News comes from Divatagrad. The holy tree was destroyed! Unknown assailants snuck in, set the tree ablaze and detonated multiple explosives before getting out - no clue as to their identity was found, save for writing on the walls, in blood:
"The false gods shall fall to the earth"
A mere husk remains of the tree, shambling driftwood falling to the ground. The people of that city are terrified.
>>

F

Initial reports have surfaced after an investigation, it appears that the suspects teleported from the scene, used gunpowder and fire magic, and were dressed as pilgrims.

Seeing as all signs point to the Whitevaynes, we should have more news soon about this treacherous act. Our apologies to the people of Divatagrad that such a horrifying act could have been pulled without being stopped.
>>
The High priest of divata, Gordon, comes out to address his people. He puts a brave face on, even though he is sad inside. He then begins to give his speech in a passionate manner, hoping that his people hear his words.
"My friends, My people! Divata's Sons and Daughters! The tree was burned by evil fiends, investigations have led us to believe that the whitevaynes have done it! However, I ask that we all remain calm. We shall leave this in the hands of the Holy Pantheonic Empire, and our court system to deal with it. It is not our place to investigate, nor is it to judge, however it is our place to pray. I am certain divata shall guide us in this most trying time. However, did our ancestors give up at the battle of divatagrad? Of course they did not! Much like our ancestors, we shall not give up either. Someday, we shall return to normalcy. Someday indeed. May it come soon! Pray to divata for guidance, and she shall show us the way."

The war situation as of Jurias, 813
The Zhongi retreated south of the Bao river.
The mountain front is a stalemate.
Our desert forces are rested.
The centaurs were repelled from the badlands.
Naval forces in the east succesfully allowed our goblin operatives to enter enemy territory and spark rebellions among the enslaved goblins in the eastern part of Hajatas.
In west Hajatas, Kamborash is buckling under pressure, the capital is under siege.

Now we turn to the issues at hand in Roggar...

A royal army(almost entirely made up of troops
recently trained by Duke Swift-Hands) has marched into Eternia - they stand a few miles away from Charlestead, having marched along the road from Dragonstomb.
They encountered no organized resistance along the way. The last villagers that could evacuate now flee behind the city's gates, which are then closed. Men stand atop the battlements of outer Charlestead, the floating castle of the Whitevaynes some two hundred feet above the ground.

The caliphate have spatial magic and gunpowder and have a motive. Why would you attack these innocent people for no reason? You haven't shown any evidence and there's a far more likely suspect. Maybe Roggar could be great if they stopped fighting themselves for once.
>>
The besieging troops see the closest gate open - it is some hundreds of feet away, but it is open all right!
If you intend to begin the assault - roll three dice on each side(which is to say, Mill rolls 3d100, 3 other guys roll a d100)

During the later hours of the night the Eternians rally and push the besiegers out. Both sides are tired and can no longer fight, returning to their respective camps.

During the night, the besieging camp is attacked - reports vary, some saying it was monsters, others saying it was men - wielding magic, weapons, some attacking just with their claws and teeth. They killed a number of officers, before retreating - one was slain by a priest wielding Light magic - the corpse was nothing but ash.

The Eternian troops are now encircled and are being chipped away at - their own gunners and bowmen have little ammunition, while the goblins have massed crossbow volleys that are tearing up the Eternian lines. Many of the men are not trained soldiers - in some places units try to charge into the sieging forces, only to get slaughtered, elsewhere they hold ground, only to get bolts raining down on them. Ian Whitevayne is doing his best to keep things moving as he leads his men in the attack - but is there still hope for his ramshackle army?

Ian Whitevayne led the last remaining troops in a suicidal charge against a cluster of goblin crossbowmen, where the enemy commander was positioned - their horses were shot down, bolts were sticking out of them, yet they stood up and kept running, further and further - throwing their spears at the enemy, shedding bits of armor, falling down, bleeding, crawling.
By the day's end the Eternian army lay shattered. Nearly fifty thousand dead, another three thousand escaping into the farmlands, the remaining four thousand captured.

The city now lies almost defenceless - its walls, streets and those civilians still left there, with almost nothing that can be considered a weapon.
What will the besieging army do? They lost twenty thousand men and have another twenty-five thousand wounded to various degrees, the remaining 15k being in good shape.

