You walk around the area, picking up anything that could be of use. The ground is mix of sand, clay and sandstone. You find miscellaneous rocks as well as dead shrubbery. You also find a piece of agate and a tribolite fossil. The plants you find include: cactus, yucca, sage, poppy, mustard and evening primrose.

You collect the plants around your house and find water stored in many cactus.

Surveying the land, you see a desolate wide open area. There are plants in the area as well as small mammals, reptiles and birds. You have 10 acres to call home.

Ask him when the rains come. Go to the general store and buy enough mortar to build a decent sized cistern. Get a shovel, rope, and tackle. Once we get back to the farm we'll locate a n area where run off is heavy and dig a hole, mix mortar with cactus juice, and build a cistern for catching floodwater.
