"Well, we can go back to the club room, or we can go home. The duck was the only thing we had today."

"If we do any more of that, we'll get absorbed by the..." Rod shivers. "The mana league."
"Yeah never mind. If im ever in the same room as Jeffrey "the iron fist judge" again, it'll be too soon."

You all make your seperate ways in the driving Maine rain.
As you walk, you can't help but think how exciting the mystery club sounded in freshman year. Investigating the unknown, chasing monsters, helping not to protect the world from things it couldn't understand...
What a fancy way to describe staying out too late in in the woods because someone wanted to prank you.
Thinking back though, the club had always gotten it's fair share of goose chases. Some didn't even try to hide it. But thinking back, he'd always insisted on investigating them all.
You shake your head. He's not dead, stop thinking about him like that.

Eventually, you arrive back home. It doesn't look like anyone else is here right now.
You retire to your room. As you set your stuff down, you steal a glance at the mirror.

You see the same girl you always do. You don't know what you were expecting.
Slumping back onto your bed, you can't help but wonder if the club will ever run into anything real. It's be nice, but this isn't a scooby doo movie. No real monsters for you.
As you drift off to sleep, your phone buzzes.
It can wait.

The one from last night appears to be a picture of a duck with "BRAINS" attached.
The one from this morning is far more interesting however.

You throw in a fresh change of clothes and wander downstairs. Looks like anyone else has been and gone. Typical.
You eat a bowl of cereal while you wonder what the new job is. Nate seemed pretty excited, so it probably isn't another duck.
Eventually, you lock up the house and leave, beginning your trek to Rod's.

FInally, after what feels like ages, you arrive at Rods house. He and Nate are sitting on the front porch.
"Hey ash!" Nate waves.
>"hey. What's all this about a job?"
"Behold!" Rod produces a sheet of paper.
You take it.
It's a neatly written letter.

To the EHH mystery club-
I have something big to ask of you.
Please investigate the dissapearence of Chad Durkel.
The police Will not find anything, but a group with your bent might.
I hope I am not too late in spurring this investigation.
