn out until i can move my 1st and 2nd legions?
>>
>>186113
So this turn you can move your legions to fight in the next turn, and use your walled people to fight this turn.
>>
>>186112
i mean
while we are blockading. can we continue to do regular stuff until they decide to meet us in battle?
>>
>>186118
their other citys are fucking far away, and they need to travel the sea.
should take more then a turn to let them catch up

>>
>>186176
Oh well. We were only growing at 3 in aquila.
Which is shit.

Must i roll now?
>>
Rolled 9, 10, 2 = 21 (3d10)

My archers launch arrows at the horsefags
The legionaries hold shields over their heads while the walls give 3/4 cover. We rain arrows on their Horse archers mainly
>>
Gimme that sweet sweet horse archer blood
>>
>>186342
Aim their horses, they only have specialized cavalry, they can't fend off against your superior heavy infantry
>>
>>186345
Thats what Im doing. Our infantry will smash right through them
>>
Plains:
> Attack: (10) + (2 x 30) = 70
> Defense: (30 x 1.5) = 45
> Total Numbers: 130
Island:
> Attack: (21) + (20) = 41
> Defense: 50 + (2.5x20) = 100
> Total Numbers: 50

The defense does not budge on either side. The destruction of crops and starvation among the troops raises concerns in the camp, and a starvation modifier lowers morale and strength in the legions, adding a -10 defense for every turn starved for the walled legions!

Also, if the other neutral nations want to step in and tip the advantage one way of another, feel free.

Rolled 3, 1, 7 = 11 (3d10)

>>186462
The 1st Legion sails down the river by Aquila. They land out of sight of the town. We crawl into the forests. Its green land so i assume theres trees everywhere. We laugh arrows at the horses. The legions sit in the front shrubbery and the arrow men behind. The monks put ruins on the trees to the flanks. We keep the catapults on board the ships. The hastarii put up spears. They can't see our numbers.

First legion is made up of Rome, Pompeii, Alesia.

The second Legion boards cannon ships and heads for Dafuq Ovoit ( fucking weird name)

The trees are key OP. they is rough terrain

Plains Horsemen:
> Attack: (12) + (2 x 30 archers) = 72
> Defense: (30 x 1.5) = 45
> Total: 130

Island 1st Legion:
> Attack: Attack: (11) + (33 archers x 2) + (5 stealth bonus) = 82
> Defense: (33 x 2) = 66

Aquila:
> Defense: (20 x 2.5) + 50 - 10 = 90

The damage is incredible. The horse archers are entirely surprised by the volley of arrows in the forest, and scores of horse archers die! 20 archers, specifically. But now, the lancers and infantrymen are alarmed, and the defensive bonus of the walled citizens are still getting lower.

Plains at Aquila: 10 horse archers, 30 lancers, 70 infantrymen
Island at Aquila: 50
1st Legion: 135

maybe use our wildfire to start a fuckhuge fire to cover our retreat and fuck up the area. creating a flat place

if not better idea comes from dreamer

DONT USE INSTANTLY. let him have a chance to refine

evacuate ulan bator. use our wildfire to start a huge fire on the entire way back to the plains. the fire caused by this should be big enough to make sure it cant be put out by simply pouring buckets of water. maybe have a few brave horsemen ride around their defensive positions in a yuge ark to start fires around the city, so the city will 100% be in hell on earth

>>186976
Only go for arcaeum, the plains is an advantage. We stay far enough from city to seize it. Two years with no supplies is more than long enough to starve them without freezing tech. Let's also burn the fields around and keep it in a blaze so that other troops can't help. If the Legion comes by start to retreat and use the arrows while running technique. Range is one of our advantages. We also know the terrain of the plains. When the Legion gets deep into the plains we gallop full speed into them in a circle and destroy them from the back, the phalanx doesn't work when attacked from all sides. Arrows/spears may get a few, but the overwhelming suprise will stop them.

Plains Firemen:
> Attack: (22) + (2 x 10 x 3 fire bonus) = 82
> Defense: (10 x 1.5) = 15
> Total: 10

Island 1st Legion:
> Attack: Attack: (12) + (33 archers x 2) = 78
> Defense: (33 x 2) = 66

Shit is getting real.

The chief orders all the plains horsemen save 10 brave volunteers to move onto the town of Arcanum to join there camped force there. The ten stay behind to get slaughtered by the oncoming assault of arrows from the forested legions, but not before circling around the city and forest and putting everything ablaze. The legions, meanwhile, suffer tragic losses, many rushing to the river, but still many being cooked in their own metal armor. The fire burns at the wooden foundation of the walls as well, and some spread to the already barren croplands and houses. The fire encircles the legions and the city, but it grows weaker at the river and if they lay some path to get across, perhaps they can save the citizens and the soldiers. Every turn will cause -5 to Aqula's population (including the wallmen) and - 2 to the 1st legion until everyone escapes the fire across the river. There may be some defensive runes that islanders can quickly draw to prevent fire's spread...

