You awaken from your cryogenic sleep to see the rocky outcroppings of Mars and the UAC main facility. Out at a distance is the beacon of the UAC's progress, the Argent Tower. All of Earth's energy is produced here and distributed across the entire solar system and you have signed on to become one of the new Elite Guards to protect the production of Argent Energy. With this energy being mined directly from hell, they need all the help they can get.

Your ship lands and you hear the other recruits running out. A voice calls out. You feel a bit woozy just coming out of stasis.
>Catch up to the rest of the recruits
>Stay still until hybernation sickness wears off.
>>
>stay still until the sickness wears off
we are not endangering our faculties like that
>>
>>1543544
You decided to stay for a bit, at least until the sickness wears off. You wipe your eyes for a sec, mostly excited that you are here at the UAC. You turn to a window and see the various employees shuffling about, and some of the soldiers and elite guards walking near to them. You hear various doors opening and shutting, getting louder and louder before silence. The sickness has worn off.

You get up to meet up with the rest of the recruits, but they have seemed to moved on without you. The hangar bay seems to only have one entry/exit for people on the ground. You hear someone screaming in the opposite side of the hangar from the door.

>Go through the door to try and find your fellow recruits
>Investigate the screaming
>>
>>1543558
>go through the door and look for the recruits
no one likes a nosy guardian, but keep an eye out for potential risks
>>
>>1543563
You walk through the door and find the other recruits in full armour standing near a device. The captain of the Elite guard is giving a speech what it means to protect the UAC.

"The Argent energy that we produce is a gift..." He pauses as he turns to the machine. "... and a curse. The very nature of this material cannot be understated. It comes from hell. The hell. As such, there are compli-"
He notices you without your armour. "Ah, the last recruit. Hibernation sickness is a bastard isn't it? Don't worry, won't have to deal with that"
He points towards a rack of armour. "We're all out of the red armour so just slap on the regular soldier armour until we can find some more." You walk over and pick up the armour. So light and so full of energy. However, you came here to be an elite guard, not just a regular grunt.

"Now you will have to experience this later recruit. All you red armour recruits, this right here is a hell wave generator. Your suits are to protect you from a hell wave. This right here is to test if your suits work." The Captain turns back to the crowd of recruits. "Harrison, you're up first."

The recruit steps into the machine, surrounded by scientists and other workers.
"Good luck son".

The machine starts and all seems to go well at first, but the recruit starts panicking. He is starting to bang on the glass as his armour is starting to melt.

>Help the recruit
>Stay back
>>
>>1543585
>Stay back
>>
>>1543595
stay back, but if we have weapons raise it to aim at the machine
>>
>>1543595
>>1543602
You stay back and watch the poor soul die.

"Rule number one..." the captain says while the scientists turn off the machines. "... is that you never believe what you hear. Your suits are designed so if you are in the radius of a hell wave, you are to die. This is to prevent you from being possessed by them"

The other recruits look at each other as they take out the armour from the machine. "Recruit, it looks like there is new armour for you".
Perplexed, you start walking over to the armour and pick it up. Goop runs out of it. "Might have to drain Harrison from it, but it's now yours." Horrified that the captain did this, you decide to just keep the red armour stashed in a safe spot while you keep the grunt armour. Let the draining sort itself out.

"Now, to be elite guard you are going to have to be better than soldiers. You are going to have to hunt demons instead of them coming to you. Saying that, make sure to keep some of them alive. The people over the Lazzarus facility don't like you doing that. Any questions before we heard over to the true test of your worthiness of an elite guard?"

>Ask a question
>Say nothing.
>>
Ask a question
>>
>>1543640
How can we tell if there's going to be a hellwave?
>>
>>1543640
>>1543643
Just going to wait to see everyone elses decision
>>
>>1543643
Yeah, ask this
>>
Alright, that is long enough.

>>1543643
You ask about the hell wave and the captain chuckles under his breath.
"Hell waves occur when argent energy goes uncontrollable and creates lighting. Those red lightnings are hell waves. So, if you see something red sparking off somewhere, avoid at all costs." The captain explained. Another recruit asks a question.
"So does that limit where we can actually go?". The captain nods his head.
"Elite guards can only patrol resource operations, the foundry, main administration, some parts of the Lazzarus facility and where we are right now. Any more?"

