Hear ye, hear ye! Announcement from the Master of Law!
The Duke of Gobbopolis have officially informed the Tower of Law that they've forgiven the entire debt owned by the criminal scum known as the Yalmfrid.
For this reason, the outlawing of the Yalmfrids as well as the bounty on their heads are hereby both retracted.
That will be all. Hail Empress Wave.

After the vicious murder of Leon Yalmfrid, Trusted Councilor Vanders lost no time in organizing a spontaneous mob to listen to his moving eulogy.
“To many, this was a cruel murder. To others, this was holy retribution.
The Truth is, both Leon Yalmfrid and Councilor Zhang were the victims of a much greater crime. The crime of our own culture.
Leon Yalmfrid, blinded by his own greed, lust for power, normalization of betrayal-culture and a peculiar Roggarian glorification of running from your problems, carried out an act that could have been a blow against merchant-culture and the banking cartels. Instead, it ended up as a petty crime that caused the innocent Kulagari to become the victims of unjust persecution.
Trusted Councilor Zhang, blinded by hate, obsessed with revenge and the Roggarian inability to forget past insults, abused his power and ended his life as little more than a common thug.
Much the same with his late niece Zhang Jie, a glorification of violence and obedience to nobility caused her death at the hands of misguided revolutionaries.
Both of these men were the victims of Roggarian culture, a culture that makes men into vicious brutes that tear each others to shredds at the slightest provocation. Together we must fight to end this culture that victimize us all.”
The mob, arming itself and chanting slogans about love defeating hate, then took the path to the Zhang estate to educate these violent elitists about how their acts of intolerance and cruelty got no place in the current age.
A barrage of arrows followed by a charge of Zhang family members and their guards quickly scattered the mob. Sticks and cobblestone no match for sword and halberd.
For these violent murders, Trusted Councilor Vanders had the entire Zhang clan relocated to Flamkor. Their property in the Duchy of the Trusted seized.
The House of Lords has approved an increase in infrastructure spending for the next few years and the construction of a new Cathedral. Furthermore, Pontiff Miranos II's proposal has found agreement with the House of Lords - the Gothic-style Cathedral shall be known as the St.Dragonfist Cathedral, named after King Mutt Dragonfist I of Roggar. The Cathedral we are now building shall be known as the St.Bereg Cathedral, named after Bereg Nomin, Avatar of Zemel.

The young knight Claudius Vance, heir to the noble Vance family, have taken the hand of the fair Lady Ceria Divata in marriage.
The ceremony will be held in Freehold and will feature three days of feasting, jousting and general making of merry. All the lords and masters of the realm are naturally welcome to partake in the joyful occasion.
Vast quantities of ale have also been purchased (Lectre brand, the only brand trusted by the Trusted) to be handed out freely to the common masses of the city. All shall be allowed to celebrate the lucky newlyweds.

Using ward magic with this, a personal shield against magic spells is erected. For this project, we worked on developing a type of physical enchantment to go with it. Essentially, a shield that will not activate unless a physical object hits it, at which point it will tense up, much like how a muscle will harden when someone tenses it, while it is softer when lax.

The people are happy, the weather is good, the harvests are plentiful and many are drawn to the new lands in the west, where there are vast fields and untapped riches - the colonies are beginning to turn a profit. Crime and corruption are low - philosophers wonder if this is a new golden age.

Councilor Vanders, rubbing his hands eagerly, exclaims: “At last, the time has come to enact our glorious reforms!”
His aide, handing him a piece of paper, mumbles: “Yes sir, as soon as we complete the current project for our armed forces.
“Wh... whaaat? The armed forces are goons and lackeys of the established elites. Why...”
“Sir, we've been diverting all ressources to this project for over ten years, long before you were elected. Millions of marks and work hours have been invested. Cancelling it all now would be a disaster. It must be completed.”

“The armed men of Trusted Defense must be the finest in the entire realm. They must have the best recruits, the best weapons and the best training. And naturally the Wolf Brigade shall have the cream of the recruits and all other things, they are the jewel of the Councilors.
Also, the Trusted Guard will slowly transition from battleaxes to combined units of archers and halberdiers, the inspiration from the Wolf Brigade clear enough.”