It was pride and faith that convinced the people to still hold out - when the assault began, that quickly evaporated. The walls were easily breached and there was almost no one who left to fight - the attackers were outnumbered by the population still inside, but the people of Charlestead were largely unarmed, almost all untrained. There was little real fighting to be had - around the inner castle and the Statue of Charles, mostly - the latter being outfitted with golem-like weapon systems, it proved to be the only real obstacle to the invaders - yet it too was eventually shattered, its defences dying down.
By the 1st of Moris, 813, the city of Charlestead had fallen to the invaders. What they would to with the close to hundred thousand people still left inside was up to them.

As the sacking of Charlestead ensues over the next days, news of various developments spread.

The main frontlines against Rhoznax and Zhongian saw almost no changes, minor engagements, both sides reinforcing and maneuvering.
The terrifying news comes from nearby Iron Hall - scouts report activity in the area as thousands of surviving Iron Legion troops regroup around the fortress and the remaining lands of Eternia that were not captured. Furthermore, there are rumors being spread that Kambor has fallen after King Forzand Kirzar was assassinated and that a part of Kamborash has bowed down to Anavark, while elsewhere resistance continues.
The war is far from over - even the Iron Legion is not yet finished. The floating castle's location is unknown and most of the elites of Charlestead were able to evacuate. The great city has fallen, but some resistance will continue...
Tomorrow, or at a later date.

The reason for this hideous attack? None, There were no investigations, no negotiations, none. The whitevaynes were attacked for a suspicion of them having a tie to the terrorist group Remnant dawn, although investigations and multiple inquiries have found none.

Where were you when the council and the empress threw our laws into the dirt and slaughtered countrymen? A city and land that had contributed 50 thousand of their sons to Roggars war and negotiated for Kamborash to aid us.

After much confusion, the decision is reached, a bragging merchant not even of the order with no support amongst them. Nobody really understood what took place but nor do they care.

The funeral for the deceased Councilor Ravak was suitably lavish, his replacement had insisted on that, despite the will of the dead requesting a frugal send off.
After the casket was out of the way (the Superboat being used for transportation over the river), and the 6 foot statue of the late war hero had been unveiled, Trusted Councilor Drunf was finally able to give his attention to the important stuff.

From his podium, before the chaotic masses of Trusted Defense, the new Master of Law addressed the public:

“This other day, I was in Barnabus Rest, one of our great cities of old, in my youth it was the greatest place in the world! But Barnabus Rest is no longer Barnabus Rest. There’s Galvanni all over the place, their temples mushrooming! They are practicing their own heretical faith. They’re speaking their own tongue. They are not integrating! Not. Integrating.
The fact is, when the duke sends his people, he’s not sending his best. He’s sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems to us. They're bringing swampweed. They're bringing crime. They're rapists… And some I assume, are good people.
These are not kind people folks! Remember the riots where poor old Vanders died? Such a great guy! And my sources tell me it was all Galvanni that caused that!
Therefore, I am hereby instituting a Galvanni immigration ban, until like, until we figure out what the hell is going on!

Only a few days ago, I had a chat with the Lord of the Knights of Juras and the good lord Hayden of Barnabus Rest. Great guys! They love me!
They told me of the High Elves, how much the Knights had done for them. How they saved them against the Black Legion in Ezirin. How they slew the Man in Black. How they did everything for them! So helpful! Too kind for their own good!
And I, I looked them both in the eyes, and I told them “And then they stabbed you in the back, supporting a common thief over you.”
And they both looked me in the eyes and told me “You know what mister Councilor, you’re the first one to ever say that out loud.”
People, we’re being taken advantage of! Because stupid people are leading us. And I’m not gonna let that go on.
When I take office in Dragonstomb, as the Master of Law, my first law will be hitting the High Elves with a flat 30% tax on all their goods! If they wanna trade in Roggar, then they’re gotta pay up first.