Current numbers:

Plains total: 170
Aquila: 57 (-5 per turn)
Island 1st Legion: 115 (-2 per turn)
Island Legions outside Aquila Theatre: 65
>>
>>187159

we have a range advantage, OP you remember my post comparing ranges that our armies could go? They DONT HAVE ENOUGH POWER to hit us with arrows.

Now they do have SHIELDS, so that stops them, but fire burns them in their armor.

So logically in this range we SHOULDNT have taken damage if we retreated that far away. The fire will also prevent the romans from crossing by the time we siege the city. When we do, we can destroy them by flanking them on all sides when they're deep out of their forests. Calvary has a big advantage this way.

>>187249
they're islanders, not lakes. Also dont be a dick like Mouse.

"shall we quell the assult?"

You turned your back on us so quick. And now you're trying to manipulate a tribe that is peacefull into fighting US. The sky tribe and the plains have had alliances for a long time. OP even put in a culture thing.

Btw lets leave the northern cities by the water. Thats not really our turf anyway. Plus its too close to the water, if we keep dividing our resources were gonna lose.

. So do you want us to come over there and defend the cities you want? It wasnt specefic on where our soldiers were so i was clarifying with op that all of our soldiers should be going to the ONE city.

Also op please come up with forces for ships, it cant be infitite. Do they have cannon boats? Or just boats, that have cannons on it? Because boats that were recently created wouldn't be able to carry the heavy loads that cannons need to fire?

Another reason why a map of where soldiers are would be useful. Khan is talking about a different city further west(which actually has a river) and Legate is talking about the one directly on the water.

When you gathered all forces, that included forces from Dafuq. No forces are in Dafuq at the moment.

There were 40 in the second legion heading for Dafuq. Only two cannons were built by the Islanders to be on boats, both on two boats. To summarize:

> Two boats with cannons
> Four boats with 10 man capacity
> 40 soldiers: 20 archers and 20 legionaries.

>>186511
Using this, which was two turns ago. Given the distance to Dafuq, I'd say the fleet needs one more turn to arrive, so the next best thing the Islanders can do is defend Arcanum and evacuate Aquila. Plains cannot stop the assault on Dafuq, that would be meta.

>action: use swarm insects to transfer our special necromancer's curse(disease) to infect romans.

>action: use horse scouts to set fire ENCIRCLING roman troops [then hide inside the flames while getting closer to the troops we do this fast so that they cant set up runes]
>action: bandits rush the city from the inside with guns. With the roman infantry inside the city walls, they cant effectively use a phalanx or throw spears/fire arrows with great accuracy. The bandits will suffer MASSIVE causulties, but with guns, horses, and steel, they can win.

Additionally the people of the cities have never seen horses. Think about city riots... Why do they use horses in the city? the answer is when horses are in front of you neighing and screaming and you've never seen one before(inner city people are ignorant of this, they may have seen horses, but never one in a frenzy) you PANIC. This was how pizzaro beat the incans. Thousands of soldiers versus a few hundred. There were MANY other factors, but our numbers are closer together, and this is in a city, not land. Also guns vs these kind of weapons GUNS WIN.

Here is sky's turn during the war. The developments will be completed once the war is over, since, this war is not going to take 5 years.

They are developing steel cuirasses and have cultural norms surrounding hygiene. They also make unique, awesome currency by shooting lightning in rocks. Branches of one Fulgurite are the basic unit of the currency.
>>
>>187422
This is our turn
We take the boats down the river to Ulan.
>>
>>187508
how else could you attack the bandits?
>>187505
ok so op, this is the plan, bandits rush the door, if they dont open, theyll work on the latches, or start chopping through

the horse archers will stay far back. FAAR back. We have the suprior range, so well set volleys of arrows on the city. The romans can hold shields, but they cant be open from all front and top. so keep firing and keep up the pressure.

The first legion is surrounded by fire. They have defensive runes, but its biological. (eg lakers couldnt go on land but water sweeps the shores so logically fire works too. additionally the islanders never specified what kind of protection. Since they were burning in their armor earlier i will asume that they dont have fire protection.)

also again with the swarm. Since op didnt specify the kind of transmission, im going for the "works for everything" solution. Blood. We can use monsquitoes to bite then. Even if the disease doesnt work that way, insects from a new land will transmit some disease at least

>>187521

lake is so close too but its like they dont exist

Fulgurite is sand, glass technically. It's production necessitates a priest traveling to the desert to strike the sand with his magic. It is difficult to make and impossible to counterfeit.
>>
Alright rolling for defence at Arcanum

The same tactic that Aquila had. Legionaries hold shields above archer and himself. The wall gives archers 3/4 cover.

We launch volleys at bandits and horse archers.

Also op the walls are full stone since this town had a quarry and Theres no wood for hundreds of miles.

>>
>>187608
Fine we throw some rune grenades on them. The explosion will fuck the fire .
>>
>>187422
You arrange a bridge with your metal shields to spread the fire thin. You direct women and children out of the city first, followed by the soldiers. Unfortunately, there were some civilians trapped inside burning homes, and though brave legionaries saved a few, others burned with the fire.

