Welcome to my first attempt at a Tribe Evo.

I won't go into fancy detail regarding the background of this world, As it doesnt have much.
Why is the Tribe here? they(and by extension you) don't know.


All the Tribe know, are knowledge put in their head, including very basic law and technology.

Here are the Rules:
>The Game Start With Only One Tribe.
>A Tribe may experience a Split under specific condition(Including Random Event I Throw Around.)
>Each Tribe need at least One Player(Not relevant Yet).
>Every turn is a Season In-Game(3 Month).
>Population Change Every Year as Infant reach Adulthood, and Elder Die.
>Every Turn you get One Advancement, Be it Technological(Create Pointy Stick),Biological(Grow Pointy Stick on Hand) or Magical(Summon Pointy Stick) in nature.
>Every Turn you HAVE to Gain or Change a Cultural Trait.(Your Culture can't Stagnate, if you don't choose anything Unforseen Consequence will Arise.)
>You are Allowed as many Non-Advancement Actions as your Ressources,Knowledge and Time Allow each Turn, you have to Put them in order of priority, so that if you lack the ressouces I can figure which one you ditched for this Turn.

And here is The Starting Tribe basic info(before location is chosen):
Currently their Technology is limited to bashing Rock Together to make Fire,
They have an innate Sense of Magic, but no way to use It,
And a Really good Stamina, useful for long Journey.
Also:
The Oldest Member of the Tribe is Always the Leader, regardless of sex.
The Tribe Believe they were created in an instant without any reason.
And Finally the limited experience they have with magic taught them that it's Dangerous, so they Try to avoid any contact with it through their Sense.

And So on the Coast of the Montainous Island did the Tribe Came of to this Land and Settled. Crude Stone Structure Serve as Housing. Abundant Berry allow to feed the Tribe, a Salt Deposit is close too, Finally, the Huge Montain provide a limitless Supply of Stone.

The general fear of magic from the Tribe shifted to a sort of Awe toward it, making anybody Unafraid to come into contact with command a great deal of Respect for their Courage

Also Despite the lack of arable land to farm, th Tribe invented a mixture of Wasted Rotten Fruit and Feces, very slightly improving the the yield of the Berry Bushes around the Settlement.

Scout send along the coast did find a few Tree here and there, but in very limited quantity, it won't sustain a prolonged use of it.
And Scout who explored inland toward the mountain, Found Scaly Goat-like Animal, the Magic Sense of the Scout rang at their proximity, nobody in the Scout team was brave enough to go near and study them.

Since the bravest and boldest of our tribe have magical sensabilities, its onoy fitting that they will consist of our hunter class.

To hunt with, we will develop a Magical advancement, Earth Spike, where when a scaly goat runs away we will be able to manipulate the earth so that a large stony spike comes out, like a tiny mountain peak, and pierces the scaly goat. If this is too much, then we will simply research how to throw tiny shards of stone with our mind to kill the scaly goats.

Nonhunters should build a pit so that what we catch will be able to be trapped there. When hunting, request hunters toss in a baby scaly goat of both sexes, and if not possible, then ask them to try their best to surround and trap and bring a breeding pair. The wood will all be scavenges and stockpiled near a house, and it will be evaluated to see what we can make of it (I'm planning on making some sort of raft or boat, so just wanna know if theres enough wood for that)

We will mark the magical region for now but not return until we are stronger.

The Previous incident where the scout fled at the sight of the Scaly-Goat sparked a change in the Tribe, only those Brave enough to Face Magic should be sent outside the Tribe to hunt. Making the title of Hunter, a prised but also rare Distinction.

Those Same Hunter, with the boldness to venture deep into the Mountain, got more attuned to the Rock Around them, as they are unafraid of the Magic Current running through their body, they manage to create their First Spell: Stone Shard.

In the wilderness, the hunter manage to corner and kill a few Scago(The name given to the Scaly Goat by the Tribe), and capture 1 Male and 2 Female Scago.

When the Hunter come back, a Pit has been dug to put in the Scago, it needed to be really deep to keep them in.
All the nearby tree has been cut too, and pilled near the Scago Pit.Their is a good Quantity of Wood, enough to make raft for the Whole Tribe, if an Exodus was necessary.

The Next turn will be the Cold Season.