And it’s not just them! It’s everyone out there! They all want to suck us dry folks!
>>
>>1679862
Do you know how many are buying Trusted Paper at discount, or non profit? Too many! Too. Many.
Our stupid leaders, stupid, stupid, stupid, have been giving away our trade goods to everyone! Everyone else in Roggar is taking advantage of us. They all tell me so! Last week, I was in Gobbopolis, and their merchants were all telling me this. They all said “Mr Councilor, we just don’t understand why you guys let us take advantage of you all the time” This is bad folks!
This other day I was down at the paper mill, and all those poor workers was asking me to represent them, to speak up for them! They were all saying “please mister councilor, don’t let them take advantage of us anymore” My first act as Trusted Councilor will be to tear up all those agreements! All of them! If anyone want to buy Trusted Paper, they gotta pay up first.

Too long have we been taken advantage of! But with me here, no longer. No. Longer. We’re gonna start winning again folks! Believe it! It’s gonna be the Trusted first, Trusted first.”

He kept to the walls on his left side. He didn't look much different from any one of the other goblins, he'd made sure. Some bloke that was muttering about vampires got shot by a musketmen in the balls once, then the chest twice. The Imperial Guardsmen were holding the line though, moving as a block of full-plated knights with shields, supporting each other with supreme coordination, each of them worth ten normal fighers. That gave the suicide bombers enough time to get in close and start their explosions - little damage was done to the portal, it was too far away, but one bullman did manage to break his way through the lins, screaming "Death to Anavark!" as he carried a barrel of gunpowder under each shoulder - blowing himself up in the middle of the spatial mages.
Still, far too crowded and not enough explosives to take out the portal proper. Killing the mages would do, Morslieb thought as he got into position - he took out several grenade bombs and started chugging them - once he ran out, he began throwing knives, took out his small crossbow and lined up a headshot. That was good enough - now to get out. He hadn't told anyone about the second device he had. It would only take him out of the location - there were still too many defenders, the attackers had bought themselves enough time.
...

The Keep of Iron Hall was finally silent. The fighting had ended - close to a hundred attackers lay dead, but the portal still stood. However, it was deactivated and many mages were wounded or killed - they'd need time to recover and get it back running. The commanders started giving out orders - the siege was far from over. This was merely a delay in the schedule.

The siege camp had some cannons - not an impressive amount, but enough to make a breach in most walls. Gunpowder was the main issue, though - some was consumed for the strike force initially, so the stockpile wasn't full. What's worse, during the night enemy operatives outside Ironhall raided several gunpowder stockpiles in the siege camp successfuly. The bombardment is stalled for almost an entire day by the time new supplies arrive.
Morning of the 11th of Moris, the portal on the inside is once again operational as the cannons outside begin roaring once more. The sieging army is up to 58k troops. The defenders number 30k.

Another hour passes as the attackers have managed to finally clear the clouds, but have lost ground in the courtyard. The battle is equal fought, but a hope arises for the defenders - a halfling contingent has arrived, bringing The sacred Orb of Domna to aid in the fight - the halflings are led by the Ondalian Archmage Golglav Sagen, considered the Kingdom's finest wizard.

The defenders managed to mass-teleport a unit of riders outside - away from the main fighting, they ride from camp to camp, attacking the positions where mages had set up before to block the fortress' spatial network. They succeed in taking out two of those mage camps and still haven't been taken out.
In the fortress, though, the defenders advance forward, securing ground and preparing to breach the second layer of walls.

While the griffon riders engage the riders, the defenders on the inside employ a bold tactic - all available shieldbearers and spearmen deploy in the outer grounds, forming two walls on either side of the attacking force - from there they have the attackers boxed in, but the assault is also relentless and the two sides are evenly matched.

Get your heroes/special units out and prepare for battle!
The gates are broken down and the first ranks charge in, met by fire and steel. The fighting will be tough, but the portal is not far now!
A curious sight among the attackers is a contingent of foreign volunteers that arrived on the battlefield yesterday - a colourful group, no more than two score all, they claim to be heroes come to give their aid in stopping the Anavarkists from unleashing a terrible evil upon the land.
Prepare to fight! Present your hero/heroes(could be some knight or soldier you made up on the spot if you don't have anything) and roll!