You're developing the Colonial Army of Roggar (CAR) as an agency under your office.
Explorers that visited the west bring tales of the Felinkot Kingdoms - the lands of the catmen are as yet mostly mysterious, but those who've journeyed there have learned a bit of their ways.
In Roggar, scientific advancements continue as natural scientists observe the stars and the laws of nature, formulating scientific theories in math and a variety of other subjects, which can eventually be applicable in practical fields.

Trusted Councilor Vanders, after exchanging letters with the duke of Virinum, joyfully announced to the public that his beloved adopted daughter, Lady Java Vanders, were to be married to none other than the famed duke himself. Celebrations were held and a sizable dowry was brought forth from the treasury. Vanders and his entourage left with great fanfare and great expectations.
Arriving in Virinum, he quickly learned there had been a misunderstanding. The marriage proposal was not for the Duke, it was for one of his knights. To be specific, a hedge knight with a lazy eye and a lame leg named sir Jasper the fat.
Finding himself alone in a strange land and very conscious of his privilege as compared to the poor Galvanni natives, he found himself unable to decline. The Duke then informed him that it was an ancient Galvanni custom for the father of the bride to watch the consumation of the marriage. And as a man of tolerance he would naturally adhere to the local customs?
Finally returning to Trusted Defense, he learned that his fellow Councilors had deployed the entire army to fight for colonial gains on the other side of the sea. Enraged, he gathered the mob that had placed him in charge and held an inflammatory speech where he roundly denounced the imperialist ambitions of Gobbopolis and the High Elves.
The mob, rather than take their fury out on his fellow Councilors as he had intended, decided to go on a pogrom against goblin merchants living in Trusted Defense (egged on by some men with slight Galvanni accents in the crowd).
Vanders attempted to bring an end to the bloodbath but was in turn denounced by the mob as a reactionary and a tool of the High Elves. At last a blow from a carriage board split his skull.

My fellow citizens of Roggar do you not remember our old golden days? Remember who our true enemies are, Roggar was founded upon the blood of dragons! Remember our flag (Gunnarson™), remember who you are, remember who we are. We need to stand united once more, we have been divided for to long my friends. THE DRAGONS WILL GET WHAT THEY DESERVE!
"People of roggar. Today on this beautiful autumn I would like to announce my intent. For decades we have known peace and prosperity, a peace and prosperity we forged after the civil wars that tore apart our lands, after the plague that brought suffering to our citizens, the war by anavark that pushed us to our limits. After all of that we had finally managed to pull peace out of the fires of that chaos but I am here today to tell you that the fire we pulled our peace out of, the fire of trials and tribulations we overcame, that same fire that grows weak today is what made us strong, I am here today to tell you that we shall take that fire back into our hearts, we shall grow strong from it, and today on this day we shall wage war against Ulanxir. For no matter what we believe, no matter who you are, We are people of ROGGAR! We are strong, we are proud, we are foolhardy, but we are not weak! So let us go to war against ulanxir, let us go to war against toimibon, let us take that fire and use it to lay waste to our enemies. As we are roggar and because of that we are number 1!"
"I have been placed in charge of handling the troops for this upcoming war. Compiling this was as tough as a demon, so be lucky you have this info at all.
On top of this list of faction troops, we have 91,000 regular soldiers.

Councilor Ravak, a warrior and lover of swordsmanship, is elected to lead the Councilors in this era of warfare. Not educated as a at all scholar, he barely passed the written exam required to enter the order of the Councilors, partly due to scoring very well on the section dedicated to military matters and partly due to hard work and determination.
Many speculate that he was placed in charge for this reason, a foolish brute that can be easily enough controlled.
Having to clean up the chaos left by Councilor Vanders, he must refrain from taking to the frontlines in person for the time being.

