You are the last of the White Rhinos.
According to the humans, you are already as good as extinct. A sole male rhino with nary a mate to be found in all the savannahs and plains of Africa. Once you draw your final breath, your species will be gone forever, a distant memory maintained in the tears of particularly emotional environmentalists and animal lovers.
One day the humans come to you. The carry with them a can of some foul-smelling pink substance that they speak to one another about. They wish to spray it upon your mighty horn, so as to prevent poachers from slaying you just to get at the ivory of your body.
You are a proud creature. Your horn as much a symbol of your manhood as your genitalia. And these silly, peach creatures wish to mar it pink until the end of your days, making a mockery out of you for all the animal kingdom.
Sure, it may preserve your life. But it shall not preserve your pride.