The portal is growing - but it's much slower, by a crawl - something begins to take shape - a massive hand emerges from the upper part of the portal, its fingers grasping onto a chunk of half-collapsed ceiling.
"You have to go BACK!" The elvish woman yells with all the power of her lungs as her sword, kept behind her shield until now, is fully charged up with blue light -stepping forward, she thrusts it at the portal - a swirling, spiral ray of energy is launched, darting forward and piercing the dark energy of the portal clean, continuing on as if without end. From the burning spot on the portal, white-blue flames spread in all directions, engulfing the gateway from bottom up - the hand that had emerged clenches its fist, collapsing a part of the roof, before pulling back into the darkness before it is entirely cut off.
The sky clears, revealing the stars above. A strange silence has descended over the battefield.
It is over. The full moon shines on - giving the world light in the deepest darkness.

As the looting and raping of Charlestead is still going down, Trusted Councilor Drunf and his entourage arrives, having travelled at break neck speed from Trusted Defense after the getting elected.
With an approving eye, Drunf eyed the chaos, profits being made all around him. There were Trusted soldiers, carting of loot and war brides, the death of that lame Ravak fellow having freed them from all unprofitable constraints. Even better, his own merchants from the Drunf Mercantile Association were already there in force, buying and acquiring both trade goods and property to be resold at exorbitant prices later, the profits would be YUGE!
Turning to his fellow travellers, their faces bleak from the carnage unfolding in front of them, he proudly exclaimed: “This is what winning looks like folks!”

Many meetings, giving of medals and feasts were on his schedule for the day, high energy was his motto after all. The first stop, the statue of Charles the Rapist.
“We’re gonna TEAR THAT DOWN guys, the entire thing! And then we’re gonna put up a statue of Bryguarda Stormbeast! 51 foot tall, we’re already bidding for the building rights.”
“I see my lord.”
“51 feet I say, taller than the previous one, bigger and better. And all made out of gold!”
“Gold?”
“You heard me, I make the BEST statues!”
“That’s going to be quite expensive.”
“And the eyes are gonna be rubies!”
“My lord…”
“And it will breathe fire!”
“I’m not sure if…”
“And all the children of the city must swear allegiance to it every dawn!”
“I don’t think…”
“Bah! Low energy naysayers all of you! SAD! You know what, the statue just got ten feet taller!”

It is late Moris and the news of the Battle of Iron Hall have spread around.
On the Zhongi Front our situation is as pictured:
70k Ondalian troops, 100k Roggarians(40k of whom are Ogres) have secured the northern side of the Bao river. On the opposite side the Zhongi armies are estimated to have similar numbers.
Our military intel suggests that our biggest advantage is naval - Around Bien-Gan and Zhorang a massive allied force is assembled - it has almost three hundred warships from different nations - 70 Ondalian ships, 85 Roggarian Ships,30 Paitran Ships and 100 Anglanorse ships.
Leading the Ondalian Army is King Salno Ondalan - nominally, though, as he is said to confer to his commanders for important decisions.
The Ondalians are still skeptical of many of their neighbouring lords, who they discovered had acted against Ondalia during the last war.

If you have people on this front, you can say who they are. I'm not quite sure who's leading the RDF.
Discuss war plans, ask for more details if you wish.

Sebastien II is on this front

IF SHIPS ARE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO BEISHUAN BRIDGE:
Concentrate our forces on the bridge just across the Beishuan River, have the Greater ogre force (30K), alongside a regiment of 20K Roggarian Defense forces, and another 20K Halflings, totaling to 70K troops, have the ships go up the river, preferably as close to Roggarian Controlled side of the river as possible without scratching or damaging the hulls, far from enemy cannon fire. Once they reach Beishuan, have them open fire upon the fortifications on the other side of the river, have land siege weapons also get into position on the bridge, after having breached the fortifications, we will use standard assault tactics of charging across the bridge until we take the city. The boats should go upriver under the cover of night, so as not to arouse extreme suspicion.

IF SHIPS ARE UNABLE TO MAKE IT TO BEISHUAN BRIDGE:
Have them sail to the fort closest to the coast, the one near Baodar-Shi. Have the Ogres divert 10K of their forces from the greater ogre force and the Roggarians shall divert 30K of their forces to that assault, having us total 110K troops in an assault. The Ships shall open fire, breaking down the fortifications, then we shall do an assault on said fort, however, at the same time, we shall do another assault on the fort directly to the right, it shall be much smaller however we will attempt to make it seem big via illusion magic and deception.