My forces for the war:
Total force 12'000 men
Breakdown: 4000 feudals (78 knights, 1560 men at arms and 2362 militia)
3500 heavy infantry (3000 Trusted Guards and 500 Wolf Brigade)
2500 cavalry (500 Mounted Archers and 2000 KoJ)
2000 mercenaries (1000 Flamkorian tribesmen (light inf & cav) and 1000 from Sir Bill Mai-se's Special Discount Free Company (heavy inf))
Commanded by: Claudius Vance / The Trusted Trio
The forces of the Trusted Councilors shall be placed under the command of three officers, nicknamed the Trusted Trio for their camaradeire and youthful friendship.
In supreme command, the young and recently married Claudius Vance. Heir to the noble Vance family and wielder of the ancient sword Thunderclap. As heir, it is expected that he will display the agressive spirit of his ancestors, win great glory and face his death nobly when the time comes. Anything less would be a disgrace to his name.
His right hand: Tiberius Neru, the heir of the family of the legendary Commodus. His kin impoverished and reduced to nothing by the machinations of Councilor Baraka, he was able to buy a knightly title thanks to the reforms of Empress Wave. Then he charmed Councilor Vanders with his tragic tale of having to take care of two diabled sisters and was made Commander of Barnabus Rest.
His left hand: Zhang Jiajia, a young lady of the Zhang clan from the lands of Flamkor. While neither knight nor Councilor, she has sworn to redeem her family's name (as well as to never remove her veil or know the touch of a man). Trained in the magical arts as much as in the martial education common in her household.

"I, Wave Petros the Empress of the Holy Pantheonic Empire on this day that marks the 7th of Stomnis of the year 812 declare that we of the HPE are at war with the Rhoznaxi Empire. I say this with the intent to purge this darkness from our world and to safeguard that which we treasure and we shall do this with courage in our heart and strength in our arms. We shall defeat Ulanxir and rout his army. We shall show them the might of our armies and we shall make them pay for the last. They shall know our power, and they shall come to fear it. People of the Empire, we march to Victory!"
A declaration of war has been given. Within the next 3 days it is known by all participants that Setyrias is now in a state of war.
The grand strategic plan:
1.RDF and Ondalia defend the Zhongi border
2.Lursar attacks the badlands
3.Elves and some Paitrans go from Hasgaldam
4.Paitras, Roggar, Anglanorse force through Stoman's Gate
5.Mostly Goblin, dwarves and Minotaurs attack through Bloodmist
This is the battleplan for the summer.
As the armies begin moving, on the 10th we are informed by the Zhongi ambassador that the Zhongi Empire has joined the war on Rhoznax's side.
I will now ask for five rolls - each will correspond to a point in the strategy.

72k Roggarian(Swift-Hands, Trusted, Hawthorne) troops, 23k Minos and 100k of the Kragnan forces advance through Bloodmist Pass south into enemy territory.
Supreme commander of this army is Horban Kragnan, King of Kragnaal, as his troops make up the majority of this force.
With a total force of over 200 000 people(counting all the varying supporting personnel) this army stretches for kilometers as it advances through the mountain pass. Within hours of crossing the border, enemy forces begin springing small ambushes, using traps, causing landslides - they have superior knowledge of this particular terrain. The weather is hot and there's a long way to go.
Several locations along the pass are reinforced with fortified checkpoints - during the last war a chokepoint further along the way, leading to the broad river valley, was the only fortified location.
King Horban decides to take an aggressive approach, using superior firepower to break through the fortifications in his way.
On the 17th of Stomnis his army takes the chokehold fort and now has access to the fertile valley ahead.
Scouts that were sent forward into the valley have not returned. The generals agree that a battle is likely soon.
Do you have any strategies you wish to suggest?
>>1513586
Find suitable High ground, and fight from there. Surely we will win on the high ground!
"Hold onto the fort, and hide some of our men in the mountains, with some hiding near the areas the river splits off. When the enemy charges in and tries to take us, they emerge and flank them."
>>1513586
Orcs are a race now for being extremely arrogant and rushing into battle, thus we must use this to our advantage. WE must create a strong defensive line using heavy infantry, cannons and golems. We will use calvary to constantly harass the enenmy over and over again hurling taunts and insults. We will push them into a rage by screaming "DEATH TO ULANXIR! FALSE BELIEVERS AND ORCS ARE PUSSIES!"
>>1513586
"I say we deploy for battle and march upon the fiends. Then we'll annihilate them with our martial skill and daring tactics.
We must not surrender the initiative and get bogged down, not with supplylines such as these. Let us destroy them all before the day is done."
Give me 1 roll for scouting the enemy, 1 roll for positioning in the mountains, 1 roll for harassing the enemy