1st Legion: 113
Aquila garrison + civilians: 52

>>187578
Defensive runes protect foreign people from entering the city, so bandits cannot enter but all other things such as fire, smoke, insects, and animals can. If runes are destroyed from within the barrier, an opening can be made.

Going to wait a little while in case either one of y'all wants to change your attack strategy in Arcanum.
>>
g2g folks, will update your turn in a couple!
>>
>>187628
but thats meta as shit because you were planning to try runes first before i told you that wouldn't work.

1st Legion goes on the boats to Karakorum. We have siege engines (catapults).

Aquila Forces Go to Ulan Bator and burn that down since no walls or troops. Kill all men and take women as slaves.

Arcanum keeps gates shut. The archers man the walls and the Legionaries throwing Javelins (atlatls) at any enemy who comes close to gates.
The archers target Archer Cavalry

2nd Legion Fires cannons from our cannon ships and blows up dafuq Owtovit

They weren't walking over us! They had one city! They were receiving resources and you and kahn spazzed out because "herp derp, those are our resources" what part of that was me going insane or them walking over us?
>>
>>187890
we practically begged them not to put a city in that spot and said we would trade, but they put it there anyway. Anyway then they disprespected us by saying we could never win in war.

Now that may sound childish, but i will not sit down and take it up the ass like britain and france with germany before world war 2. (also wasnt khan, that was winged sun)

anyway lets put this behind us and work towards peace. We can teach you how to horse. We can give you gold, help you set up a gold mine in the desert, all kinds of stuff.
>>
>>187903
Is this because you realise how futile it is to fight me?? I can burn down your capital, Ulan, Your mines near sky and dafuq Owtovit and then just head back to my home....
>>
>>187890
What do you want me to do?
>>
>>187916
ulan isnt my capitol... also with what army? Apparently first legion headed to lake.

If you are refering to you city guard, our cities have guards too all practicied in bows, and have horses.

>>187922
accept the peace deal. if you dont like the terms, offer a new one.
>>
>>187925
Honestly Im realizing how much other people think im a warmonger. I dont really like war, I like city building and stuff. I play games like banished, not total war. I want peace. I want as many people playing the civ thread to stay happy. If we "trade cities" then I think everyone gets what they want. Plus I think wed rather save resources than continue fighting.
>>
>>187925
Really >>187669
How about a fully trained army with siege weapons versus like 0 town guard since you took all warriors. what is in the city is the old young and women
>>
>>187940
i checked the last like 2 threads and searched "catapults" and i saw sky trying to trade with us but i see no mention of you guys building them. I see trading for the tech, but no building of them. OP can you confirm? Anyway, if you guys still have city guard, We still have them. I only said warriors, not city guards. They werent on my mind when I chose to move troops
>>
anway, deal?

its mutually beneficial, and you wont be seen as warmongers. If you burn down our cities when we want peace, youll be seen just as evil as us.
>>
>>187956
Siege engines can also be cannons mate

Either way you're fucked I will kill civilians
>>
>>187986
Nope. You are the warmongers

You started the war over a city
Now we gonna end it
>>
>>187998
cannons are trash against horses. They move too fast and cannons arent easily aimed Since we have no walls, its useless. Your siege engines would be wiped out. Mouse, can you see how im being reasonable? This is my last warning before we take more cities.

Don't test me.
>>
>>187998
Dammit! Where's legate when we need him!
>>
>>188013
do you want them to win?

I want peace. The legate ran off because of raging after losing a city. Im done with war. Island, youre legion is at sea, you dont have any cannons because they're with the legion, not the city guard. We have a city guard as well, much more trained equipped with horses. Just accept the deal.
>>
>>188024
Legate would've allowed peace.
>>
>>188041
Jesus fuck! Island is legate. The fucker quit at peace!
>>
>>188315
Maybe he just went to sleep, op is gone, so well do this tomorrow.
>>
Anyway mouse do you want to make a pact that in any wars we are in we wont hurt civilian life?

that separates us from the baddies.
>>
>>188370
Like the Geneva convention in real world? That sounds like a brilliant idea, we will have to include temples, libraries, hospitals and possibly guild centers.
>>
>>188398
woah, we are in meidival times dude. Im just saying no harming people who arent in the war. Maybe in the future you can help the plains tribe achieve a kind of literacy and create those buildings, with guild centers, maybe the sky tribe can collect taxes off these buildings and we can give resouces.
>>
>>188444
I know how I'm going to play this.
>>
>>188460
if you have a different idea im all ears.
>>
>>188463
No, I'm going with your idea, I just know how I'm going to word giving you words and guilds.
>>
So heres what I'm gonna do

We go to you capital and burn your farms and only take 15 horses.

Then we trade Arcanum for Ulan and Dafuq Owtovit.
Then I sign an agreement where i can't share horses.
Also we get 20 wimmin from your capital and 10 from ulan . PHAT ASS WIMMIN. Note they won't be killed.

Also an agreement will be struck and I'll never colonise a piece of the plains.