Also, we'll scout before carrying out any of these plans

Vote on the plan:
>A. Have ships go to beishuan bridge
>B. Attack the Baodar shi bridge
>>
Send out scouts/scouting ships in order to observe enemy ship numbers and gain a rough estimate and/or the details of their weaponry/equipment if at all possible.

After that, siege Baodar-Shi with the Halfling forces, and Beishnan with the greater Ogre forces. Roggarian defense force will then divert 30k to the Halfling army, 10k to the ogres, and the remaining forces to whichever side is struggling the most. We will also bring the ships in for the siege, so a naval battle is probable, but we will attempt to flank the enemy navy if at all possible.

The information that has been gathered:
The Bao river, in this season, is wide enough that a smaller ship(like a caravel) can sail up and down most of it. However, it would be hard to fit more than two or three caravels next to each other - they'd have to sail in a column. Caravels are more lightly armed and armored than carracks and galleons.
At the river's thinnest there are bridges - it is nigh impossible to cross any large force without the bridges. The bridges closest to Baodar-shi is sturdy, made of stone and wood, while the other bridges are not so strong.
There are forts on each river crossing with garrisons stationed. It is reasonable to assume that there are cannons and/or other long-range defensive equipment at each fort. The river is wide enough that it's hard to shoot from one shore to the other accurately, but the Zhongi forts are all in range to fire at any ships in the river or at the bridges.
We do not know what Baodar-shi is currently like in terms of defences. Pre-war maps describe multiple forts and layers of walls as this is the largest city north of Zhenzhuhei and a strategic location. The bay of the city is where the enemy fleet is docked - it numbers at least a hundred, at most two hundred ships.
That is all - scouting report, 26.10.813.
>>

Can we see across the river - that is, can the Roggarian defense force see the enemy on the other side? Let's just be sure we can follow their movements and match them in some way.
>>
>>1689401
It's hard to make out the details with a naked eye, but Nature magic users can enchant their perception enough to make out the general movements of large objects or formations well enough.
>>
>>1689407
Let me post the second part of the plan again then, just to be clear on our next step - "After that, siege Baodar-Shi with the Halfling forces, and Beishnan with the greater Ogre forces. Roggarian defense force will then divert 30k to the Halfling army, 10k to the ogres, and the remaining forces to whichever side is struggling the most. We will also bring the ships in for the siege, so a naval battle is probable, but we will attempt to flank the enemy navy if at all possible."
>>
>>1689411
Scratch this - first, let's see what the King and his men have to say.
>>

Trusted Defense, Drunf’s private tea room. The sound of peaceful protestors being rounded up by Drunf’s sadistic thugs barely audible in the background.

“Things are kicking up at the Zhongfront again guys, and I’m not gonna let the dumb grandmaster of the Knights if Juras run my things over there. He refused to endorse me and this is the price he will pay for that.”
In the following silence, only the prayer beads of Vicecouncilor Pen-ce clicking can be heard. At last, he raises his head and responds: “Then who will you have represent us there then?”
“Why, my most trusted man. The warrior monk, Ma-this!”
“Your… hatchetman?”
“Damn straight, call him in.”

Ma-this is brought forward. Dressed in simple robes, a man of lithe build and a catlike walk, eyes filled with nothing but barely controlled rage, a hatchet stuck in his belt.

“Ma-this! My man! You’re just the man for the job! I’m making you a general in fact!” Drunf pauses, his close set eyes narrowing down on his nose as he’s thinking.
“We can’t send a general alone to the front! Pen-ce!”
“Yes my lord.”
“Comb all the jails. Get me some killers! Several hundred at least! And give them hatchets! They’ll be the hatchetbrigade!”
“.... As you wish my lord.” Pen-ce responds before returning to prayer. Ma-this merely grunts.