We haven't been able to secure good mountain positioning; The enemy appears to number fewer than us, but our harassment has nevertheless spured them on to launch an attack on the pass - it is tight enough that it limits the combat width significantly.
20.6.812 - the battle is about to begin as orcish forces approach our positions
The generals have agreed to hold positions and use ranged attacks to our advantage as much as we can.

+15 equipment -10 ambush
The battle continued on more than an hour after the sun set, before the orcs finally withdrew. They had accomplished part of their goal, it seems - while our forces were largely focused at those in front of us, raiders managed to successfully attack our camp and destroy many supplies and equipment held in reserve. As if this wasn't enough, detachments of enemy forces have spread into the pass on the road between the fort and Bloodmist Valley - in position to intercept and harass more supply shipments that our large army so desperately needs.
On the next day, the 24th, we make a tally of our casualties.
4k Roggarian dead, 12k wounded
3k minotaurs dead, 8k wounded
9k dwarves dead, 12k wounded
around 18k enemies dead, 1k captured, unknown number wounded
At present, our assessment is that we can last 5 days with the supplies we have on hand - we can not live off the land with a force of this size. Supply shipments from Bloodmist will continue, but we can not be certain what percentage will be able to reach our position.
What should we do next?
>>1513789
"Well, seems we got no choice but to go on the offensive and take this entire valley with force of arms. Who's with me?"
>>1513789
Send off troop detachments to find and destroy raiders lying in wait.
>>1513789
We need to regain control of the supply line - Roggarian mounted troops, especially the goblins, should be used to resecure the lines, while the dwarves and minotaurs keep hold of the fort, and scout out the area around it in shifts to make sure we aren't fucked by an ambush again.
>>1513789
send part of our forces to stop the raiders while the rest of our forces stationed at the camp fortify in case of an enemy offensive.
>>1513789
Luckily we have a steady supply of one of the most important resources in the world! Water! We shall start by throwing the corpses of every orc killed in this battle into the river to drift downstream. It should be made a clear priority to clear the pass of any raiders. Use false caravans to draw out and crush raiders. At this point a strong offensive push of our most veteran and skilled will push forward.
Give me 3 rolls for the plan that's been approved:
1.Protect the shipments
2.Defeat the ambushers
3.Raid the enemy for supplies

This plan of balancing offense and defense has had glorious success! Within the next 5 days we managed to completely destroy all ambushers along the supply route, which has been reinforced with patrols of goat cavalry and field fortifications by the dwarves; the other cavalry forces, primarily those of Claudius Vance, managed to make several rapid incursions into enemy territory, which were followed by light infantry raids, that successfully procured supplies from nearby villages and towns and determined that the main enemy army at this point, located further south along the river, numbers no more than fifty thousand.
The 30th of Stomnis, 812 - what should we do next? We have:

As the army marched out of into the valley, leaving the fort behind them, they continued on for a full day, encountering no enemies, passing through the land the cavalry had already raided - which, at this point, was abandoned save for a few small pockets of civilians and militia that posed no threat for the army.
When the army was camped at night, shortly after midnight, a terrible rumble and the shaking of the ground was heard and felt - earthquakes shook the area and our men took up arms and prepared to either move or fight, but not long after the tremors subsided.
It was only afterwards, on the morning of the 1st of Jurias, that riders returned with the news - the mountains themselves had collapsed on top of the fort, closing the pass, destroying the fortifications and likely killing many of our men in the process! The main army, in total having around 180k people including the supporting staff, is now isolated!