And finally YOU WILL KILL YOUR BANDIT VASSALS IF I GET RAIDED BY BANDITS. So you better get those rogue Bandits in line. Ask your bandits to kill other bandits.

Otherwise say bye to the capital, ulan, Your mines, Dafuq and your monopoly on horses as I'll take all the horses and share them with lake.

Im not talking capturing your cities... The population of males will be genocided, The women in chains, The babies drowned in the river.
We will salt the earth and burn everything you love.

thats my offer.
>>
>>188953
Did-did you make a proxy so that you can do this without looking like the instigator, because if so, you sir, are a god among villains, if not, then you are clearly overreacting.
>>
>>188953
There's no way they'll accept burned farms
Instead ask them to repair your farms for you
The women, c'mon are you serious? There's no need for that
Just ask for horses and protection from banditry
In exchange for what you said

>>189000
No, the ID is same, do you even know what a proxy is?
>>
>>189002
I was asking whether one of the plains nation instigators was one of his proxies. Would've been very clever.
>>
>>189014
Evil yes, but clever.
>>
>>189015
Nah, more like pathetic
>using a proxy to win an imaginary game on a Taiwanese Surfing Championship board
Yep, pretty pathetic
>>
>>189018
>being jewish to get spells on an imaginary game on a Taiwanese Surfing Championship board
>>
>>189002
Yeah that could work. They rebuild aquila while they at it
>>
>>189037
Jewish is a state of mind, something that I cannot reverse
I am cursed by my Hebrewness, oy gevalt.
>>
>>188953
1st legion is still stuck in the fires of aquila.
the boats are headed for dafuq and it will take atleast 6 turns if you decide to turn them around without attacking daduq
meanwhile ulan bator works as a outpost. it will see your army and alart us of its movement

also arcanum jas had the starvation for like 4 turns now. so it has a -40 defensive penalty
>>
>>189083
1st Legion isnt stuck in the fires. Read Op's last post
We on boats toward your capital
We have cannon ships at Dafuq

I have two armies
1st and 2nd Legions
Ulan Bator will burn
Arcanum stronk
>>
>>189085
Watch, watch
He'll now try to turn the whole argument around by saying that you need x turns to do that, and he'll invent game mechanics that OP didn't approve so that he can have an edge in the battle
>>
>>189085
where did you got all of them on boats?
also fire must have dome some dmg to your ships. and even if not you will be sailing in thick smog. so you cant see for shit
>>
>>189018
Not to win, if he simply wanted to win he would've overwritten any action that could in any way assist his enemies against him. No, he wants war, that is, if he is responsible.
>>
>>187766
OP
This is my turn
Tech: Plumbing
We need water in our houses cause we're lazy fucks, and the fact that we're close to a river and we've got pipes oughta help with that
Action: Build a hue forge to mass produce glass and metallic items
Action: Teach the bears to stand with their hind legs and give them an alphabet so that they can become regular pop in our villages
>>
>>187526
We have iron, we have wood, and gold is just a luxury item. We pull back from the lowlanders
Tech: aerodynamics
Tech: loom
Action (if there is room) search for oil.
All this, of course, only if the priestess approves.
>>
>>189104
mouse is the no hurt civilians pact include plague swarms going for crops to force a surrender?
>>
>>189109
Probably would, also to note, it hasn't been signed yet, also also, don't get mad, but I don't approve of giving away guns, powder and lime for trivial goods as we have been receiving in turn.
>>
>>189114
we could use our forge and production buildings to mass produce for you. would require we had the tech for what you want
>>
>>189104
What do you mean by pulling back? Also instead of tech loom we should create a new institution: The Guild of Smiths (So we can have trained blacksmiths and gunsmiths and also an implied forge)
>>
>>189119
I don't like how thoroughly fucked you've gotten on these trade agreements is all, and that sounds like a splendid idea, but I do so like the idea of getting cloth going for early flight technology.
>>
>>189114
>>189119
What's our next trade going to be guys?
>>
>>189123
Glass would be worth some lime, and we may consider giving you something for the hawks. But cannon is too heavy. What, exactly, would you ask for food stuff?
>>
>>189119
for you to start a guild like that you need a pop that is already trained.
we can provide that pop
>>
>>189125
You won't have a pop soon if you don't take my deal. Also we won't burn your farms if you accept
>>
>>189124
For food stuff, I'd take some goats and potatoes
And for glass, some limestone would be nice
For the Hawks, I'd take some of that spidersilk armor

