Okay. This was it.

Space.

Oooohboy... Falcon couldn't help but feel jittery. The Suit's old propulsion systems had been completely refitted for space flight - after all, jet engines don't work in space.

Q had managed to reverse-engineer the quantum bullshit effect that happened due to Double Up linking two Suits' drives at once, creating a small field around the user where physics decided to take the day off.

Basically, the Suit now simply willed itself to move, and it did.

Of course, they had test flights, but the system hadn't been perfected yet. What could possibly go wrong?

It was far easier than with the previous versions of the Suit, since Falcon had the foresight to make the new wings hinge over the shoulders like a mantle.

The rocket starts barreling down the railway as the EML kicks in. In only a few short seconds the rocket has reached the end and has started rising through the sky. Passing by clouds and quickly reaching the limits of Earth’s atmosphere.

The comms channel cuts in with Valkyrie.

At this moment a terrible screeching starts at the tip of the rocket.

With that the comms link cuts out, and you’re left with the sound of the rocket engines roaring and the protection system screeching. After a few hours you’ve almost arrived at the mothership. The screeching noise has never stopped and has only gotten louder as time goes on. Holding on tight you get ready for impact, the moment is here. Are you ready?

The rocket keeps speeding in. You can see the side of the Mothership hurtling towards you. The rocket hits with a massive impact. The doors of the compartments shoot open and let you inside the Mothership.

All the suits are in somekind of corridor. Everything around has a purple, metallic sheen to it. They definitely know you hit them, but nothing is showing up yet.

"You know..." SK suddenly cut in, somewhat unsure. "This feels like the time where someone makes a cheesy speech. Where they go 'we fight for freedom, and we won't go gently into the night because this is the day we have the freedom to celebrate Halloween!'."

He laughed a bit, mostly to himself.

"Figures these fuckers would do nthing on a special date, but we work with what we got." He smirked inside his helmet, before clearing his throat and continuing.

"I'm not gonna tell you to fight for freedom, or to fight for Earth or whatever. That place was fucked for years before the Vannai even came, and it was probably only gonna get worse. But even then... even so, if nothing else, these years have taught me that there are things worth saving. That no matter what happens, no matter what tries to break us or tear us apart, we humans are too stubborn to just lay down and die.

I made... actual, true friends! I died, even came back and I saw that no matter what, people never gave up on the hope we'd see a clear night, filled with stars and possibility instead of the constant threat of fuckers bombing our cities and making us kill each other.

If nothing else, that's why we're going up. Because they hurt us, because they tried to divide us and use us as weapons and we lost so many.

Instead of loading another missile, the launching system ends up imploding, smoke billowing out of the suit's mouth.
"God FUCKING DAMNIT! I thought I had it optimized just right! I blame this on this broke dick AI!"
The AI lets off slightly aggressive beeping noises, but brings up a message reccomending that one of the ally suits can repair the broke missile launcher. Carrier Prime, to be exact.
"Hey, Ball Boy, can you do some fixing on this?"

Knight glows lightly, as he picks up his discarded Argent Slicer again. His armor crackles as red lightning strikes tbe ground around him, his visor glowing even more brightly as he charges up into the sky.

Now that the nanomachine burst has run its course, the pilot's mind clears enough to figure out what kind of position he's in.
And its not good. Lying on the ground, a dozen klaxxons blaring and damage reports popping up one after another, desperately trying to grab his attention, trying to tell him the suit's reaching its limits.
He clears them all without a second glance.
"Can't stop now," he mutters, spitting out a piece of broken tooth. Dammit.
The suit very awkwardly begins rolling around on the ground, the pilot sluggishly manipulating the controls to put the flames covering it out while trying to clear his head. Previous iterations of his machine had specialized in conducting heat, and the insulation retained from those days would keep him safe from the flames, but the suit itself wasn't built to handle that kind of stress anymore.

and streak up into the sky to fight the aerial drone...which has decided to meet you head to head with its own melee weapons. You strike first and manage to rip away several of the Vengeance Organs it was using as weapons. It strikes back with flaming claws.