Being slow, they could not maneuver well and when the enemies on the walls started seeing destroyed golems suddenly appearing near their walls it didn't take long before they reinforced the position at the wall - with one part of the golems destroyed by our cannons and another by the enemy, a mere 10 Mark 1s return to camp, of them only 1 undamaged.
207 v 144
Otherwise, the cannons are doing well, though we're down to 40% of our original ammo supplies.

During the night the fighting slowed down as fighters on both sides took turns resting for a few hours.
When the morning came, Claudius Vance led a glorious charge against the enemy, rallying allies and routing foes - as Sentinel Prime, the griffons and our entire army charged forward, we managed to overwhelm the enemy with superior numbers and momentum - the orcs that were not killed or captured were forced to retreat through the northeastern gate, finally leaving the city in our hands on the 15th of Jurias! A victory for the Holy Pantheonic Emprie! But at what cost?

>But at what cost?
"Bah, these losses are nothing in the grand picture.
More boys are conveiced in Dragonstomb in a single night."
The surviving orcs retreated towards Grokam. In a last effort to stall our progress, the dragon unleashed an earthquake upon the city, causing some damage and casualties.

"I am Torgalk, son of Narvog, Chieftain of the Stonegrow clan and I speak on behalf of Grokam and the people of this valley. You foreigners have invaded our lands, killed, burned and pillaged. Now you keep our children as captives and threaten to kill them if we do not all surrender to you.
We will not surrender, I tell you this now. You will either leave this valley - and we shall ask the great dragon, Zarinal, to open the path back to your homes - or you shall face us in battle. We continue north along the river, crossing it at a shallow ford - when we reach the pass, enough of it has been reopened so that we are able to cross back north, then continue on to Bloodmist.
The army, which started with 195k fighting men, returns to Bloodmist on the 26th of Jurias - 8 weeks after departing - numbering:
15 000 Roggarians
3000 Minotaurs
23 000 Kragnans
In total, 41 thousand fighting men return of the original 195 - less than a quarter of this army survived the campaign, the King of Kragnaal fell in battle and no enemy territory in that region is under our control now.
What we did accomplish was killing a lot of their fighting age males directly and a fair amount of civilians (mostly) indirectly and causing a lot of damage to their lands.
Hurrah for Roggar and the Empire!
War status report, 1st of Charodis, 812.
The absence of Dark Dragons in frontal engagements was puzzling to us - we found the reason for it too late - reports have come in from Lursar and the Ezirin region of attacks by Dark Dragons on lightly protected targets - villages, small towns, road junctions, supply lines, farmlands; several locations have been hit by darkblights already.
The Bloodmist Offensive can hardly be considered a victory, though it was not a complete and total defeat either. Elsewhere we've made gains on the front, but the enemy won't be letting us win easily.
This war is going to be a tough one.

Due to unforeseen actions beyond our control the Bloodmist offensive has taken severe casualties due to being get off completely from supply lines. However we have no returned to friendly lines and will once again try to complete our mission once proper reinforcements have arrived with some simple changes to our strategy! My requests are as follows:

Dwarves: Cannons, Gunpowder and Earth Mages
Roggar: Send more men, we must make King Nick proud

The imperial command has already committed troops to each sector of the plan. Reinforcements will have to be raised freshly from the Empire, The dwarves I have no doubt will want to avenge their dear fallen king in the wake of his heroic death.
News from the other invasion routes has not been received at this time and we can promise you that reinforcements will raised from where ever we may find them.
Fortifying your position until them will be of utmost important until reinforcements arrive.