A maidservant appears, her teapot quickly and soundlessly refilling all the cups on the table. As she curtsies, she is sent flying, a massive release of storm magic responsible.
“Pen-ce!” Drunf bellows, his tiny fist smashing into the table, “What now!?”
Pen-ce, his fingers still counting prayer beads, does not raise his eyes. “Her swooshing of skirts was of a most sinful nature, and her scent was most certainly intended to lead men into damnation. I even believe the split in her skirt would have allowed me to see her ankle had I not averted my eyes in time.” Pen-ce finally raises his head, waving a couple of guards over. “Have that strumpet taken down to the dungeons, an afternoon in Lady Maria’s care will teach her to spread the taint of lust in our halls.”
tldr: sending General Ma-this with a few hundred guys to the area.

Strategic meeting of all Imperial commanders present on the Zhongi front - both army and navy. Held in an undisclosed location(not far from Bien-gan).
War leaders present:
King Salno Ondalan, King of the Halflings and his field commanders, leading the Ondalian Army.
Admiral Seyline Pougom, leading the Ondalian navy - and, though not officially appointed as such, practically in lead of the joint Western Imperial Fleet.
High Jarl Jovald Ankorsald of Aagberaad, leading the Western Norse fleet.
Count Adrian Durant of Nosarand, leading the Paitran naval detachment.

Say who you have representing your faction on this front(it can be a token representative) and put forth proposals to this Joint War Council.

The Ondalians object. In particular, Admiral Pougom - speaks out.
"Your porposed plans either ignore the enemy's defences, overestimate our own capabilities or assume that Roggar can dictate everything. You don't take into account the biggest asset of the Zhongian Empire - their dragons. If they are allowed to mass up they can turn any battle to the enemy's side - be it naval or land. We hold the superiority at sea, but the enemy will not be so stupid as to leave the defensible bay to engage us in open waters where they would suffer certain defeat. They will make use of all defences they can. Furthermore, a naval invasion, while possible to execute in theory, would be a logistical nightmare that would be so slow to execute we may as well just start swimming.
A far more reasonable plan would be the following - firstly, as some proposed, small strike groups can be sent across the river to begin disturbing the enemy's rear - this operation can begin at night. At dawn's break the land armies will advance - Roggar's forces will force the river at all available points, while Ondalia's army is in support near Baodar-shi. At the same time, I will lead the combined naval force forward to assault the bay. Under pressure from so many directions, the enemy will not be able to mass their own dragons at any one point without sacrificing other points. Perhaps two bridge crossings will fail, but the others will succeed. The main aim is to force the river at its western point - as soon as a chance is presented and a foothold on the other side established, the main Ondalian army can cross over to the south and we will have a solid foothold just east of Baodar-shi. From there the enemy is presented with two options - abandon defending the other river crossings or risk the city's safety as it is attacked by land and sea. If they rush to defend the city with all available forces, our assault will likely be unable to proceed, but we will have secured more crossings across the Bao river and will be able to bring more and more forces over."

The fleets set out before dawn had broken and were in the bay in early afternoon. Reports coming in by the spatial network stopped being reliable around noon. From what the fleet had heard, the infiltrating squads had suffered heavy losses, while in four of the five bridge crossings the Zhongi are holding fast . Only the halfling army has reportedly managed to force its way across and is fighting to secure the fortifications on the other side.

The enemy's fleet, which has arrayed itself for battle, is in sight of our own ships, though not yet in range. Our armada is arrayed, left to right, as follows - Roggarian, Ondalan, Anglanorse, Paitran - the Roggarian navy is closest to the shore as such. As we prepare to enter battle, maneuvering our lines and columns to array our cannons to fire at the enemy, who has begun similar maneuvers, the waters beneath us stir - massive whirlpools open up, the waves lash out at the hulls of our ships - caravels are engulfed in those whirlpools, opened primarily at the point where the Roggarian and Ondalian fleets meet. Our own ships maneuver closer to the shoreline, pushed by the tides and winds. From the depths two water dragons rise up, swiftly striking at individual ships before dissapearing back under the water. From the east a trio of dragons appear - one Storm, one Wind - and one Ice. The clouds turn dark and thunder begins to roar, the winds turn against us and the waters around some of our ships freeze as the dragons begin a highly coordinated joint attack, focused primarily on the Roggarian fleet. The Ondalian fleet is also hit hard, one half of it caught in the dragon's area of attacks. The Admiral's Flagship is able to maneuver out into steadier waters. The Zhongi fleet is now in range and our right wing begins firing - we are able to achieve a greater firing rate and accuracy in the places where we engage the enemy, but those dragons are tearing our left side up!