No one says anything and the captain ushers you and the recruits to move onto the next area. In this area are guns lined up on every rack, some with modifications, some without.
"This armory here is where you choose your signature weapon, and where we are going to start your training." He turns to you. "You, white recruit, choose your weapon"

>Shotgun (Atk: 30, 20 shells)
>Heavy Machine gun (Atk: 5, 120 bullets, 3 shots per fire)
>Plasma gun (Atk: 1.5, 200 plasma shots, 5 shots per fire)
>>
>>1543695
>Heavy Machine gun
>>
>The shotgun is always reliable, easy to clear a jam - Very deadly up close - and no new age plasma tech to fuck up in a bad spot
>>
Rolled 4 (1d6)

>>1543703
>>1543706
Odd number Heavy Machine gun, Even is shotgun
>>
>>1543706
also easy to hit a target in a panic
>>
>>1543713
Shotgun it is then.

You pick up your shotgun, a fine piece of technology, never going out of style.

"Alright, since you are the first to have your weapon, you get to face the demons first."

You look the captain dead in his eyes. "That's right, the first part of your training is to go toe to toe with some of these demons. Don't worry, these are the lowest demons... doesn't mean they aren't deadly". Your hands start shaking with your weapon in hand. The other recruits are choosing their weapons as you are being ushered to the arena. The brooding door stands in front of you, etched with demonic symbols. The captain is by your side.

>Ask him the point of the exercise
>Swallow your fear.
>>
>>1543722
>Swallow your fear.
>>
>>1543728
>swallow your fear
>I have to do this sooner or later, better in an exercise for a first than out numbered
>>
>>1543728
>>1543729
You swallow as the captain opens the door. The arena looks like it is simulating one of the warehouses that might be around one of the facilities.

"Oops, almost forgot" the Captain says, clicking something on the computer. In your helmet, a HUD appears, displaying your health, armour, current weapon ammo and the range of the weapon.

Health: 100
Armour: 0

You walk in as the doors close.

"Let's start simple, send in some of the Imps."

You hear screaming, screaming unlike anything you heard before as you hear machines lifting cages up. In front of you is a large metal crate, probably short enough for you to jump onto it. To your right is a platform, looks small though, maybe only one person can fit on it. There is also a small crevice in the floor to the left.

You make a dash for the crate, jumping up on top of it to make sense of what is exactly coming for you. As soon as you climb the crate, you see something leaping towards you.

You miss and the creature swipes you.

It is now standing it's ground, snarling at you. You grab out the shotgun again and aim.

Since it was in melee range it doesn't miss.

The creature is now on its knees, trying to keep its guts into itself. A voice enters your mind.
Drink from the blood of the doomed just as HE did long ago. Rip open the demon and drink the eternal life that exists inside of it.

>Rip open the demon
>Let it die on its own
>>
>>1543821
Can we shoot again? Then reload
>>
>>1543825
You could.

Since this is Doom, no reload required.

Do we need to roll again? Anyway, shoot again

>>1543838
Even for ripping, odd for shooting.

And since it is in melee range, no.
>>
>>1543839
You shoot and kill the demon where it stands.

You hear the captain come through on the coms.
"Good work recruit, that is your first demon kill.. there are two more of those bastards in there. Kill them, training is over and I can start explaining more about your first assignment."

On one side of the box is the entry way. You could probably hop onto the platform from here. On the other side is a crane and another metal container. There is also a floor that is darkened.

Even crane

Odd platform
>>
>>1543866
You jump onto the crane, which starts to move up. On the boom of the arm, you see the demon climbing up it, charging a fire ball in the hand. It is *just* out of range to hurt it.

>Leap back off the crane
>Wait for it to get closer
>Jump off crane towards it and shoot
>>
>wait for it to get closer, you can dodge the slow fireballs
>>
>>1543885
You hold your ground, waiting for the creature to get closer. You grip your shotgun tight. The demon is finally within optimal range but it fires the flaming ball it was conjuring, almost smiling at itself.

Roll a 2d6. 1-5: You hit but get damaged. 6-11: You dodge the fireball, but miss your shot. 12: You hit and dodge.