What would you want in exchange for some minor spell?
C'mon guys I'm the only one without magic here, and my Island "friend" isn't giving me even the means of getting magic
>>
>>189126
your deal is shit and your army slow. our horde will be back to rek you

we will send swarms to all your citys and destroy your crops. starve you

give us arcanum and it will stop.
we will help you rebuild aquila.
but no horses
>>
>>189133
Wow, you are WAY too sure of yourself
>>
>>189122
We aren't getting fucked by the trade deals we literally are fucking everyone else because we have all the interesting techs the other tribes have developped and many other superior ones, the materials we trade are only there to allow us to have a surplus and plus we need gold for our Bank and for our Bounty Hunter's Guild, not all tribes have currency. Also maybe replace our search for oil for the guild I can see why you want oil but there's many other stuff we should do first (Research Chemistry, Create a university and also create a Mercenary company) and The Guild of smiths is a good first step towards those some of those institutions.
>>
>>189132
The Hawks as a one time thing, sure. You receive some armor for your generals, I would have to clear the loom by the priestess of course, but it sounds like a good deal. As for spells. I'm not sure. That would take something major. Perhaps as a down payment on cheap food? And not the lightning spell, that shut is integral to our economy.
>>189135
I can deal with that replacement, but I stand by the fact that we are asking too little for our guns.
>>
>>189135
You're not fucking me my friend, we have mutual benefit in this whole ordeal
You might be fucking over everyone else, but at least all my interesting tech isn't being given up so easily
>>
>>189133
Now that is shit

Also your plan meta
Your entire army is on the way to arcanum.
Our army using a river will arrive at your capital in less than one hour or something.

Also I doubt an insect swarm could fly to my cities which are fucking far away
>>
>>189123
Plan originally was Printing, lenses, plumbing ,artillery and telescopes for Elk archery, Grenades, muskets, Bayonets, swords and creation of a chapter of the Bounty Hunter's Guild in one of your cities.
>>
>>189139
My trade agreement doesn't interfere with any of this and I agree with everything here. I approve.
>>
>>189138
the forestfire is strong. have a city that alerts us.
we will countinue to burn the forest. you troops will choke on the way while getting bit by mosquitoes infect with diseases. boats are slow horses are fast
>>
>>189141
>boats are slow horses are fast
This depends on so many variables. Which direction are you going?
>>
>>187505
Op? Which direction does that river flow?
>>
>>189136
>>189140

We can't teach spells unless their population converts to our religion Op will fuck us up otherwise (he literally sent a dragon last time because of this). If you want more stuff maybe we can simply ask for converts to our religion and immigrants that way we can diversify our magic and have more population.
>>
>>189146
That would work.
>>
>>189149
Let's drop aerodynamics for this trade this turn. Flight can wait a little longer.
>>
>>189141
We at the river
WE Could not care less about the fucking fire.

HOLY FUCK. WHO IS GONNA CAST THE SWARM WHEN YOUR ARMY HAS LEFT.
>>
>>189170
swarm magic is genetic
>>
>>189170
and obviously you never left your basement. forest fires are FUCKING HUGE. YOU WILL BE BURNED AND THE SMOKE, ASH, ETC COULD TRAVEL HUNDRES OF MILES
>>
>>189179
The fire is weak >>187757
I haven't seen forest fires only veld fires. They big but you can get away also we aren't surrounded by fire.
>>
>>189186
The retreating troops started fires aswell on their way back. look at canada for an example of the damage done
>>
>>189194
It *is* a pine forest, one would assume, as it does have elk. Pine forests burn down as part of their life cycle. It's what they do.
>>
>>189153
Lake doesn't have all the techs yet so the trade can wait. Also we just acquired boat tech and we control the winds... So next turn let's improve our trading potential by creating a colony next to our silk resources, create a shipyard and create some ships. We already have rudimentary flight and the only thing we need to research is physics for our guys to figure lift to create a new ship model with wings and a aerodynamic form to have as an unique tech airships.
>>
>>189212
>as a unique tech
You line it up with the noun. Not the adjective.
>>
>>189212
You mean raft tech. Lake didn't research boats and ships Like me
>>
>>189219
You seem to be implying something :) Won't accept a deal without some workers (and a few families of immigrants ) to help us build faster.
>>
>>189194
Well thats an odd detail to leave out of your turn when you retreated..

I don't see anymore fires
>>
>>189226
You want island families in the mountains?
>>
>>189231
On our river city.
>>
>>189233
What are you offering in return. Ships is a mighty tech
>>
>>189235
What do you want we have many techs and are about to acquire many more >>189139 and also the mountain is filled with good stuff.
>>
>>189239
How far are the muskets?
>>
>>189242
Already developed although if we research aerodynamics as well as rifling we would have more precise technology. I do have a proposition How about a guild of Sailors? Your ships are dependant on the wind, we kinda have the ability it... We don't want to straight up give you sky people but I would be fine with specialized workers that would take part in no combat and whose role would be limited to assure that the winds are favourable to your interests.
>>
>>189248
>ability to control it
>>
Let me develop the techs and then we'll spend a turn doing a massive trade
>>189235
You want good ships?
Like REALLY GOOD ships that only we can make fast as fuck?
Give me Spirit Link and I'll assure you we'll be the fastest on the Lake
>>
>>189254
Explain how spirit link = fast ships
>>
>>189250
OK so,
Tech: aerodynamics
Tech: loom
Action: smith guild.
>>
>>189277
This is for Island eyes only
Spirit Link allows me to gain spells with which I can control water, like waterkinesis per se, and since I have superior ship technology so far, I can add some wooden water wheels/turbines and they can be powered by the water kinetic users, thus not needing wind to power our boats, and making them significantly faster

>>
>>189309
We'll tell OP to make some changes, you can't not have water magic
>>
>>189309
>>189296

We need an university to study magic and science... Let's put it in neutral territory: Winter's Refuge! :)
>>
>>189321
I'll agree to that but that university will be about RESEARCH, not practice
So our individual magic is not compromised
>>
>>189313
yea, we need water magics.
Plains fire shit is fucked up
>>
>>189321
Too dangerous: Lets put it in Arcadia
>>
Alright, a couple things.