We stockpile one third of the wood for fire during the cold months. We will also save up our scago meat and berries. Cover the scago pit with wood.

As a culture action we should create the winter songs to get us through the cold season and hold our spirits high.

We will research using a hacking pickaxe tool to break apart stone since we have so much stone. Use wood to make like twenty of them. Once the season is iver we will gather stone, unless the season is not that serious and they can mine without trouble.

In the End, far less wood than expected was necessary for the Cold Season, as the location of the tribe is rather merciful regarding cold and heat. The Scago on the other hand are really sensitive to even a small breeze, and so the Wooden Structure build above their Pit helped them against it.
The cautious use of food limited the Growth of the Tribe.

The Cold Season is now Considered a Season of dedicated to the Fesitivity, Chant and Gathering, a Marking of the End of a cycle and the Begining of another that must be celebrated.

The Tribe also learned to make Pickaxe out of Stone and Stick, and Equiped some of it's member to start a Mine, since the mild Winter allowed it.
A Large amount of Stone was easily gathered, but for now they are crude block extracted from the moutainside.

As a technology we now develop masonry.Learning how to use the now widely available stone.

Culturally we adopt competitive sports were our hunters, but also normal tribesmen, measure their skill. Especially marshal arts like wrestling are very popular.

Disagree with masonry, should focus on booming our people. I would focus on breeding scagos, fishing, and expanding farms as a tech. We can probably use stone to build anyways without some sort of advancement. Culture is okay though.

The Tribe decide to Focus its attention toward the Breeding and Husbandry of the Scago, learning how to change it over generation to better suit the Tribes Need.

In their spare time Hunter and the Rest of the Tribe have developped a Tradition of Wrestling as a Sport and Entertainment, due to their Very Nature as Bold and Fit, Hunter often win those match.

All the Housing of the Village are already made of stone, but are closer to a roughly stacked pile of Large Stone that proper House. Proper Maconry is indeed required to give them a better Shape.On the Other a few house had to be made for the increased population.
An also due to the lack of knowledge, large close structure are impossible for now, so an open area has been made as a Gathering area for Wrestle, Gathering and Chant for the Winter.

The number of Scago in the Pit have increased with the additional effort provided by the tribe to their Care, giving a larger ammount of Milk for now, the tribe wait before starting to slaughter any of the Scago for Meat, wanting their number to grow enough first.
In Turn the Population of the Tribe Increase too.

Let´s research masonry to build bigger and more complex structures.

Culturally: the hunters develop a strict code of honor. They are not just the strongest, bravest and magic users, they are also defenders of the weak and keepers of the peace. They are seen as very honorable and virtuos.

Action 1: We are now starting to build a massive assembly building.

Action 2: Our now mounted up hunters scout the rest of the Island.

The Tribe learn to Cut the stone in matching shape, and use dirt as a basic mortar, Drastically improving their Building Capacity.
The Hunter are No longer just the Brave explorer of the Tribe , but also the defender of the weak, it is their duty to enforce Peace and Security for the Tribe, and to not abuse their Power.

With the improver Building Capacity of the Tribe, the Gathering Place is Transformed into an Assembly building, a big Stone Dome, where Wrestle match and Winter Gathering are done.

While out in the Mountain, the Hunter find more Scago, but are blocked from further progression by the steepness of the mountain, a Scago Mount would be able to climb it easily later on. They avoided the Marked Magical zone for now.
They whent back with more Scago to speed up the growing of the Scago Herd.

The Breeding process yield so sucess, two breed of Scago Appeared, a Muscular one, for meat, and could be improved for Mount later, and a Fatter One capable of producing far more Milk.
,the Split is 2 Meaty for 1 Milky for now.

Culture: a religion is founded that worships an almighty godfather that lives on top of the mountains and created everything. Aspiring to be strong but protecting the weak is a fundamental principle of the religion.

Action 1: The farmers breed some of the muscle Scagos to be rideable, one for every hunter.
Action 2: The hunters and their new mounts scout the rest of the island
Action 3: Expand the gathering building, add side rooms for storage, barracks, smaller gatherings, changing, stables.

Support that our deity is on the mountaintop. We shall call him Urgarath. Although we worship that sole father, it does not imply that no other deities exist. Since our patron deity is from the mountains, we should attempt to settle near the magical area that was previously found in the mountain. Those who truly wish to please the deity should spend their lives hermitting at that location. I'm hoping this will make them more magically attuned than our magic hunters.

