You are Snikspekt, potentially mighty grey-furred skaven! You have learned grey-furred skaven need horns to have fun, so you feel a need to go to Skavenblight in the swamps of Estalia to join the order. You have rightfully acquired food and gear from your former home, as well as your spawn-mate Vutch as a follower, who thinks you are the best thing since the Horned Rat. He isn't very bright....

"Vutch, we must quick-get to Skavenblight! But Warlord Crueech will be angry you left, fool-thing! So we must sneak-crawl overground, through man-thing lands. come-quick, come quick!"
You and Vutch scurry through the tunnels, heading to a marked access point a short distance away. Vutch is making small apologetic noises about attracting attention, but you are too busy thinking of your future ascension to pay attention. You begin moving upwards, and emerge underneath a wide tree. Before you lies a large field, yellowy-green with raw grain. A small village lies in the distance. A forest is behind you.

Those fields and warren-things look like they could have man-things in them. And man-things tend to attack skaven... Maybe this forest is a better idea....
"Vutch! Quick-quick, through the forest. We must get to Skavenblight!" you say as you scurry back into the trees.
The trees press in around you and the path gets darker as more and more of the sky overhead is blocked out. Luckily, you are skaven, so your nightvision is excellent. Soon, you begin to hear something. It sounds like low grunts, and is coming from a clearing ahead of you.

You see a line of bushes at the edge of the clearing, which would provide excellent cover. You and Vutch creep along the forest floor, arriving in the bushes. You push Vutch back and move forward, peering into the clearing. You see 4 man-thing-things, with small horns, and one large goat-thing, holding sticks and small axes, cutting into the earth. A large stone lies in the ground next to them. You creep further forward, trying to see the stone.
The large goat-thing looks directly at you, and you feel your scent glands tremor. It gives a gutteral grunt and begins to walk in your direction.
>What do you do!

You stride forward, and stand boldly in-front of the Goat-thing. It looks surprised at your boldness, and barks out some words.
"Why rat here? Here herds. Here not rats. Herdstone not hurt rats. Why rats here?"

"I am travel-going to great skaven-city to south! Snikspekt simply wishes to pass by, to maybe be pointed the right way....."
The goat-thing spits on the ground, then gestures a direction out of the woods. "Sad to see children of moon fall so far. City breaks with gods. But rats not worship right gods, worship rat-gods. So sad. South heads across horseman-lands, across 2 great rivers. Beware forest to south-east, small rats will die there."
The goat thing turns back to the hole, and lows at some of the man-thing-things who have stopped work to watch.

You feel happy with how you have scared the goat-thing into giving you the information you had need of! How terrified it looked as it cowered and gave you the directions you did not need, but simply wanted to check its intelligence. You head south, and soon emerge from the woods, a fast flowing river in-front of you. In the distance, downriver, stands a tall grey structure, like the bell tower in your home-nest. A bridge crosses the river near it. A small village is upriver, and you can see several small wooden piers sticking out.

You struggle across the water, and are certain that you swallowed half the river. Vutch supports you and provides a suitable float. You struggle out of the water, and shake yourself dry, feeling successful after your undoubtedly masterful show of swimming. Before you lies a dirt road, running parallel to the river, and a long rolling green plain infront of you.
>What do you do?
>1. Head West. This road will be yours when Skaven conquer the world, so might as well check it out
>2. Head East. This road will be yours when Skaven conquer the world, but you prefer the east.

You begin to head across the plains, and continue walking for most of the day. Vutch is a good-stupid servant and follows without commenting on much. However, after you have been walking for a few hours, he points ahead of you, to a small grey smudge on the horizon.
"Is that a man-nest Snikspekt? It looks like one."
You can't make anything out at this distance, but then again, Vutch is taller than you. What you can see is a wide dirt road a few hundred metres over to the east. It runs parallel to your current course. And if these roads are man-thing tunnels, then maybe Vutch is right. How wise you were to tell him to follow you when you met him in Warlord Crueechs nest. However, there will be time for preening later. You emptied one of the sacks of grain, and the last of Vutch's rations an hour ago, and while Vutch makes good eating, he makes a better meatshield. You will need to find more supplies somehow....
Now you need to decide...
>1. Approach the town via the road. It will take you less time, and you'll be in sight of it clearly by dusk.
>2. Approach the town via the plains and fields. It will take you longer, and it will be night when you arrive, but darkness allows for more things....
>3. Skirt around the place. Man-things have yet to realise how intimidating you are, so maybe caution is the better part of sneaking here. This will take you a long time, and you might not have enough food to make it to Skavenblight...

Man-things are slightly better armed than you. They are also bigger, and are so stupid they don't know when to run away. You head towards the city, and find a small copse of trees that allows you to watch the walls clearly. you can see a tall stone wall. You can't see anything past it, except an even larger set of walls, with round towers and pointed roofs. It is dark now, and you and Vutch make a small meal of grain. Now, you just need to find a way in. There must be alot of food inside....
>What do you do?
>1. Try to climb the wall? The stone is irregular, and you are fairly good at climbing. Vutch might have some issues getting his armour up, but that his problem right?
>2. Try to sneak in through a gate. Its dark and the Man-things can't see well like skaven! Surely you can sneak in...
>3. Try to find a different way in. Man-things like guards, and guards don't like you. So being more sneaky and finding places only a skaven would enter through might be wonderfully brilliant! Eshin do it, so how hard can it be?

You creep along the edge of the wall, until you come to a small grill. It allows waste to flow out of the city from the gutters in the street. Its too small for a man-thing to sneak through, but a skaven can sneak through easily. Vutch leans against the rusty bars, and they bend upwards, allowing you entrance.
The streets are quiet, with few lights on. However, you can hear the sound of far off voices, and marching feet.

You creep through the back streets, peering into alleyways and sidestreets. You soon have a decent idea of the layout of the city. The manthings have a small marketplace in the middle, and a large stone-nest in the middle. On top of the walls you can see many man-things carrying spears and shields, but some wearing shining metal. You also find a group of stone towers, but without the outcroppings the stone-nest had. Finally, you see a small white-stone building with a female man-thing on a plinth outside, carved of white stone. Where do you want to investigate?
>1. Look into the marketplace. Food and shiny things are traded here, so maybe there's loot to be had
>2. Poke around the castle. Most important, most stuff to steal-claim for yourself.

Most interesting by far.
And if we wanted food we'd go for relatively quiet and unprotected grainaries or warehouses rather than a busy marketplace