Rolled 5, 1 = 6 (2d6)

You rush in and swing at his legs.

The demon falls with a hard thud and looks you in the eyes.

Drink just as the Unchained Beast did so long ago. Become the very thing they fear

>Kill the demon with yourself (Anyway you want)

Even stomping

Odd shotgun blast
>>
>>1543944
>I gotta taste this blood. We need every advantage possible to fight these bastards

SHOOT AND DRINK FROM HIS NECK STUMP
>>
>>1543954
You stomp the chest of the beast, the blood splattering all over your body.

Behind you hear a snarl as the blood of the demon starts to evaporate on your armour. You feel your heart getting faster and faster as you turned towards the last demon, running at it at top speeds. That was the last you remembered before darkness invaded your vision.

What you started to see was a sight to behold. A large creature is swiping all over itself, destroying the landscape that exists below it. The demon is shrieking, because it is afraid. You then see something climbing on it, with nothing but armour and a sword.

You wake up in a medical bay, your new clena red armour beside you and your shotgun on a bed side table. The captain of the guard greets you from your sleep.

>Ask what happened during the test
>Look around the medical bay
>Write ins if you wish

>>1543966
>Look around the medical bay
>>
>>1543966
>Ask what happened during the test
>Ask where our old armor went?
>>
>>1543968
You look around the medical bay and see some pulsating machines. Occasionally, someone dressed in a white coat appears in a hologram and talks about the "advocacy program" the UAC runs.

"How ya doing... guard?" The captain asked.

>>1543969
You ask about what happened during the test and your old soldier grunt armour.

"Well son, it seems that you must've found your spark, because you just absolutely teared through that last imp. When it was nothing but a pile of stringed muscle, you collapsed. Funny thing is, despite how many times the demon swiped you, you still came out of there without a single scratch. Of course we had to monitor you while you were unconscious."

He then looks over to the Elite guard armour.

"Harrison finally drained out of that armour. Just in time, your old armour got destroyed. Yeah, you went hand to hand against a demon basically naked."

You chuckle a little, not remembering a thing.

"I'll let you rest for now. Your first assignment is over at the Foundry. You were one of the lucky few to get one"

The captain leaves as you stare into the ceiling.

Just as he burned the umbral plains during the first age, you... you will burn them during the fourth

>Get your suit on and head to the Foundry

>>Go back to sleep
Growing boy needs his rest.
>>1543984
little late for that
>>
>>1543982
>Get your suit on and head to the Foundry
Want to test the new suit. I don't trust armour that doesn't at least slow down death by melting.
>>
>>1543998
>>1543999
You start to close your eyes a little before a vision of a man appears. The man is standing near civilians.

"But sir, these people have done nothing wrong! They live here!"

It looks like an Earth city, maybe not even a century old.

"If you do not follow my orders Sergent, I will send your ass to mars faster than a bullet that should be going into their heads!". The soldier who complained lept at the commanding officer, punching the living daylight out of him. The other soldiers are raising their guns to him.

Olivia... do not trust Olivia

You wake up to the sound of the spokesperson hologram, now talking about the foundry being off limits at the moment to all but the Elite Guards. You grab your armour and shotgun and start heading out. You look at the map. You can get there via a tramway but that puts you further away from the Elite guard station than if you walked there.

>Tramway to there
>Walk to there.
>>
>>1544046
>Walk to there.
>>
>>1544046
Tram it, fashionably late rather than arrive tired to battle
>>
Rolled 3 (1d6)

>>1544054
>>1544059
Even is walking

Odd is going on the tram
>>
>>1544063
You start heading towards the tram station, seeing soldiers getting off of it. They looked heavily equipped. One soldier passes by you and stops you.

"You're heading over to the Foundry right?"

You nod your head before he whistles to a combat droid.

"Then you are going to need a little more than that shotgun."

Combat droids have upgrades to weaponry. Use them wisely, they are not easy to find.

>Triple shot: Load three shots and use them in the one turn. Spread fires to multiple enemies.
>Grenade shot: Lob a grenade to an area from the shotgun.
>>
>>1544069
are these upgrades alternative fire modes or do they override the normal one ? havent played doom4 yet
>>
>>1544109
Alternate fire modes.