I agree with all the other actions. Should add an action to stockpile tiny stones to use for hunting, hopefully to increase our hunting yield, and with enough stones we can perhaps construct a stony walkway to the mainland?

A Cult Is founded by the collective story of the Tribe, they Believe a Deity name Urgarath live at the Top of the Highest Mountain. Creator of the World, but not your Tribe. Embodiment of Strength, but also Protector of the Weak.

The Hunter also attempt to ride the biggest of the Scago to get a better mobility on their mountain expedition, even the the Mount aren't perfect yet, they got the hang of it and now know how to Ride Beast.
The expedition from the hunter is done without any Scago mount this time, but next season, the Biggest Scago should be able to serve as crude and weak mount, better than nothing.
The Island is far too large to be scouted to easily, but they did brought back some information.

The breeding effort continue, getting sturdier Scago, but not yet ridable.

And Finally, side building we're added to the Gathering Area, Mostly Storage area for the everything owned by the Tribe as a whole.The remaining wood is depleted.

But, the end of the Season is Marked by the death of the Elder, necessiting a Change in Leadership, the Recent Gain of Popularity and Respect from the Hunter create tension between those wishing the Hunter take on the Role of Leader, and the One Sticking to the Elder Rule.

Their culture is still protecting of the weak... But they are more... Brutal, in ways. The death of a leader is not decided by any certain criteria, rather those who wish to be so compete for leadership, in fights. Sometimes, these are too the death.

And so the Tribe Split, they walk north following the coast , in hope of finding a proper place to Settle , led by the Mighty and Brave hunter, the trip went without trouble
After Two Week they arrived at the edge of a Coastal Forrest, with a River, they decided to settle There, giving them Access to Wood for Construction they built basic wood housing , not enough to be confortable, but enough to protect from the chill of the Night.
they cruelly lack in food for now, as the Scago they brought arent Milk-Scago, and they don't wan't to slaughter them to avoid loosing them definitly, they need time to breed more.

The New tribe decided to Call themself the Scale Hunter, in honor of their Leaders.

Research: Magical Erosion. We learn how to crumble stone easier, allowing for purifying ores when we come across them. Study this at the magical mountain place.

Culture: Elder Council. All the families of the village will send their eldest to participate in an open forum on what to decide to do. Upon the death of one member, the next oldest family member takes his place. It is led by a leader elected by the Elder Council.

Action 1: Send miners to hunt for ores if possible.

Action 2: Continue with the breeding of scargos.

Action 3: Look for more wood if possible. Use the riding scargos

Research Magic:The mighty hunters learn how to use their Magic more effectively, they are now capable of creating and "throwing" long stone javelins at the enemy.

Culture: The leader of the tribe is always the strongest hunter, how is seen as some form of demigod.

Action 1: Start a Quarry, if their is any obvious minerals showing on the surface then start it there.

Action 2: The hunters move out to explore there imminent surrounding, looking for minerals but also for more Scargos and possibly magical anomalies.

Action 3: Stables and fenced in farmland are constructed to house the Scagos and the effort to breed them stronger and rideable continuous.

As the only person brave enough to Use magic, only the Hunter of the tribe manage to Learn the spell of Stone Erosion, allowing them by touching a rock with their palm to make it crumble to Sand in a matter of second.

The recent split of the tribe Motivated it to Change it's Leadership structure, allowing a move continuous and stable government, the tribe is now led By a Council of Elder, The Rather Small Tribe is Now Comprised of only 6 Family, Making the Council comprised of 6 Elder.

The Miner Started whent deeper in the wilderness, escorted by the Hunter to try and find Ore, they did, they Found some, a Dark green Ore, That the Miner Called Uragit after their god, thinking of it as his gift to their Tribe. They stockpile a bunch of it, but they don't know how to use it yet.(Research required)

The breeding bear fruit, and the First Rideable Scago finnally reached adulthood. and can now be used as a proper mount , even tho its a relativly weak one.
Using them, the hunter make an expedition deeper in the land, climbing steep cliff using the great ability of the scago, a bit terrifying at first, but the hunter can't be easily stopped in their track.They manage to find wood higher on the Mountain, but not a lot of it, and bringing it down is going to take time.