>>187776
Your roll is for attacking, not defense. Its not your roll vs their roll, its you roll and its measured against their defense check. In the case of the fire-escaping debacle, I chose from their roll to measure success of the escape because they didn't attack anyone. Also, fire + forest, of course their city would burn.

>>187940
I'm not allowing you to have catapults. Not only have you not used an action turn to have them, you didn't include them in your original troop count. I allow cannons only because they are on ships and no other reason.

Also, you don't know that the cities are undefended and it would be pretty damn stupid in game to leave the civilians from Aquila undefended. Going to Dafuq with a new fleet in the direction of Arcanum is one thing, but going away from the field of battle to attack more after having a city burned makes no sense.

>>189212
Nigga how the fuck are you gonna make prototype airplanes with wooden wings after knowing aerodynamics? You need to make ships move really fast to achieve a large enough drag force to lift you, and I don't know any method you could do that in recent years. Also, there's no way I'm going to let you get away with that with magic, flight with forceful gust is way different because priests literally force air downwards to have sustained jumps through the air.

>>189313
There is no such thing as water magic, elemental spells are wind, ice, and fire. You can either have immigrant spellcasters from other nations or convince nations to teach you things.

I'm going to run Plains attack turn unless Plains changes their mind.
>>
>>189336
I agree to that, but I'm sure sky wouldn't

So let's make a neutral colony for reasons like that
Somewhere where all the guilds, mercs, etc etc are based in
All factions ought to chip in and help
and it's under treaty to not be attacked by anyone
>>
>>189336
That sounds like some one is sour about putting it to close to the plains people, place it halfway between the cities.
>>
>>189338
OP, are you doing my turn?
>>
>>189340
I'm for the university being between the two cities
>>
>>189338
This is what I wanted oil for, Priestess.
>>
>>189339
Not moving my national guilds but building new (and different institutions) in a new place i"m for.

>>189347
We are going to have to research and create so much stuff to have flying machines that way : We are going to need the right materials, engines, physics in general, advanced metallurgy, Steam or Electricity for factories to produce the pieces and the pieces for the factories, etc. Researching some of that will take a few turns. Planes are very far my friend, let's research air gliders we can drop our grenades from them and ships can move more cargo anyway.
>>
>>189368
>engines, physics in general, advanced metallurgy, Steam or Electricity for factories to produce the pieces and the pieces for the factories
>will take a few turns
A few threads more likely
>>
>>189373
Indeed we are nowhere near the technology for that.
>>
>>189381
Your right, we need advanced clockwork and then we can link a turbine to a propeller and use the gust on the turbine.
>>
>>189338
Well to be honest op. My plan was to get their capital. Thats why I gathered such a huge army just to go here.

I thought they would be in there because legionaries used them

Also thought this would be enough >>186127

But okay
>>
>>189345
I dont remember you having pipes, explain more how you wil make plumbing system?
>>
>>189392
Ulam Batur isnt the capital. In any case, how would you know where the Plains capital is? You ahd to use lake traders to trade with plains nation in the past so that can't be it
>>
>>189394
With fat pipes I managed to make mortars man
You just take the mortar tech, without the gunpowder and the cannonball, and you slim the pipes down
Plus, our plumbing will currently be working with the strength of the currents, I plan on making water pumps later on
>>
>>189394
Pipes follow plumbing, at first "plumbing" just involved a tunnel that allowed the river to flow under the city, or at least the bathhouse, which had toilet functions inside.
>>
>>189397
Fine Then fucking burn Ulam Batur to the ground with the Aquila garrison and first legion. Then send out dove scouts in search of the enemy.

Do i have to roll for defence on something or the other
>>
>>189389
Even that is going to an awful lot of time we don't have clockwork and we are going to study engineering first to have it. Then there's turbine that's going to be to be too heavy for us to move with just our air gust magic same for the fuselage unless you want to make it out of wood ( which I wouldn't recommend due to rot and exposure to the elements) after that there is the whole manufacture problem either we create a new guild which will mean very low production or we make factories and we have the same problem as before.
>>
>>189422
Roll 1d100 for the scout.

You never roll for defense.
>>
>>189426

>>

>>
>>189439
FUCK YOU DICE GODS
>>
>>189440
Gliders powered by Magic would do about the same in less time. Sorry, if I am so against it but honestly I think that it would be a waste of time to go that way. There is so many techs that we haven't researched that would be important to have ( irrigation, crop rotation, magnets for electricity and that's just the civil ones, there's also many military ones that we need).
>>
>>189441
Revenge serves only your pride, and with that nugget, I quit all threads that contain your poison.
>>
>>189439
>>189422
My bad, do roll if you want to attack the beseigers at Arcanum. 3d10

The dove scout scours the land for the enemy. He doesn't find anything.