Each drone gives you the choice of all the upgrades, but only gives you one per drone.

But also you can swap the fire modes at any time if you have both on the same weapon.
>>
Will be out for dinner. Will be back within the hour.
>>
>>1544116
then take triple shot
>>
>>1544125
You take the triple shot and thank the soldier. You ask why you needed it.

"Heh, I take it that they haven't told you what is happening today in the Foundry?"

He laughs and walks off as you get onto the Tram. A loudspeaker voice comes on.
"Hello, I am VEGA and here is the latest updates: The Foundry is still closed to anyone but the Elite Guards. All soldiers and employees must not enter the Foundry until it is ready to enter again. An emergency is happening at the medical center, may all Soldiers go there? Finally, Lazarus Facility is calling all employees to come back for the bi-monthly celebration. This message has been given by Olivia Pierce. Thank you."

You look out the window and see how centralized the Argent Tower is to the rest of the main facility. Pulsating and brewing with Argent Energy. You arrive to the foundry tram entrance.

>Go through the door to the foundry proper
>Wait for someone to greet you
>>
>>1544198
>go through the door
>>
>>1544201
You go through the door, shotgun in hand.

You see how large the cooling turbines are as you see other Elite Guards walking through a door on the other side with a large robot. They are firing shots off everywhere. Their door closes as snarling ensues below you. You could try another exit to this place via a catwalk but the only way to reach where the other guards were is down below.

>Try the catwalk
>Go down below
>>
>>1544210
>try the catwalk
>>
>>1544214
You start walking along the catwalk.

Looking down below, there seems to be that Imp demon roaming around. You are sure the other guards should be able to deal with it. You walk to the door at the end of the catwalk and come to a narrow hallway. It's dimly lit but you hear gun fire at the end of it.

>Keep going
>Go back
>>
>>1544219
>keep going
>>
>>1544219
>Keep going
I wanted the grenade shot.
>>
>>1544229
well sucks to be you or to be late senpai
>>
>>1544225
>>1544229
There is an opportunity to get it

You keep walking forward before you witness a body being flung at you. A voice comes on the loudspeaker.

"Demonic presence detected, initiating lockdown"

The door behind you locks as you keep going forward. You eventually reach a computer room where another creature is hunched over an employee, someone who didn't get out when they were supposed to. The creature turned around. It had no eyes but it knew you were there. It clenched it's fist and started running towards you

"Hey, it is another Elite guard, come on man we ne..." an Elite guard called out before he realized that the robot is still moving. He sighs and starts moving while yelling out "Look, find a way to meet up with us. We need all the help we can get".

You start moving to find some stairs. You reach a bridge over lava that is about to break but at the other side is a set of stairs not far from where you saw the other guards. There is also a crevice in a nearby wall that is big enough for you, but you have no idea where it leads.

You walk ever so carefully across the bridge, making sure not to break it. You make it to the other side, but the bridge collapses and instantly melts. Luckily that wasn't you. You start walking down the stairs and start thinking about why demons are just roaming about.

She... must not be trusted. The cataclysm of your world is in her hands. She must be stopped.

You turn around after hearing the voice.

Ignoring the voice, you keep going forward to where the other guards were headed. When you finally caught up to them, the robot is standing at a computer station.

"So this is where the some of the escapees went. Hmm. Why this far away...?" The robot is saying out loud. The other guards are standing around him, waiting to protect him. Closer, you can see that the robot is well over 3 meters tall and seems more eloquent and smarter than most robots.
"VEGA, patch all this information to my office and start moving him to the resource operation basement." The robot said before starting to walk towards you. "Your first assignment and you are late. Still, I did notice you killed a Hell Knight. Good job, but your job was to protect me. Escort me back to the offices". Confused on who he is, you were about to ask him before another guard nodded his head and said "Yes Mr. Hayden."

Hayden, as in Samuel Hayden? The CEO of the UAC. Hayden stands still for a second. "Actually, recruit, there is another assignment that needs to be done over at the Lazarus Facility. What do you want to do?"