The Tribe don't have any seed to use in Farmland, No Space to Cultivate, and No technology Allowing it. More advancement required to make this work.

The Hunter improve their Stone Shard Spell into a Stone Arrow Spell, throwing a meter long stone projectile with an even greater speed, able to completly pierce through a Scago.

With this new addition to their arsenal the Hunter became even more Awe Inspiring, but quickly conflict arise, and the strongest of them become the de facto Sole Leader of the Tribe, being view as invested of divine power by Uragath.

The Tribe begin to Mine the Mountain side for Stone, but don't find any Ore in the vincinity of the Tribe.

Stable and fence are build to house the Scago, their domestication allowed them to be more docile, and not jump over the fence. the breeding effort to make Rideable Scago succeeded too.

The Hunter didnt find any more Scago in the surrounding area, but exploration of the Forrest found an Aggressive Species of Cat with Magical Properties, most notably the ability to pass through wood.

Research: Scale armor, the tribe learns how to craft scale shirts, pants and shields from the scales of their Scagos. While the scales are the main part, bones and tendons are also important parts of the armor.

Culture: Militia, While the hunters are the elite scouting and range troops of the tribe, many tribesmen are training their combat melee abilities in their free time. Also keeping a set of scale-armor and primitive weapons at home.

Action 1: The hunters try to tame some of the magical cats, also studying their magic to maybe find out about additional abilities and to be able to copy them in the future.

Action 2: The women and other tribesmen who are unfit for heavy physical labor start to craft scale armor for every adult men in the tribe.

Action 3: Some experienced quarry workers scout the mountains for minerals, ores or special stones. They are escorted by some militia men.

Action 4: The construction of a massive castle/temple as a government building, defensive structure and seat of the high hunter is begun. It is placed between the Scago stables and the ocean. (Pic related)

Action 5: Militia training as a free time activity

Action 6: The hunters who are trying to tame the cats are also scouting for eatable plants in the forest.

Technological advancement: Foraging. Reduces our reliance on cultivation and hunting.

Cultural advancement: Gender Roles. Men hunt, women forage.

Various actions: build stockpiles of food and wood in case misfortune strikes, like in the old White Tear village.

Research: Simple rafts using our wood. We will send some of our tribesmen to the scale hunters to share the research with them.

Culture: Every family will have at least one miner to help gather resources for the tribe. This is a particularly revered profession because it involves reaping the fruits of what our god Urgarath has given to us, his disciples.

Actions:

> Send envoy north of some tribesmen to share raft tech

The Tribe invent a sort of Scale Vest to protect the vital organ of the wearer, unfortunatly the rigidity of the scale make it unsuited for pants.(Researching Shield is an Additional Advancement.)

Producing these armor in larger quantity allow to Equip a larger part of the Population, Some of Which trained with the Hunter, creating a second warrior group, a Militia who's role is to defend the rest of the tribe, but aren't as powerful as hunter as they still keep away from any magic.

The hunter undertake to tame the Ghost Tree Cat(Gotreca for short.), two result arise, either the cat fled through the tree, making it impossible for the hunter to follow them. Or they Attacked them and injured a few of the Hunter. The Hunter are lost as to what to do.
Giving up on it for now, they gather eadible roots in the Forest for the Tribe, its seem to be quite plentiful around here.

The Militia and some Tribesmen go deeper into the montain in search for Ore, after a few day they stumble upon a Light Green Ore, which they Called Huntid after their respected leader.It's Property are unknown for Now(Research Required)

The First Stage of a Tower is built of stone by the Tribe, it can already be used as a gathering area.

The Lack of Housing is putting a strain on the tribe Stability.

Research: Net fishing, Scago tendons are weaved to Nets and used for fishing. We share this Tech with the white tears.

Culture: We develop a cast system. Hunters on top, then warriors, then all normal workers, then criminals and degenerates.

Action 1: The hunters continue the taming of the cats, now trying to lure them out of the trees with meat.

Action 2: Our tribesmen gather massive amounts of wood and transport it to the shipyard between the villages.

Action 3: Along the river we build fields of the eatable roots.

Action 4: We continue to build the castle

With the little ammount Wood at their disposition, the Tribe learn to make basic raft and build one of them ,far from the tribe village, at the halfway point with the other tribe.