Duke Barius Whitevayne
>>1519853
>>1519837
>>1519853
"If I might be so bold, I believe that I might offer an alternative approach.
Our first incursion into that theatre was hampered by us trying to bring a host of 200'000 along a small mountain pass before engaging a prepared enemy with the minimum of tactical sense needed to target our dangerously exposed supply lines.
Furthermore, that valley is now much reduced in infrastructure and supplies that can be foraged, it is now even less suitable for another massive invasion than the first time.
At last, we laid waste to both the army and population of our enemy. There is no need for overkill. A massive army under the command of a general such as our great Duke would be a massive waste of ressources that we need at other fronts.
May I recommend the following:
Give me 50'000 men and I will take this valley for the glory of Roggar.
Already we have 40'000 men here, good men who have not known defeat at the hands of the enemy. Restock them with supplies and ammunition and they will gladly once more go forth to bring death to our foes. 10'000 bannermen can easily enough be spared to reinforce them, I need no more to bring this sideshow to a close.
Meanwhile the Duke can take his tactical experience and leadership to more important areas. He should be the one to take half a million Roggarians into the heart of the Caliphate, a youth like me can deal with cleaning up irregulars hiding in the hills.
I hold no illusion regarding our respective skills and suitable deployment of said skills. Let the Lion hunt the oxen and the cub hunt the calf."
>>1520012
"Respectfully, No Councilor
The possibility of another offensive in the bloodmist area is extremely low and I'd rather concentrate on our main forces now that the bloodmist has caused its diversion"
"Putting more men in your sole hands doesnt sit right on my conscience based on the reports"
>>1520120
"Do you think there is anywhere we could put Vance that wouldn't cause the mass loss of life of our soldiers?"
>>1521330
How about in command?
Might I remind you, that the battleplan of standing still and allowing the orcs to seize the initiative, the one that caused our camp to be torched, was vigorously opposed by me only?
Did I not lead the last glorious charge that captured Karhagon?
My tactical suggestions were sound and my valor on the field unquestionable. I know it is not proper for a knight to argue with his Empress but you have clearly listened to unwarranted slander and lies.
My noble ancestor never showed disrespect to yours, is it too much to ask the same in return?
>>1520012
We will take this Valley one way or another Vance, even if I have to call upon conscripts from my own Duchy to aid us! I trust in the Empress to see the value of winning this battle morally and militarily!
>>1521426
"I'll write to Lakton, my dear sister can surely convince her husband Gerwig Erden to send us some of his troops for this task.
Perhaps I should also write to Trusted Defense, Trusted Councilor Ravak can surely convince the Knights Of Juras to send us reinforcements.
Even if the Empress and her Marshall refuses to believe in our great cause, we shall liberate the red orcs from the scourge of the Caliphate. Destiny is on our side."
>>1521330
Barius leans closer to the empress and whispers "I know of a station Empress that requires little to no tactical mind as he would be under the complete command of the king of kamborash, But I fear he might become agitated at the thought of being there, Being posted here under swift-hands would probably be the best course of action until the Goblin Duke can raise more banners and the call for aid is answered by individuals and their assets instead of the empire's."
>>1521415
"I believe the duke has already sent back messengers asking for brave goblins to join the right fight. But Imperial recruiters could perhaps join them?"
>>1521481
"If by liberate you mean slaughter, I have reports that they lost over 70% of their male adults in these battles of yours.
If you can keep bloodmist fortified by a Force of 20 thousand men, You have my permission to move what forces are left joined by reinforcements to once again take the valley."
>>1523535
That number will be sufficient for our victory, I shall make it so or perish trying.
Trusted Defense still got nearly a thousand militiamen to spare, hopefully I can raise more men from other sources.
If not then we will march upon the valley with a host of 22'000 men and bring the remaining fiends to their knees.
>>1521415
Once again, I must apologize for my rudeness, but I do believe you've listened too much to slander and the accounts of those who envied my Grand Aunt.
I've been raised with this heritage from birth, these tales are part of my blood. Just as I'm sure the exploits of Charavakin are to you.
Your honored father, Charavakin, served under Claudette and was there when she took the fortress of Bloodmist Pass in one single night. Never was a word of disagreement passed between them.
Then, during the invasion of the valley, he was injured in the first clashes and granted command of the crossroad camp. There he remained while the others fought against the red orcs, he did not witness the bloodbath himself.
I've read the historical accounts, 14'000 dead at the battle of Vance's Folly. A significant number yes, but the most of our losses came when Anavark himself took the field by the crossroad, as your father witnessed.
At the Battle of the Oasis a host of 300'000 of ours suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the enemy, more than 200'000 lost, also here thanks to the direct participation of their dark god. But nobody calls that battle Charles Martel II's Folly?
Many other battles were lost during that war, tens of thousands lost time and time again, yet their commanders remain unmocked. Only for my family is this rare "honor" given, despite all accounts describing Lady Claudette and her 500 bodyguards giving their lives to secure the retreat of their fellow soldiers. I beg you to forgive me being so blunt but on what grounds can this bias you speak of be justified?