>Escort you back Mr. Hayden

What you are basically doing is testing a new demon we constructed. It's combat capabilities and how well it listens to instructions." Hayden said in his voice. Not long after, a Hell Knight drops down to kill one of the other guard. The other guards fire on it but it is Hayden who gets the kill. "Shame, he was one of my better guards." He walks over to pick up the Plasma gun he was carrying. "With your assignment, you are going to need more fire power, would you take this gun?"

Hayden and his bodyguards begin to leave as you take another exit out of the Foundry itself and into the Resource Operations. From there you see a map that can get you to the Lazarus Facility. It is actually quite a long walk. Meanwhile, you spot a drone carrying a Sarcophagus with demonic writing further into the Resource operations

You start following the drone to see where it is dropping off the sarcophagus. The winds on the surface of Mars is starting to pick up a bit, you can barely see where it is head. It eventually disappears but you found an elevator to the basement level of the Resource Operation

Even for elevator

Odd for Lazarus facility

Good night everyone, don't let the Demons infect your soul

Thank you OP for something i always wanted.

I'm guessing it's too late to vote but i'll do it anyway

You decide the Lazarus facility is more important, but you do mark the entrance to this elevator. The sand storm on the surface is kicking up and Resource Operations is the only place you can hunker down for a bit. You enter the main facility and see soldiers and workers walking about in the facility. Some of the workers have tattoos at the back of their necks, marking them as part of the Advocacy program.

There is set of stairs up to the main office of this facility and a hallway to the refinement plant

You take the stairs up to the main office of the Resource Operations. You see most of the level 2 advocates typing away on their computers, nothing seems off. You then feel a sharp pain in your chest, not long before you collapse.

The first thing you see is an administration building. This building looks like the UAC administration building but at the same time, doesn't. Most of the employees don't look like they are part of the advocacy program, nor do they look like the UAC employees you have been seeing. There is a sign above you that says "Phobos research building".

>Ask around how you got here
>Exit the building
>>
>>1547393
Are we lying down are standing up? If we are lying down then someone moved us, if we are standing up then ask instead.
>Ask around how you got here

But if we are lying down, then>

>Exit the building
>>
>>1547469
Standing.

You got up and walked to the main administration desk. You ask the admin how you got there. The bald fellow behind just blinks for a couple of seconds.

"What type of armour is that? Certainly isn't standard issue"

You tilt your head slightly when you see heavily armed people come into the building. Their armour is green and their helmets look more like football helmets than something to protect your face from a demonic fire ball.

They say he exists in every realm, one person to take up the mantle.

>Whip out your gun to the armed people
>Yell out to the voice
>>
>>1547482
>yell out to the voice
>>
>>1547518
You yell out to the voice, feeling a sensation crawl through your body. The armed people freezing in place. Actually, everything is frozen in place. Except you.

The building around you started collapsing into a void, leaving you standing on nothing and with a slight glimmer of light. Out of this light stood a man, in what looked like Knight's armour, except with advanced tech embedded inside of it.
"I'm glad we can talk face to face. I am Morgan Al'Turez, last of the Night Sentinels"

>What are you?
>Where is this place?
>>
>>1547535
>>What are you?
>>
>>1547535
>What are you?
>>
>>1547552
The knight chuckles.

"I told you, I am a Night Sentinel, or have they only restricted that information to the upper researchers of the UAC?" He explains. He walks slowly towards you, holding something behind his back. "I have been trying to contact you for a while now. Nothing screams desperation like making someone collapse in the middle of the room."

You take a step back from him as he takes one forward. "I need your help. More specifically, I need help from the soul inside of you." You clutch your chest as he holds his hand up. A chip flies out of your body and into his hands. "I might take this now, because if it is inside of you, you are not going to last long where I want to send you".

You seethe in pain as he takes another step forward. "Production of Argent energy must be stopped. It is taking the life force of what we, the Night Sentinels, hold dear. The Wraiths are already dead, their souls don't need to be tortured as well." He says as he takes another step. "You won't be able to stop it yourself, but there is a way. You must reawaken the King of the Night Sentinels. You must awaken, the Doomslayer."

>The Doomslayer?
>How do I know you are telling the truth and are not a demon?
>What does Argent Energy have to do with your "wraiths"?
>>

The Doomslayer?
>>

>>The Doomslayer?
>>How do I know you are telling the truth and are not a demon?
Spooky spirit dude may not be on the up and up.
>>
>>1547594
>>1547615
He looks up.