Miner become a respected profession due to their contact with the blessing of Uragath, the ore they extract from the mountain, Uragit. And every Family wanting to be recognized need one.

The tribe also send a group constitued of One Hunter, One Elder and One Miner to share their finding with the Scale Hunter tribe, in exchange of their cooperation and ressources in building more Ship together.
The Remaining Tribesmen build Stone wall along the North and South coastal path around the Village.

Research: We will burn raw Urgarit ore to begin with. Need to learn the correlation between heating up the rock, making it soft to beat up, and cooling the rock, making it hard and even tougher than regular rock

Crafting rudimentory Nets, the Tribe learn to Fish in the rivers, and soon will be able to use it at sea.Providing a new food source for the Tribe

The Tribe start to formalize the divide between Hunters, Warrior and Other Tribesmen, with the higher ranked Caste garnering more respect and Authority over the Other.

Using Scago and Fish meat, the hunters keep on trying to tame the Gotreca, after tedious effort, the Hunter manage to stop the attack of the animals, they mostly flee now at the sight of the Hunters, a small improvement over the Previous attack.

According with the arrengment made with the White Tear tribe, the Scale Hunter gain the Shipbuilding Technology, and they start sharing their Fishing advencment with them.
They also bring from the forrest a large ammount of wood to start the contruction of more Raft, and possibly more sofisticated boat.

In an effort to make the Roots more reliable in term of yield, the Tribe start of field of them.

The construction of the Sacred Tower is continued, adding another , albeit smaller, floor to it
and a Road to the Shipyard is started, using stone to pave it.

Tech: Metal working, we experiment with the ore we found and learn how to make use of it.

Culture: Selective breeding, people choose their partners carefully to optimize certain traits in their children.

Action 1: We build a mine over the ore
Action 2: After learning how to make metal a forge is added to the fortress bordering at the river for quick water access in case of fire.
Action 3: Hunter still try to tame the cats
Action 4: Wood is still brought to the shipyard between the towns and the road is build further.
Action 5: The fortress is build larger.

The Tribe learn the art of Smelting, and in the process discover the Strange Property of Uragit, once melted at a decent temperature, needing a large bonefire and a full day in it, the Ore is transformed in a Glass-Like Metal, really smooth and transparent, with a Green taint, breaking it prove nearly impossible, appart from bashing to lump of it against each other, creating really Sharp shard, not dulling even after many use, more refined shape would require Smithing.

The Tendency of Hunter of the tribe to be seen as being very good partner become a formalized custom of the Tribe, where potential Partner now compete for their attention (including Men competing for the attention of Female Hunters). and as such it is considered a privilege of the Hunter to have multiple Partner.

The First raft built by the tribe are used to make a round of the island, much faster than on foot or Scago. they manage to make the round trip in a month and a half. the lack of sail making it better reducing the potential advantage of sea over land, but still an improvement.
The Tribe start using salt to improve the consevation duration of their food, but only by a margin, still useful for the boat trip.The Scago population keep on growing to feed an ever growing tribe.

A road is also start to be build following the river up to the Magical zone, and wood stockpiled their at a camp to prepare raft for downstream travel.

Research: Casts. The first ones will be primitive ones made from local stone, scratched into shapes from other stone. We will line up our crushed Urgarit, courtesy of our Stone Erosion spell, and burn it over fire to easily manipulate it into shapes without having to beat it down with rocks. First casts will be long sharp shards similar to what we have made before. Since Hunters conjure these shapes up, I'm hoping the tribe can recognize this shape.

Culture: Its about time to actually get cultured. We will develop a written alphabet to record information. We will sketch these in ashes or floral pigments onto stretched scago skin. If this is not possible, our culture will be to create swimming as a sport, competitions mainly focusing on swimming from the north to south walls along the coast.

Actions:
1. A team of rafters will be sent to the eastern part of the island, where the dark vegetation grows, and set up a camp to forage and harvest trees
2. Miners should look to see if there is a type of burnable fuel, ala coal. If so, we can use this as source for our fires and conserve our wood
3. Ten tribesmen will use nets to start fishing
4. Population is expanding, so we make enough housing to support the community. Else, we will start improving our internal paths with stony roads.