*The following events are set in 5.4.812*
A marriage agreement has been struck between the Vance and Erden families. Valeria Vance is to marry Duke Gerwig himself! The marriage ceremony was held quickly after their first audience both families deciding to ignore the fact that the bride came wearing a Shrew's Fiddle after committing some rather questionable deeds the evening before. As the ceremony came to an end and the feast celebrating the newlyweds was starting, a messenger came in calling for the levies to raised for there will be war soon. Valeria immediately proclaiming that she will slay Ulanxir herself and promptly throwing a hissy fit when she was informed she would stay back at Lakton during the war. Furiously she challenged Gerwig to a match of strategy, using a sort of board game originating from around the mid 6th century. Gerwig reluctantly agreed, the match was intense from start to finish, Gerwig at first not showing any interest allowed Valeria to take over the initiave. Valeria was however greatly suprised when Gerwig started playing more seriously, more out of annoyance than actual interest in the game causing valeria to deploy her knights too early which proved to be a fatal mistake with them getting destroyed and the rest of the army soon after them. So it was concluded, Valeria will stay in Lakton for the remainder of the war.
The central area of the Badi river is our main force's target. The commanders here:
Dragoncommander Belatucadros Dragonscarred - leads the Roggarian army, which numbers 220 000 - this includes the Royal Army and all the faction forces that were sent to the front to fight, with the exception of those who fought under Duke Swift-Hands.
Marshal Elisimus Stelran, Duke of Dorseel, leads the Paitran Army, which numbers 150k here.
Imperial Marshal Barius Whitevayne leads the Roggarian and Paitran Imperial Forces, which totals 10 000, along with being direct commander of his personal Eternian forces as part of Roggar's army. He has been appointed as supreme commander of the Imperial forces in this offensive, so the Roggarian and Paitran commanders are under him.
The Imperial force totals 380k fighting men. From their southernmost position to the Badi river it's around 150km of desert.
King Regulon Renatus leads the main Aurileni army, numbering 150k. His forces are stationed at an oasis that is closer to the enemy, around 80km to the river valley.

Recently bought free and given an official position by Trusted Councilor Ravak. His skills now being utilized for the interests of Roggar rather than against it.
As all the regular soldiers of the Councilors are deployed in Bloodmist, he is merely accompanied by 100 mounted warriors, many of them his kinsmen and former raiders.

The Aeldabadi desert, in the hottest month of the year, is not a place you want to be. Especially not as part of a mass of over half a million moving with enough supplies to feed Dragonstomb for half a month.
Our army moves at a slow pace, covering twenty to thirty kilometers a day.
Entering enemy ground on the 2nd of Charodis, our main army marches through the desert four days. During that time many die of heat stroke and ilnesses and our supply train and outriders are frequently attacked by desert riders. This is a land unfamiliar to the Imperials in just about every way. The unbearable heat saps the spirit of our men - finally, on the morning of the 7th of Charodis, scouts report that our Imperial Army will reach the river valley within the next hour - good news there! The bad news, however, is that the enemy knows exactly where we are and where we're going and they're most likely ready for us.
This army, upon embarking on this campaign, numbered 220k Roggarians, 150k Paitrans and 10k Imperial soldiers. With the supporting staff, this force reaches over 450k. The Aurileni army under King Renatus is around a hundred kilometers south of us. We have at least a thousand reported dead and many thousands in various states of "Not in good health".
What shall we do? We're at the edge of the desert, with the river valley less than an hour away - guarded by forces of the Caliphate.

The cloudless sky lets the sun's rays fall heavy on our troops. Every minute they spend on the sand is a minute they'd rather be spending on the grass, by the river, they all think.
We rest for an hour and a half, then gather up, make formations as usual and march forward - into battle!
Around twenty minutes after marching out from our camp, as the sun is approaching its zenith, on the 7th of Charodis, 812, the battle is about to begin...