"The Doomslayer... what he was before my order found him... I have no idea. I have been trying to piece it together. Apparently his reality also had a UAC operation on Mars." He looks down. "Although I highly doubt they actually poked Hell to drain for natural resources." He then sighs. "The Doomslayer saved his reality from joining into the collective of Hell. This surprised the Demons, and this led to his legend."

A bright spark appears and shows off the large demon from before being ripped apart by a man in ancient looking armour. "What the demons did to his realm or what they were planning to do to his realm is a complete mystery lost to legend. Whatever it was, it angered him to the point where his rage became the bane of hell. He was the ultimate Demon slayer, bringing doom upon the armies of the damned. We crowned him our king when our realm was absorbed into Hell. They wanted the soul of the Wraiths, for the Wraiths contained power beyond mortal and demonic imagination."

He then turns to you.

"As for whether you can trust me, that is up to you. From the amount of time I spent in Hell, I can no longer say I am human. I don't actually know, but spending literal millennia in hell can not be good for one. But my dimension was devoured by those creatures, the Wraiths now suffer becoming hell energy that you exploit. I am trying to prevent that suffering. For the Wraiths, and your dimension"

He holds his hand.

>Fine, how do I find this "Doomslayer"?
>No, this is too much for me to handle.
>Is there time to think about it?
>>
>>1547630
>Fine, how do I find this "Doomslayer"?

This
>>
>>1547637
>>1547644
"That is the difficult part. The last I heard from Demonic chatter is that the Doomslayer was crushed under a whole temple after killing the second lord, ending the second age. However, there are a couple of things to bring him back from wherever he is. Number One, Find a way to his home dimension. Out of all the things he protected, he protected that the most. However, that means you have to find a way to venture into hell, and because of your human nature, you won't be able to go back to your original dimension. Number two is incite a demonic invasion of this realm. If the Doomslayer is not slain, then he should be running towards your realm to protect it. Hell hasn't absorbed any dimensions in a while. If you poke it to go to you, then he should come back. In any case, as soon as he awakens, he will destroy all Argent Energy creation machines in your dimension no doubt. He will drive the demons away from your dimension and end the suffering of the Wraiths. Win win."

The Night Sentinel looks at you.

"Now, if there are any quick questions before I have send you back to your regular realm, say it now."
>>
>>1547664
>If I incite a demonic invasion on my own realm, aren't hundreds of people gonna die? Wouldn't this "Doomslayer" be out for me too?
>>
>>1547674
THIS

>>
>>1547680
I'd rather not be in Doom Guy's sights. Guy's a certifiable mass murder machine.
>>
>>1547674
>>1547680
The Night Sentinel looks off into the distance.

"If the Doomslayer does not arrive in time, yes, hundreds, thousands maybe millions can die. But... it is for the greater cause. The Doomslayer shall return to punish the spawn of the wretched dimension and the Wraiths will no longer suffer and join my brothers in the great beyond, away from this place."

He throws something towards you. It is a double barreled shotgun.

"It was always his favourite weapon in battle. Now go. Release his rage."

Everything went dark again.

You woke up with employees looking around you. With you is now your shotgun and the double barrelled shotgun as well. The employees actually look more familiar, like they belong to your UAC. There is a pain in your chest, such an immense pain.

"Are you Ok elite guard?!"

>[lie]Yes, I'm fine. Don't worry about me.
>I require assistance to medical bay.
>>
>>1547719
>>I require assistance to medical bay.
so do we leave our own realm forever or do we bring a horde of demons here?
>>
>>1547719
Got any painkillers?
>I require assistance to medical bay.
>>
>>1547733
>>1547734
You ask for assistance to get up, at which point some employees yell out for some soldiers to get you up. One of them slings your arm across his shoulders and starts carrying you towards a tram bay. Your breathing becomes heavier as blood starts coming out of your chest. It's trickling, you can clearly see and feel it. However, none of the soldiers helping you can see it.