The battle for the Bay of Baodar-shi has begun - not on good terms for us, though! Roll 3v3

The large warship moves in to intercept a column of advancing Zhongi fireships - with a strong starboard broadside it took down one ship before turning around and unleashing its port cannons on a second target.
When a water dragon emerges from the water to try and attack the ship, its captain leaps from the deck, spear in hand - he impales it in the dragon's body, causing the great beast to lash around and go back into the water. The orc does not let go, however, following the dragon into its own domain. A minute later the dragon jumps out once more, the orc still on its back, now having filled it with half a dozen wounds. After another minute of fighting amid the crashing waves, the dragon's body surfaces once more - lashing out one last time before the spear, now crackling with lightning, is impaled in its skull.

A dragon has fallen! While we've taken a heavy beating, this intervention has given us a glimmer of hope once more!

Around the time the sun had set, the battle was won. About a dozen Zhongi ships escaped, no more than twenty retreated to the harbor in good shape. One dragon was killed, two were wounded. Over a hundred enemy ships were destroyed, two dozen still float around - some in the process of sinking, others abandoned by their crew.
On our side casualties were not light either - from the Roggarian fleet three caravels and thirteen carracks have survived. Eighteen Ondalian ships have made it out of the battle,
fifteen Paitran ships and sixty-five Norse ships. A few of the ships we left behind are salvegable, but our current operational fleet is down to around a hundred ships.
Reports from the day's advances elsewhere on the front are as follow:
Three groups of three hundred were sent behind enemy lines. Two hundred men made it out.
The Smaller Ogre Force was practically wiped out - the last hundred-odd ogres have holed up in their fort.
The Greater Ogre Force saw a third of its count lost, while half of the remaining troops are wounded. The RDF is in a similar state. The Ondalian Royal Army is the only unit as part of the entire frontline action that saw clear victory - losing one golem legion, they secured the crossing closest to Baodar-shi.

On the 1st of Dranis, our forces on the front are as follow:
106 ships
ORA - 65k(one quarter wounded/damaged)
RDF - 40k(half wounded)
GOF - 20k(half wounded)
SOF - no longer able to go on the offensive

Total losses in this operation on our side: ~45k on land, ~150 ships at sea

Losses on the enemy side(estimated): 1 dragon killed, 4 wounded(two of those having fought on the river fronts); ~100 ships destroyed, 25-30k on land

We have crossed the Bao river and entered Zhongian proper.

From his gilded podium atop the deck of the Superboat, Trusted Councilor Drunf addresses his fellow men of the Councilors, the venerable sages all seated on the deck in front of him.

“My friends!
As some of you might know, yesterday I had the forces of the NSA deployed in force.

As I’ve warned you all about before, the Virist presence in our lands is a danger. Danger! They refuse to integrate, they hold no loyalty to our values, their temples are a source of extremism and secrecy. They bring crime, heresy, swampweed, they’re rapists…. and some of them, I assume, are good people.
I made it a promise of my campaign, to take action, to find a solution to this problem!

Therefore! I had my men deployed. NSA, Knights of Juras, my judges, all of them!
And aaaalll the temples and shrines in Trusted Lands devoted to Virism had their doors kicked down, all of them!
We took their clergy into custody, we searched the premises, we shut them down folks!

And as expected, we found bad stuff! Bad! Stuff we don’t want! In Barnabus Rest…” Vicecouncilor Pence tries to signal Drunf to stop talking, but Drunf only smiles and winks at him “We found some bad people folks! Really bad! In Barnabus Rest! Cultists! Dark magic and all! But don’t worries, we got them all folks, not a single one escaped our swords. Cleaned it all out!

Now, my legal advisers say we can’t prove that these folks had ties to the Galvanni, not 100% at least. BUT! Neither can the good duke disprove it! Can’t, disprove, it.

So those temples are getting refurbished folks, the Royal Chaplain, great guy you know, first to endorse me and all, he’s providing us with priests and books and such, all that stuff to make those smelly Virism temples into proper Pantheonic temples!

This is winning folks! I just won! I’m a winner! And so are you! And we’re all gonna keep on winning folks!”