The survivors of Aquila follow the river west and find the enemy city of Ulan Batur across the river. The city garrison stays back to protect the children, and next turn the 1st legion will attack the city after crossing the river.
>>
>>189456
Don't leave just cos of one guy, you might be a pussy, but you're not a jerk

Capitol is krakorum like in mongol history.

So op, the swarm magic was for the legions, if they don't do diseases can they at least eat all their food?

Also legate you can burn our farms, well just move them to new territory. The land will be richer after because of he burning.

Island archers drop like flies. They don't die by arrow wounds, instead they suffer the effects of
the pestilence brought by the swarm, and cannot function as regular soldiers, though they may as well be dead, the effect is the same.

The pestilence will grow to the legions by 1 every turn.

Island Garrsion at Arcanum: 15 legionaries

The lake is extended underground via mortar pipes to create a well deeper inland, near the farmer territories! Two other pipes branch from this central pipe, one going near the fisher's residence and the other at the Town's Hall where the delegates debate all manners of things.

A great forge is created to mass produce glass and metal things. Keep in mind producing complicated shapes, i.e. glass bottles and sculptures, will still take time, but simple glass for building and metals for forging are possible.

Bears can stand upright and can understand Lake language, though they are not very good at speaking it. Some at the fisher party believe the solution is to enroll the cubs in school to learn, but the other two parties are vehemently against the notion, and kill any proposal to educate the bears.

1st Legion
> Attack: 15+113=128
> Defense: (113*2.5) =282.5

Ulan Batur
> Attack: 18
> Defense: 18

2nd Legion:
> Attack: 14+40=54
> Defense: (40*2.5)= 100

Dafuq Owtovit:
> Attack: 13
> Defense: 13

Not even close, all the citizens are taken as prisoners of war. Ulan is attempted to be burned, but the only main items burned are the horse stables and the roofs of some houses, everything else is relatively the same. Some horses burn, but the majority scatter into the wilderness of the plains.

Dafuq is bombarded with cannon fire, though only six or eight cannon balls land to destroy houses. The bombardment causes many folk to scatter and escape Dafuq, though by the time the islanders land in the city, they find some still choosing to remain.

Islander prisoners:
> Ulan:18
> Dafuq: 5

Plains Horde:
> Attack: 14 + (30*2) + 5 swarm magic = 79
Arcanum:
> Defense: (50) + (9*2.5) = 72

Seven die at Arcanum from volleys. The plague eats one more out of functionality. Only 2 remain, deciding to surrender the city seeing no hope of victory.

THE BORDERS HAVE SHIFTED!

Island gets two new cities, but Plains lost one. Aquila is now a city ruin, all buildings having been burnt and crops razed by the swarms.

Islanders promise to never colonize in the plains, but they are able to have horses and a portion of mined ores from Arcanum as war reparations. Furthermore, both nations have embassies in each others capitals to repair the relationships between each nation.

Pretty sure muskets are already researched

Anyways, the Island tribe attempts to rebuild Aquila. It will take another turn until the farms come back to population producing status.

They also try and develop steel armor, and make a very primitive version. It is very expensive and very rare. Only commanding officers of legions wear them, and they only wear them for battle because they are clunky and uncomfortable. They have other soldiers carry the armor for them when going to train here and there.

Think I'll introduce another world event, seeing how we're 100 years into this world. Right now though, gotta eat, brb!

A forge is constructed in the image of the Plains nation's forge, but it will take another 3 years for the nation to build it.

At this point I can't remember if it was just an idea for the future or actually done but a while back plains had asked sky for writing and they agreed to share a language/alphabet to strengthen bonds and improve trade.

Event 3: Manifest Destiny!

It has been a century since the gods has ordained the former tribes of the world to spread their lands in their name. At this critical point, each deity has special messages of where to expand their domain next.

The Lake Lady speaks to multiple monks and discuss a realm across the sea to visit! She is surprised no colonies have been established on the eastern coast, and urges her followers to cross the seas there immediately.

The Sky Lord is pleased to see the Sky nation emerge as lords of the mountain still. Confident in their strength, he commands them to settle the lands beyond the volcanic ash, where terrible creatures live and infest the land that once belonged to the sky lord. The lands are riddled with very rocky terrain, so he wishes the nation best in their pursuit of exploring the terrain in their visionary flying vehicles.

The Star Chief Azora urges that the strength of the Plains nation lies in the south, where the desert is. The ruins of past Star worshippers can help progress their civilization in many ways, by learning from their decline and rising above the rest.

Each deity commands that if in the next half century (10 turns) three colonies of population that naturally grows to 100 (that means NO MIGRATIONS) are established in these regions, the gods will grant them TWO BOONS.

Oh yeah, and what about Lake Nation? Well, with everyone scattering, Lake nation can fill up the Wintery north an the rest of the forest. They learn from their companion bears that a lot of forest bears live in the north, and what with increased bear labor, they may perhaps get a boost in industrialization after establishing three all bear cities with pop. 100 for the heck of it (?????)

