You walk along the Northern path several hours before the sun sets, and as you walk, you consume 1 Ration. The sun has set, and it's beginning to get somewhat chilly. As you ponder the temperature, flakes of snow begin to drift from the clouds at an alarming rate, and the air seems to grow colder. If you don't find a way to warm yourself, you might suffer frostbite.

You strike off to the North, going as far and as fast as your legs can take you. For quite some time, your efforts are in vain, and as you consider stopping to rest by the path, you see a campfire off in the distance.

Several large figures sit around it, and a few tents are pitched beside them. You can hear their mirthful laughter from where you stand, and one guffaws in a language you can't comprehend. You doubt the safety of outright approaching them, but there is no other shelter in sight, and you're desperate for warmth.

Say hey from a distance and once you have their attention walk up to them slowly.

You decide that it's best to warn the large figures before you approach. You call out a greeting,

and slowly walk toward the campfire, with your palms outward in a nonagressive gesture. The large figures cease their laughter, and say nothing as you approach. When you are perhaps twenty paces from their campfire, one of them calls out in a deep, guttural voice,

You give an honest reply, and remark in jest,

The large figures guffaw in laughter for some time, and the speaker waves you over. When you are within five paces of the campfire you see the large figures clearly. They are a head taller than you, and seem to ripple with muscle. Their skin is a strange yellow tone, and fearsome tusks protrude from their mouths. Each of them carries a crude axe or club, a few wear human scalps and bones. Orcs.

You place your hand on your sword handle, and prepare to draw. The speaker notices your reaction, and chuckles, reassuring you,

> "Well met, man, son of man! Unless ye've bad intentions, ye've no need to fear. Ye see, the lotta us are bounty hunters, hunting down brigands n' the like. Me name's Guntu Bronzeskull. How do ye call yerself?"
