and as last we left off we were going through a secret door, pretending not to be a pale officer

Isa was the first to enter, You were surprised by this pure hidden entrance. There was more to this than meets the eye these slums

The man on the other side was armed with an old model of a rifle, His skin looked awfully sickly; it gave you that impression that he didn't go outside for a long time. He bore a few scars on his neck and face with some odd pride it seemed This rugged thug appeared to know Isa since he paid little attention to her as she entered this narrow tunnel. When his eyes met yours, his tightened his grip on his rifle.

"Who's this?" His trigger finger was itching for some action.

The dim tunnel grew more irregular till it opened to a large opening under slum. According to Isa, this was once something like the rotten womb but it simply dried up way before settlement. It was sealed then The first district Old Urse was built upon it.

Weapons, exotic goods and other illegal supplies was found here, the place was bustling with men and women buying and selling without the prying eyes of the law. Your eyes spotted various armed men. Some were even more armed than the guards above. It would be indeed a bloodbath...

There were a lot of small shacks and stalls around but a singular structure oversaw all the action below. Methrude must be here. No doubt.

The two of you went straight for Methrude. You were inspected once more by heavily armed thugs. Moments later, you were allowed to enter.


Methrude's was nothing but luxurious surpassing your accommodations by long stretches. How did such a woman amassed so many fortune like this?

The Most elite of her thugs were standing in every corner waiting for a single mistake. Your eyes widened upon seeing her handling some papers on her office.

She was a woman of the South

Your glorious nation attempted to tame this tropical hell once . Nothing but diseases and blight came out of these parts. It was perhaps one of the most formidable foes your nation has faced.

Men and Women of the south were isolationist and very aggressive when it comes to foreigners. What makes them unique over than their wondrous immune system is the Parasites that inhabit their bodies. Usually in form of worms and other large insects. They give powerful arcane powers to their hosts.

Usually a southern body can host one or two parasite.

Methrude had three.

A glowing worm creature coiling around her neck, A small insect-like creature burrowing from hand and something on her back. You couldn't tell dude to her choice of clothes obscuring it.

Any Southern who would come here for one reason or another would be automatically stripped from these abominations. This appeared not to be the case.

Your pale ward was clutching your heart dearly, you could feel the immense grip on your heart.

Methrude bared a toothy smile upon seeing Isa "Darling of mine, so good to see you! I pray my last gift was to your liking?"

"Yes, Methrude. I-" She was interrupted as Methrude eyed you most exclusively "Oh what do we have here? What's that? A Pale officer? and a trembling one at that."

Your mind was getting invaded by the coiling worm, you couldn't know think properly for a moment.

The thugs immediately raised their weapons "Easy boys, We have a proper company here. Let's us behave....Anil, Is it? Why the guise?"

Isa quickly cut in between you two in hopes to ease the tense "Anil wants your help, Methrude. We have no one to go to."

"Yes." you muttered angrily.

"It was sold from here, my oaf of a brother do not deal with eastern contracts; considers them below '''his standards'''. Darling, surely a man of reason would know that there is nothing free in this world, no?" with a simple gesture, all of the guards have left. Looks like she wanted to tell you something of import.

They directed you to a small stall, brimmed with weapons from every corner of this world. Some appeared old and rusty, others were relatively new. Perhaps they did not want you to waste more time heading back to your household

Another stall had a different assortment of protective garment. The man inside was waiting for you as well.

"Pick something." said of the thugs, "Don't waste any more time already"