Anything goes now, its been 20 turns who knows what will happen in the next 10!
>>
>>190654
Hmm, I changed my mind now, You get 20 turns, but you must start each city with pop. 25 and spend one turn scouting the area first!
>>
>>190654
Hey, about 1/3 of our population adheres to the Lake Religion
But ok, I like this little challenge
But does it really have to be 3 colonies in the Ice?
I want to build a colony on the eastern sea
>>
>>190251
>>190654
Going with this this turn
>>
>>190662
Action: send waves of horse scouts to explore land, specifically looking for water.

Action: settle village carved into canyon like Mesa verde. Mining village. Water below canyon, correct?

Tech: research desert survival, eg Domesticated lumpy sand horses
>>
>>190654
>>190047
>>190061
>>
>>190667
You can do that and still be in the north

Gonna call it for today folks, its been real. If everyone links their turns here, I'll probably do them before I sleep.
>>
>>190662
Would we still need to scout of we ha e knowledge of the area? The temple ruins we saw in the dessert last time seem like an ideal spot for this mission

Basically Me and plains had a war thats over. Thats the most complex part
Each nation has three Actions per turn
Tech,Action,Culture

Blah blah
Every nation has space open
>>

-Trade with island
Smith's Guild
Trade with lake >>190123 ( or if they don't change their actions) Tech: Irrigation

>>190718
Roll for action. Also, is Plains researching desert survival or looking for camels, cuz those are two diff. turns
>>
>>191799
we have camels, i just cant remember if we domesticated them. So im thinking that desert survival takes several turns to learn, but the first thing that we get is the camels, because i remember mouse talking about domesticating them.
>>
>>191887
He talked about it but it was never done. The war broke out instead

>>

>>
>>194172
Well I did tell you. So that must mean i used my bird messengers. Anyone speak island in the water tribe :D
>>
>>194182
Well, going by the fact that we developed as a tribe together, and we've traded a shitton of times, and that we're not far geographically, our languages are similar and your people most likely speak Lake/Island and our people must speak Lake/Island/Sky
>>
>>194197
me and sky writing and language is extremely similar
You have some weird ass writing
>>
>>194213
Writing =/= Language
Dutch and French Creole have the same writing, that doesn't seem it's intelligible to both parties

we need wood what do you need

>>194295
ulan is forest. and we have bandits running all over. send a dude and he might experience a robbery gone bad

so you got to convince some horses to go. you stil need to avoid bandits.

also i call meta. since you tribe has no idea where the horses went. if there even was horses there
>>
>>194324
>I call meta
I already explained this
Island told me about it
And Ulan is close to Megara, meaning my guards, who aren't senile 80 y/o men, they can see about 500 meters in the distance, meaning they SPOTTED the horses fleeing
>>
>>194312
I had your capital and took two of your cities...

>inb4 tortured kids

But thats behind us
I think we should research horse armour.
we'll give you wood for masonry tech and some Clay
>>
>>194324
Oh and bandits go for carriages, not people with nothing valuable on them
Which is what I'm sending
They have no reason to attack me

masonry for writing and paper
clay for wood
>>
>>194329
there is a forrest in between. and island never told you ingame

Plus, shrubbery close to rivers isn't so dense, and Ulan is adjacent to a river
SO......

Stop trying, I'm taking the horses
>>
>>194348
Hey this has to be fair
Masonry Tech is only one turn
Wood > Clay

so after the turn it'll be
Clay for wood...
We'll throw in Supplies of paper for Clay brick tech
So then it'll be
Clay for wood and paper supply
>>
>>194363
no men was sent so no.
and the city is the same distance away as the island. meaning you cant see it.
stop trying no meta gaming4 u

>>194370
And Megara, isn't far from Ulan Bator
It's actually really fucking close
>>
>>194369
clay for wood and paper supply. deal

we teach ourselves how to make paper

we trade masonry for writing.

and since we get writing from you. we should have the same written language
>>
>>194378
confused it with dafug

ulan and megara had a huge fire in between.

you could not see it.
you can scream that your taking them all that you want. but ur not
>>
>>194378
If it took my army a turn to get to their capital FROM ULTAN BATOR then its pretty far...
>>
>>194391
Yeah, there's no way to make the distance half a turn, and if I can colonise Philadelphia from Arcadia in 1 turn, then that means turns are not a measure of time
>>
>>194387
>ulan and megara had a huge fire in between
It wasn't a huge fire, Ulan barely burnt, only the stables and some houses burn
Also it wasn't in between Ulan and Megara, it was in Ulan
>>
>>194404
if it is close you can attack in the same turm

It sure as hell didn't take you 5 years to go to Ulan
>>194419
>>194416
Aquila is not in front of Ulan though, that means there's still visibility

Plus, why are we even arguing
If OP didn't object to it, it's a legitimate move
>>
lets stop the discussions for now until op comes back

island. i want the same language as you and i want wood
>>
>>194380

Paper