On the Tram ride over, you hear an announcement.
"Hello, this is VEGA and here are the updates. Foundry is now re-open for all employees and soldiers. Soldiers doing their daily routines must ensure they have yellow access key cards with them, for new security purposes. The basement of Resource Operations is now indefinitely restricted by the order of Dr. Samuel Hayden and Olivia Pierce. Only those requested by these two can enter. Finally, if you see a carrier drone going between facilities, report to the nearest supervisor as quickly as possible. Thank you."

You look out the window to the Argent Tower. Something looks... off about it at the moment. Instead of constant streams of Argent Energy running through it, there is only spurts of energy. You reach the Tram bay of the medical facility and the soldiers offer to walk you to the medical beds.

>I'm fine, thank you
>Yes please...
>>
>>1547778
>>I'm fine, thank you
Unassuming grunt man doesn't need to get caught up in this.
>>
>>1547789
You thank the soldier for his services, but you got it from here.

You start walking down the halls aimlessly, trying to find where you can heal your pain. You find a mobile healing station. Using it brings all your vital signs back to normal, but the pain in your chest is still there.

Around the corner, you start hearing the chatter of employees with Tier 3 advocacy uniforms.
"She says it is going to happen this week. We are going to ascend with our gods!" You hear one of them saying

>Ignore them
>Use your rank to force them to tell you what they are talking about
>>
>>1547816
>Use your rank to force them to tell you what they are talking about
>Fondle double barrel menacingly
>>
>>1547816
>Use your rank to force them to tell you what they are talking about
laugh and mock them afterwards, they are expendable peons, who would share power with them, much less powers of the gods.
>>
>>1547819
>>1547827
You come up to them, double barrel in hand, and ask them what they are talking about.

They turn to you with shocked expressions as your armour allows you to tower above them.
"We... we were just discussing the latest book published by Dr. Samuel Hayden, where one of the passages was talking about the last cult on Earth. When Hayden discovered the Argent trench, these cultists were going wild. Eventually the UAC on Earth hunted and killed the last of them..." One of them says with sweat hanging off of his brow. You stare intently at them.

>Alright, you can move along now
>That's an oddly specific thing for them to quote.
>>
>>1547845
>That's an oddly specific thing for them to quote.
>Spill the beans or the UAC is about to find a another few cultists
>>
>>1547856
"H... here, check out page 295!" One of them says reaching for the book inside of his suit.

You look at the cover of the book. Argent Energy: The complications and the history. You turn to the page that he said to look up and there is a quote.

Ascension into god hood is nothing like a demon finally accepting you! For it is her word! - Gerald Asl, last of the Fury Nine cultist.

There is also something catches your eye on the previous page. It looks like an ancient drawing, one with people looking like the Night Sentinel and the Doomslayer.

>Call them out on the misquote
>Thank them and keep the book as you move on
>>
>>1547881
>Call them out on the misquote
>Keep the book anyways
Need some reading material for now anyways.
>>
>>1547885
You close the book, place it in your suit and say they got the quote wrong.

They look at each other before a woman's voice comes over the announcement system.
"All tier 3 advocate employees come to the Lazarus Facility. Repeat, all tier 3 advocate employees come to the Lazarus facility. Thank you." There is a sigh of relief between the two workers, who thank you for your time and let you keep the book. Before you can say anymore, they are already walking off. "Can't wait to see how the Cyberdemon project works out..."

Your chest no longer hurts and the blood you thought you saw is no longer there.

>Follow them to the Lazarus Facility
>Read the page on the Night Sentinels
>Continue to the medical beds, just in case.

Last one before I have a break.

You take out the book and flick to the page on the Night Sentinels. From what Hayden has written, he has deducted that they come from a realm absorbed into hell called the "Argent D'nur" and seemed to be the protectors of the source of Argent Energy called "The Well". When Hayden and his team explored this area, they only found monuments to these fallen knights and their king. From this book, it seemed like their king fought demons ferociously and wants his employees to be the same. You already know who this is. What surprised you is that the book mentions that the mark of the King of the night sentinels is linked to a stone called the "Helix stone" which is now inside of Olivia Pierce's section of the Lazarus Facility.

There is also some scribbling on the book, with symbols you don't understand. But, the mark of the Doomslayer keeps appearing.

You eventually get to the medical bay where some soldiers have their heavy machine guns out

Hey OP, is pic related a good approximation for our armor?