Communications with the elvish King, about 3 days' march south of us, indicate that he has managed to win a small battle against an inferior enemy force and secure a river crossing. The other elvish army further south is making good progress with sieging Seldabad.

Rather than closing in, they're holding a position at which they're able to exchange volleys with us for the time being as they send out smaller groups of cavalry out from their main battle lines.

Get pike-man to counter the enemy Cavalry
Place mages and gunmen in lines behind a thin line of infantry to smash the enemy in ranged fire.
When they charge the lines swap with the further back heavy infantry
171vs243
-5 fatigue -5 equipment
Seeing our deployment of pikemen, the enemy's cavalry does not charge straight at our infantry - instead they continue to pepper us from range.
Their main force is keeping the ranged troops at a distance from which they can shoot and sending melee infantry forward - while the cavalry are just about all dark elves, the infantry that's approaching is a mixed force of elves, orcs and dwarves. Their ranged forces are most likely elves as well.
They are outperforming us in ranged combat, their archers able to put out a much higher rate of shot than our crossbowmen an their mages having superior offensive spells than ours. Furthermore, two dragons - one wind and one dark - have joined the battle, providing ranged support for the time being. Our cannons are practically useless here too, which doesn't help at all.

Most of our cavalry is busy keeping the enemy's raiders away from our flanks and our rear in particular.
The enemy's infantry have closed in to a distance of under two hundred feet, while their archers are at a about twice that distance away and appear to be taunting our own lines. Their ranged forces continue their barrages, to which we are replying in kind - primarily with crossbows against their bows. Everyone's just waiting for something to change.

Several units from our army break formation, charging at the enemy without orders - the two dragons perform crossing strafing runs upon those forces of ours, throwing them in dissaray - those that managed to make it through got slaughtered by the enemy's infantry as their entire army is now edging towards us. Our cavalry is taking losses in fights against the enemy's own and our ranged barrages are losing out against theirs, whilst the core of our army is getting uneasy. The enemy is chipping away with us, taking as many of us down as they can while losing as few of them as possible.

The enemy keeps their strategy up, but their dragons shift their focus - attacking our cavalry groups this time! The brave knight Lancelot Redvayne falls in a valiant struggle against the Dark Dragon, after which his unit of knights is wiped out. It looks like the enemy is now aiming to take out our cavalry so that they can put their own to attacking our main force, which is still at a shaky position, the infantry holding ground and waiting for orders - no proper melee has started yet.

A cascading charge is ordered, its aim - to shift the battle lines in a certain direction. Our infantry, eager to fight, gladly take this opportunity to engage the enemy straight on rather than to wait to get shot by an arrow - the clash of the armies is fierce, our infantry managing to put pressure on theirs at last, though their lines aren't buckling either - this could go either way now, but we'll need to press the initiative and keep pummeling the enemy if we want to win the battle!

The enemy barely moves to try and impede our march south. We reach the siege lines on the noon of the 15th of Charodis, on the way restocking by looting and recieving supplies from the north.
The city has, at this point, been encircled and small enemy forces outside the walls have been eliminated, others forced inside the city. King Renatus does not wish to waste more troops than he has to, so he is laying siege on the city at the moment, having cut them off by land, river, air and - hopefully, though he can not be fully certain - spatial networks.
Around the city of Meldabad we have 100k Roggarians, half of them wounded at present; There are 95k Paitrans and 135k elves, not too many wounded among them. Supply lines and raiding in the area are keeping us in good supply.
Further southeast, the army of Marshal Amulio has been bombarding the city of Seldabad - the enemy holds the bay in which it is located well enough and it is being supplied by sea, so they can not hope to starve it out quickly.

We laid siege to the two cities for the next few weeks. The red orcs of the valley surrendered to Claudius Vance in return for supplies and protection. The centaurs are making good gains in the badlands and the Zhongi border is holding.
Summer ends, autumn is upon us. The summer campaigns saw costly losses for Roggar and Kragnaal, but we've made territorial gains on three fronts.
The following map is the situation as of late Zemis.
